Quick little background info, built a new house last year. (myself as general contractor). Moved in February of 2016. House is located on a slightly oversize inner city building lot (typical lots are 50'x100', mine is 50'x160'). The house has an attached 25'x25'. Figuring that would be big enough since this is our first house with a garage. Guess I was wrong as it filled up quickly and now there is no room left.

Here is a picture of the house

At the end of last summer I started planning on completing an exterior garage. I had intentions of it right from the beginning but didn't think I would get to it this quickly. I drew up the purposed design in sketchup and submitted it to the city for approval.

After getting my building permit I started to dig out for the slab. Since the building lot has a incline at the rear the garage was designed to have a retaining wall built on top of the slab floor and then the wooden walls to be built on top of the retaining wall.
