bumping this thread....

Finally was able to meet up with Anthony (shocwav3) and have him weld something for me. I figured I would drop it off and come back in a day or two. Anthony immediately dropped everything he was doing and welded what I asked him to. He may not be the cheapest guy around but I think his welds IMHO are nothing less than amazing. Sadly the pics don't do Anthony's work justice.

Awesome. I love hearing about people like this.

What bothers me is those people who are ONLY price driven when shopping for a compitent mechanic/fabricator/tradesman. These are the kind of people I wish would never shaddow my doorstep.

Nice bump.

I was telling Anthony (shocwav3) that after I hired another welder to weld in a roll bar on my project car I'd NEVER hire another welder again. The guy (who shall remain nameless) who did my roll bar in my car really hacked it in there in my opinion. Ever since then I searched all over for a guy that I was comfortable using when it came to welding. Everybody talked a big game but the moment I was about to contract them for work I got cold feet and said screw it. (Yes.... stuff I need welded has collected dust for a long time) If and when I'm in a better $$$ position down the road I'll pay Anthony (shocwav3) to either "fix" the roll bar OR RIP IT ALL OUT and start all over.

Good to hear. I know around here the off-road/Jeep crowd is always bragging about their welding abilities but I have seen very, very few at some of the local runs that I would let near my rig. They think because they have a "welder" in their garage they are a "weldor". Couldn't be furthest from the truth.

Glad to hear you found yourself a good weldor. Take care of him and he will take care of you.
