Yup, neat old station there in Rochelle. 30 minutes South of me.

I am starting to expand my collection to include items that have direct ties to the history of the building. Sovereign Service, APCO and Montgumery Ward were all part of the first 40 years of this buildings history. The problem with APCO and Sovereign Service is stuff is pretty rare. I've been surprised to discover how many Wards branded products are out there and they are pretty cheap.

I sat down the other night and put together a collage of pics in a 24" x 36" frame to hang in the front clean bay.

I was contacted by a friend of a friend a couple weeks ago about the station hosting a stop for a car cruise they were putting together. Its a charity cruise that the proceeds are going to support a local cancer charity. Kinda neat deal, its one of 7 cruises simultaneously happening in 7 states on the same day. It is sponsored by RATROD Magazine.

Pretty cool of you to host a stopping point for the charity cruise. I'm sure the cruisers will enjoy your place and get many pictures with their rides out front. And if your town gets on board it's another great way of boosting downtown business.

Absolutely right. That would also be a really cool thing to do a live web cam or Facebook live stream of the event.

Every time I stop in for updating, you surprise me with new collectables. The cruise stop will be a fun time. I hope the town officials are aware of the increase in traffic. When I did the Hot Rod Power Tour last year, we rolled thru several small towns in the midwest. Some provided special assistance with trafficand others did not.
