Hey Guys...

At first, I want to say sorry for my english, which is not perfect, because I'm from Germany... I got english lessons for only 4 years now, so please don't be angry about my mistakes :)

This summer I started to renew my garage :), while my father was in china for working, we got the whole garage in a new style :)

At first I want to show you some pictures, how it was before :):

DSC00486.JPG

So we had to put out all the things, to get a new floor... we didn't have that much money, because... I already said, that I'm 16yr old, and it's hard to get enough money to get a perfect garage... so we got garage-floor-color and we painted it grey, we got new cables, because there was only one plug for the wohle garage, before we started working and also only one light... now theres 4 :)

So, that's a picture, while we put out all the things:

DSC00509.JPG

And then painting walls and floor:

DSC00527.JPG

now we started putting everything to it's new place and we got a new working table from the shop, which is 3km away :D we got it by bycicle, it was very hard to transport it... 2.60m long and pretty heavy :D The transport looked really funny ;)

DSC00558.JPG

Now I also got a new toolbox, but I don't have a picture with the toolbox inside... I'm gonna shoot a picture of it soon :)

And I'm very proud of my... (small) ...erm... I don't know how to say in english :D this one:

DSC00557.JPG

In Germany it's "Standbohrmaschine" :D

I think this garage is very nice for someone in my age :), okay... it's only for motorbikes, but that's all I need... at least, at the moment ;)

When I start working on cars, I will have to get a bigger garage...

So... have a nice day.. hopefully you were able to understand my english :D

Yours,

Jan

Hey :)

yeah your English is fine dont worry,
your garage looks similar to the one in a house my family just sold (we buy houses, fix them up and then sell them), fine for motorbikes (like you said) but it'll be okay for one car, maybe, depends how big the car is...,

did a nice job of renewing it :D

take care :)

that one :) I will get an old Mercedes W108 280SE from 1972... my father got the car for 20 years now, and 15 years it stood without engine in the rain... It's gonna be a lot of fun, but it's a very big car, and a lot to do, so the small garage won't work with the car ;)

DSC01323.JPG

I LOVE THIS CAR!
:D

but the back of the car got a LOT of rust... it goes through the material :(

as i said, a lot of work to do ;)

EDIT:

aaah, now i understand the question... :D yes, the tool thing on the picture is a hazet :) in germany most popular is hazet and Wiha... :)
i also got Wiha tools for about 250$ now... that's all money, i get in 3 months xD

Your English is very good.
I wish someone took a photo of you carrying the wood.
Now that you can carry wood, you could start working for a bed mattress company.

The transformation to an organized garage is very good.
I bet your father was suprised and so happy of what you did.
Makes is so much easier to work on stuff.

By the way -- nice tool chest and ol' Benz.

Herzlich Wilkommen!! Ihr habt alles sehr gut geplant.

Die "Bohrmaschine" ist "Drill Press" auf Englisch.

We have several members from Germany and Norway --and your MB project looks great.

Great work! That W108 is a classic. We have one or two owned by original owners that still bring theirs in for work. Love that garage space.

Very nice job on fixing up the garage. It looks like a different building.

What kind of welder is in the picture on the right hand wall?

Also, your English is better than some of the students I teach.:(

Your use of English is excellent, better than alot of people I know. Great job of fixing up your garage. Doesn't look like the same place.

Please keep us updated on the restoration of your old Mercedes, always look forward to pics.

Would love to know how you chose your name too!

In england we call that a Pillar Drill :) I do love how the german language stacks up words to make names for things.
Stand-bohr-maschine = Standing boring Machine. :)

German is full of such examples, and they never fail to make me smile. Its an the very epitomy of german efficiency!

