10% from both the seller & buyer makes $30,000 for Mecum. Good money for a little over a minute of work. Auctions are some of the biggest cash cows around.

Congrats on the sale Randy!

Have to say a little sad that you sold it but onward and upward and jealous of it's replacement. Wanted a Raptor R as soon as Ford announced it but could not justify the price.

When I woke up yesterday morning I was total fine with the sale. This morning not so much! Total mixed emotions this morning.

23 yrs is the longest I have ever owned anything, prior 2 were 16 years on my 1970 Mach 1 428SCJ 4.30 Automatic. If I had not moved from MI to AZ I would still own that car. I also had my '66 Cyclone for 16 yrs and once again sold it when I moved from AZ to WA. Eco2 is creeping up on 16 yrs now too maybe it has surpassed that but I did sell it to my daughter for a couple years after she graduated HS with when she was done I would buy it back. I did just that when she moved from AZ to MN. My blue '66 daily was purchased May of 2011 then sold it back n forth a couple times to a friend. Must be about 3 yrs this last time. Rainbow is now 6 yrs, and BigBrown '65 F600 is 2 and N Crew is already 2 yrs.

I have always wanted to buy NEW then keep it forever.

I had sure hoped to keep 1 '66 truck for each of the daughters and families to enjoy but will see where that goes.

Yesterday was so fine the day was spent thinking about what can I do with the $$ to make that amount grow buy sell flip or whatever it takes to make a buck.

I also spent a lot of time yesterday looking at auction sales stuff, what sold what did not. It was quite obvious to me $$ numbers had certainly crashed on a lot of stuff. One of the things I looked at were truck sales and also the early bronco as I had walked around looking at the guesstimated values on windshields. All those vehicles expected to hit 90-100 or 125k to 175k never came close to those numbers. All those bronco's that were in the 150k range brought only 40-60k so many of the bronco's never sold. The F40 Ferarri estimate was 3m to 3.5m it was nearly 1m down. Auctioneer group figured my truck 50k it did 165k (buyer)

Funny story: When I got to podium or open hood here it is spot the Auction guy sticks his head inside truck saying what are we going to start at 50k? I thought he meant starting price but he actually meant "reserve" I said I don't care where the number starts 50, 80, 100 and he goes
You have a 150k reserve right. I said yep then he goes how about we start reserve at 50k? His face was prob less than a foot from mine and I said the reserve is 150k and it will not drop a single penny or I will be driving it home. He yelled some nasty remark then motioned to the Auctioneer and said this guy not budging a dime! It was my LOSS! My friend Walt was standing right behind him as it was told he was my "UNCLE" Lol he heard it all. His girlfriend was standing opposite video taping it all! I have not watched the video yet but will today then post. I would need walt to tell story in his words but the auctioneer threw his hands up and comment like this guy is a fool. But, when it started going up so fast then hit reserve his eyes were like whoa and he started clapping near in shock.

So although so much stuff was on a down roll it was the "Little Truck That Could and Did"

So yep. Hammer drop was 150k plus 10% for buyer 165 and me 10% to 135.

One vehicle that I thought would bring was a 1977 F250 crew cab that came with a 300 6 in white but had a fresh 7.3 Godzilla 6R80 installed. It was done very very nice. Only thing I spotted was firewall did not look as nice as rest of truck but still something I would have driven home. It sold for 197k inc sale fee. Interior was modernized a bit and looked fantastic. Will post pics from my phone.

Starting to calm down now after posting that rant . .
Only real regret is not getting good driving video of truck. No friends around to help and did not have funds to hire a video crew. Maybe the next one!

Summary: Truck did FANTASTIC as I said above 100k would have been a good number for it to hit my minimum I figured rock bottom what it would take then added the amount so after 10% fee that is what I would get not sure how but I nailed it! I did turn down 150k a couple years back but had not driven it yet. We put 9500 miles total on truck and enjoyed every mile. My absolute minimum was 135 to allow me to go to next step and that is exactly what I got.

My mind is always a few hundred mph so will give a few clue's what could be next. I just gotta wait 10 business days to get the check . .

I’m going with Keanu Reeves

Anyone ever f’s with it, its gonna be game on Randy :Gun1::bigun2:
Did he tell you? Nobody said it was a guy . . . Person who bought it never saw the truck until the line was getting ready to roll into the building. Said person walking buy and I made comment. I recognize you from _____ ____ ________ so they stopped we chatted. Stayed long enough to show the album I had put together. I was not done with my sales pitch and the hands went in air and said hold it right there I heard enough.. she turned to walk away and then said the truck is already mine then kept walking.

Pretty cool that she bought your truck! Didn't you sell another truck to a celebrity? Emilio Estevez?

