hi fella's. great site. i just found it. my junk pales in comparison to most on here so don't laugh please LOL. i have a drive under garage that i added on 9ft. straight out of the front five years ago but now i'm at it again. this is from the backyard looking to the front. house & garage are on the right. i had to remove a bunch of material to get to grade, as you can see it's lower at the base of the pine tree. had to remove the tree's too. the birch tree to the left has been dying the last year, so that was a factor in moving ahead with this project.

this is from the street. tree's are down & starting to excavate. the section i previously added on to the left is where the walk in door is. it used to be that the overhead living room window just went straight down to the driveway.

got a bunch of material removed now for the ugly part. the concrete sidewalk that goes to the backyard is eight inches thick & on bell piles, lots of them, eightteen in total i think. crazy. no cracks though, LOL. you can see a bunch of piles on top that we pulled out, then put up on top to use the weight to our advantage. it was a bear to come down. in this pic you can see a rectangle window that will become the walk through between the old & new sections.

have grade finished. you can also see my driveway is between 8-9 inches think, same as the sidewalk. no cracks but wasn't fun to saw-cut. my neighbors driveway to the right is a standard 4 inches. looks funny compared to mine. i was telling people i'd love to saw-cut 4 inch think concrete just to see what it felt like compared to my stuff.

concrete floor & driveway finished. this was a big day at the time. i'm sure most of you can relate. in this shot you can see my one sore spot...the brick chimney i had to go around. it wasn't coming down without a fight i was destined to lose. i actually had to ancor it to the existing gradebeam for extra support as you can see. cheap way to go really.

material starting to show up. trusses go front to back to match the house roof line, they are 38' long. i'm just showing the highlights here. trying not to get carried away.

It would appear you like Corvettes. lol. Very nice. Love the small tire Vette and the wheelsup pics. Small Block? Juice? What's she run? Great Garage. Wonderful attention to detail.

ya thanks, it's a small block naturally asperated with one 4150 Holley on a cast aluminum intake (no sheet metal). runs on pump gas only with a best time of 9.11 E.T. @ 151 MPH off the foot brake. i drive it to & from my home track, approx. 28 miles one way. still lots of bugs to work out. my home track is at 2200 ft. elevation. thanks again, appreciate it.

What is that machine for above the wrenches and what kind of cabinet is that it's sitting on? Looks good
it's a Superflow flowbench for testing cylinder heads. it's kinda old school with everything these days going toward wet-flow technology. it still helps in certain situations once in a while. the stainless cabinet is out of an old 7-Eleven store. it was underneath where the hot-dog & hamburger condiments were put on. seriously ha,ha. the things completly stainless steel in & out. the inside of the doors & like mirrors. they were throwing out a bunch of them. re-modeling stores. crazy huh. i had this one tucked away for a few years until i moved in here then i built around it. turned out o.k.

Wow, this is awesome, great use of space with the double lifts! Love the counter top setup in the original garage, and upon first look at the outside the original doesn't look like it would be that big inside! Great work and good looking stable!

Looks like a mini-fridge to me.
However a dishwasher loaded with Tang does wonders on a small engine block (don't think a SBC would fit in there though).

So, after further observing your photos, what is the black mats you have on all of your work surfaces. I have self created benches too and have been thinking about doing something similar to that but can't find anything I like. Then I saw your close up of your magazines which shows in a quarter of your picture a close up of one of your benches, looks like its a ribbed surface. Fill me in brother! Thanks

Very nice shop. I'm jealous. So what car do the ProJacks belong to?

Chris
they are for my Stingray. had them for a couple years now & have never used them yet except to set-up & weld tabs on the car. never had the car out at all last year because this addition used up all of the summer & fall. plan on having it out this year as long as my engines i build for people don't drag out too long into summer.