Haha :D

What's so funny about my nickname?, That's kind of my Family-Name, causi my Family name ist Lösbrock and a friend of mine calls me lesbos always... ;)

And thanks for all these nice comments :), yes, I will keep you updated about the W108, but I will start working on it in 1 month...

okay... I will take photos of my tools, when I feel better... today I haven't been at school, because I'm very Ill at the moment... I have been lying in bed all day long and I'm so sick of it... Just want to get out, go to my mercedes to pic some parts of it and start working... (At the moment it stands 4 or 5 km away from my garage ;) )

Okay, someone asked about the "weldor"... I had to look up, what that is :D Erm... it's an Einhell weldor... it was about 500$ but it's really crappy... Einhell is a very good brand, but they should stop selling weldors, with this weldor, no one can do nice work... I'm gonna sell it and buy a Metabo MigMag... That's much better, my neighbour has one...

The mercedes Light are in my garage ;) perfect condition ;) like all the other chrome... :)

So, maybe this evening or tomorrow, I will will show you pictures of my tools :)

Yours, Jan Lesbos ;)

Hope you feel better soon Jan. You have a wonderful project and apparently have good support from your parents to take on such a challenge. Few 16 year olds could make such a committment -- congratulations.

As far as your name is concerned; it's simply the fact that the spelling your name coincides with that of a very famous Greek island that was of great interest in mythology --

Good luck!

zufälligerweise ist dein deutsch sehr gute... besoffski :D

Danke trotzdem :)

Gruß,

Jan

Back to our regularly scheduled program for all the other English speaking participants!

okay, lets talk english again... but your german is VERY good gesoffen! i'd never think, that you are from USA...

I Just decided to create a big carport in front of my garage, where I can put my mercedes ;) so i can work in front of the garage without of rain... at least it will be cold, but dry ;)

I will start working on the carport in one or two weeks, because my father is in china again and i need his car :D i don't want to carry all the wood by bike again :D:D:D

once was enough for me ;)

Well thats easy for you to say...

Years ago I worked alongside a German mechanic & he'd ask English names for tools he held up & I'd ask him the German name for tools I held up..

A typical conversation would be:

Me: Whats this? (holds up a screwdriver)
Him: Schroubennsier (doesn't ask me the correct spelling)
Me: *Schwartz*schroubennsier? (pointing at the black handle)
Him: Ja
Me: Schwartz*luft*schroubennsier? (holding up a black air powered screwdriver)
Him: Ja
Me: Schwartzluftschroubennsier mitt kaput motor? (pointing to the broken black air powered screwdriver)
Him: Ja

Then the boss would walk over & ask WTF we were laughing about...

Very good garage. It is perfect for your use. Without the table a small car would fit fine. Good tools and things necessary to do work. Is that a portable heater along the right wall?

Great job on transforming the garage into something you like and will enjoy!

I'm a fan of Hazet tools so please post up whats in your toolbox in the my toolbox thread. Some pictures of the motorbike would be cool too.

Haha :D okay... someone has to ask... why do you know, what a mexican cell looks like? :D

And... finally, after a long time, i found time to take photos of my tools and the vehicles ;)

These are 50% of the tools... the "better ones", most nuts and tools are Hazet and Wiha, the whorse ones are in another room... so if i need some more tools, i can always get some ;)

Here we go:

tools.jpg

That's all I got in my garage ;) + electric tools... from which i have no photos.

Here is my Garage-Computer, well stored in edge of the garage :)
PC070019.JPG

And Now the Vehicles... at the moment 3 of them... + my fathers Cagiva Elefant 750 with Ducati Engine :) (it's so much fun to go out on the fields with this bike!):

PC070021.JPG

PC070022.JPG

PC070024.JPG

And all on one picture:
PC070025.JPG

AAH, I forgot the Cagiva :D
DSC00008.JPG

So far... :)

my father came back from china yesterday... today we put an engine and a lot of other parts on ebay, so i get space for my car... so, when he comes back from his next working trip (Italy, Mailand), we well put the roof in froht of the garage for the car :) nothing big, but the main thing is, that there is no rain on my car :D

Yours,

Jan