I'm wondering if she was the only bidder over $100k? If there's only one bidder, the auctioneer will use house bids or ghost bids or whatever they call them so they can keep the bidding going. If that's the case, that's likely why they stopped when they hit the reserve; it wasn't going any further.

As for the auctioneer, I had a similar experience at Mecum Indy with my 70 Ram Air IV GTO. Right before the bidding started, someone from Mecum asked me what I would sell it for. The reserve was $80k, and that's what I wanted for it and that's what I told him. Bidding got into the 70's before it stalled, but I'm not sure exactly what the highest "real money" bid was.

If the early Bronco market has cooled off, it's about time, but hoping the car market in general hasn't dropped; I still need to sell my 72 Alfa GTV and those have been on fire on BAT.

Yes, Emilio Estevez has my green/white '65 250 Camper Special.
I didn't say either of these bought the truck just posted a pic. Most recognize Courtney on right but that is car gal Adrienne Janic on left.
Just a pic nothing more or is there? Didn't say it was either of them . . Far as I know it's still April . . A very well known person in Car Circles bought the truck. That is all I can spill the beans to now. Likes Ford's vs other brands but does have some of those other brands.

Randy, if it gets you into that new Raptor R, that's what matters. I expect the 2023 Raptor R is one of those vehicles, like the 2023 Z06 Corvettes that will sell for a boatload more money than you paid if and when you decide to sell it.

Bob, the RaptorR order is pushed back now to Week of May 15. Because of bad bore size for timing cover seal. Supposed to have been fixed on all R’s build after March 12th. So now they probably have hundreds stacked up waiting to be fixed. The cover and seal now on National back order. I will mostly likely take mine when it comes in but becomes issue if i can afford it or not. I may have to finish another truck to sell but if market is starting to crash…
Seriously thinking of getting a base regular cab xl 250 at huge discount as used stuff is more than i can buy new for.
Still dreaming of R as i have been for over 3yrs. And that alone pushed me to finish F100R

Now that would have been way too cool had Adrienne Bought it. She did some very special one on one modeling pics with us when we unveiled a challenger back on 08 at SEMA. She’s a cool head.
She sure doesn't look like 48 yrs old already. Met her at Russo-Steele a few years back or probably quite a few now. could be close to 10.

I was going to guess Courtney when you said SHE prior to the picture, she is a Ford girl and gets sentimental about old vehicles.

Was the '77 a narrow frame truck? That thing seems as narrow as my Bronco from that front on shot.
Reason I ask, my Dad's '73 had to have a replacement rear axle one time and we picked up a '76 I think and had to relocate the spring perches to narrow them up.

It's not Courtney or Adrienne just trying to throw the bloodhounds off the trail. Hint was it's still April as in April 1st. It could or could not be a guy or gal as that may have been a "intentional" typo. I will share that info when I feel it's best.
In the meantime I keep coming up with a dozen new builds per day although I still have a dozen big projects to do. For now the goal is buy the R then go from there. I gotta slim the heard 50% so I don't have many options.

1) Rainbow Ranger
2) Eco1
3) N Crew
I gotta get at least one of them done and sold. One I would want to keep the most may not work out, that would be in order:

Top of would like to keep in order
1) Clone of one dad bought new
2) RaptorR
3) N Crew Cab with a 2023 6.7HO (a) or a 2023 7.3 zilla (b)
4) Eco2 Just something about this truck and have had such a long time. Think it was spring of 2006 or 2007
5) Rainbow this truck will be my only trailer queen to keep it mint.
6) Current daily driver
7) The rest simply don't matter plan is to sell them all

That 77 looks very nice. Front leaf's? **** steering? yuck. Probably won't get drive much if at all so I guess it doesn't matter. :)
197k is a lot for that but with the late model engine and a 6R80 and factory crew cab they are up there on top of food charts.

Wonder what N Crew would be worth? Be nice to get a similar number . . Drop in the 2023 7.3 zilla then put on BaT? Just to test the waters.

I could list as a dual range 6 speed. 12 forward 2 reverse.

Talk about stump pulling power with a 9.03 rear axle gear ratio and a 3.97 1st gear 42" tall tire dual wheels.
High range is 6.50 rear gear

1st gear with the 9.03 diff in low range the truck speed would be only 3 mph per 1000 rpm
But in high range 6th gear it would be 28 mph per 1000 rpm which would give the truck a easy top speed of 112 at 4000 RPM or same top speed as the new Raptor R. hypothetical of course not so sure I would want to be in it at that speed. A 70 mph cruise would be only 2500 rpm

I better get back to work. Parts for wifes car just showed up from dealer.
