18v impact on lug nuts?

Just pulled the trigger on a bare tool Milwaukee 1/2" Fuel with 4.0 battery. Since I have the 3/8ths, I didn't need the charger or case since it will be going in my box. $309. out the door at CPO. I was really going to go with the Craftsman, but the $150 difference wasn't enough for me to go with their tool.

I'm hoping it is all that everyone says it is.

If I didn't own any other Milwaukee tools then I would jump on the craftsman at that price

Is your 3/8" the compact Fuel? If so, is it noticeably more compact than the new 1/2" Craftsman?

I've handled the 3/8' Fuel but not the new Craftsman. I recall the previous Craftsman being slightly bulkier than I wanted.

My M18 2763 took the axle nut off a gmc 2500 with a 175k on and it was the first time coming off took it off no problem. I have taken the axle nut off a dodge 2500 and they are torqued to 265 and it also had no problem and that one had paint and **** on it for lube lol.

My 3/8 IR 5130 can remove lug nuts in three seconds or so and these are lug nuts I had zapped on with my snap on mg725 months ago,then I use it to reinstall them and check it with torque wrench,so far has been consistent in torquing them good even with one battery life dot left.its not the fastest and does struggle a bit but with no air at home it sure beats the breaker bar.

I have the Craftsman C3. On lugnuts tightened to 100 ft-lbs, it hammers for a couple of seconds before zipping them off. It takes lugnuts tightened to 80 ft-lbs off almost instantly.

Yes, the 3/8th Fuel is really compact, especially with the compact batteries. Much smaller than the CM C3. I use this quite a bit.

In hindsight, I should have waited on the Mil. 1/2" Fuel. For the few times I'll use it, I could have saved $150 and purchased the new heavy duty CM C3. I did also buy a 4.0 battery, so it will allow me to use it on other M18 cordless tools.

When I called to try and cancel the order, it was too late. I'm sure I'll be happy with it, just not sure I totally needed it.

Got em no problem, wheels where torqued to 115. Also keep in mind my wheels are ridiculously clean including the bolts. Literally took 3 seconds per bolt. Ran a 1/4 to half adapter to a 19 deep impact.

Dang! Good for you. I must say I'm surprised that is was able to do that.

Clean threads definitely help. Mine wouldn't budge with 80 ft-lbs, but the wheel studs probably aren't in the best of shape.

I do mine with a 1/2" impact. The only real thing I have to add that I have noticed that no one else has mentioned is that if you have longer lug nuts, I would go with a deep socket. I have beat up the lug nuts on my truck quite a bit by using a short impact socket to get them off. Now that the truck is nearing the end of its lifespan it is a hassle to make sure the socket doesn't get stuck on the lug nut.

I agree, also worth a note. If you have nice rims, throw some automotive or masking tape around the socket. Chewed up wheels before, not on these.
