Went from $298 to $199 in less than 24 hours. Home Depot is really desperate. Some criticism on this cart whereas mixed reviews at the same time--I think the internal design has been revised recently and can now accommodate more weight. What do you all think?

Its a Black Friday deal. They did it last year also.

I bought one yesterday. Its not super heavy duty but it's fine for my use.

It was $298 yesterday (Black Friday) and its $199 today (Black Friday is over, Cyber Monday is right around the corner), not sure if it was $199 last year, I never recall it being that low. Also take another $10 off with coupon.

It was definitely $199 at my local Home Depot on Friday. I can't say if the online price was the same, though.

it was $199 here on Black Friday. Good box if all you're gonna store is light weight things. Metal is very very thin & flimsy.

I bought one for my mini machining equipment. I plan on using it for my Sherline lathe and mini mill as a stationary bench/storage unit.

Did you all make any modifications on this tool-chest upon unpacking? As soon as my wooden drawers break, I'm sure to replace them with this Husky tool box. I purchased several modular chests this year.

What $10 coupon? Do you have more details on this?

There was a coupon $10 off $100 at HomeDepot.com
$5 of $50 or more is still there, but the $10 seems to have been removed prior to Black Friday

Home Depot gave $5 and $10 (depending on amount spent) off last year. I'm stunned by the fact that they were not offering that this time around. Its been removed on their website.

What $10 coupon? Do you have more details on this?

yeah, this was $199 for BF this year and last year. It was definitely in the BF flyer. I'd post it but the whole .pdf is large (and no longer relevant).

For $199 I'd take it all day long if I needed it. Would be nice for a bench at a vertical mill. But I simply don't need it and don't have room. I wouldn't expect much from the drawers given the price point.

The box is periodically on sale for 199. I've had one for a few years and it works fine for what I use it for, a tv stand.

I just rechecked the flyer and sure-enough it was there all along, I wonder I missed the price. Its an okay, not all that great setup. I like the ball bearing slides, but the voids inside of the corners of the workbench raises some concern. Some even mention opening all drawers results in the cart tipping over, but it doesn't appear all that narrow. The depth is around 18" inches. Good for occasional use.

It looks like Husky actually updated this box to a newer design (making a couple of enhancements / refinements) to accommodate high weight capacity. Can someone comment on the build quality of this toolbox if they recently purchased one? Did Husky fill the voids? Thanks :)

I bought one Friday, for $199 for the same use.

Will work great for my 3:1 machine and all of the tooling/accessories.

Please post pictures of your setup, particularly inside the cabinet where the support columns are. I want to know if they go from top to floor--no voids. If I can get rid of my 52" Wooden Drawer tool chest for this 46", I'll be able to keep the area clean, and potentially have a better organizing capability. I particularly like the top most drawer of the Husky.

In-spite of getting the Waterloo and Craftsman chests recently, it still leaves out a lot to be desired in terms of accommodation. I can't put a another tool chest stacked on top of the other because I have ceiling height limit of 7.25 feet and I'm only 5' 11" tall.

I'm not sure if I can fit this on the back of my station wagon even with the rear-seats folded down. If I'm not able to haul this on my own, then I'll pass. :)

UPDATED FEATURE: full extension ball bearing drawer slides support up to 100 lb. and feature secure latch retention system that ensures your drawers are completely closed and secured

UPDATED FEATURE: 5 in. x 2 in. casters (2 stationary and 2 swivel with toe locks) can support up to 1,200 lb.

UPDATED FEATURE: premium drawer liners are included

Other highlights which got my attention,

All welded steel construction with a tough, rust-resistant powder coat black paint finish

This is a new and improved version of the 46 in. 9-Drawer Mobile Workbench with heavier gauge steel, heavier duty drawer slides, higher load capacity and drawer liners.

These slides also have a unique Secure Latch retention system that ensures your drawers are completely closed and secured.

. The full-length top drawer provides storage for longer tools and the extra-deep bottom drawers are great for storing bulkier items.

Total weight capacity of the cabinet is 1,200 lb.

21 Frame Steel Gauge

Somebody needs to post an updated YouTube video.

Other videos I came across,

I will when I get mine unloaded today. FYI it fit in the back of my Volvo XC70 with the back seats down. You will need two people to load and unload it.

According to slickdeals, there are three versions of this box out there with different SKUs and different specs all selling for $199. Make sure you get the one with the 100 pound slides.

Its very much possible the one they had on display at my local HD was the older model, and that is why I was not convinced by the quality in-spite of all the hyped up raved reviews. Again, its possible because the newer model ends in the letter "R"

I need proof, I'm going to spend $199 only to find out the differences are minor. I don't want to have to unload and reload.

After a recent issue I came across on my Harbor Freight 5-Drawer Cart, I'm actually thinking now about returning it and buying this Husky 46" instead. I know I'm making some compromises here, but for the sake of safety, peace of mind, and warranty, its a wise choice. I can't afford to go to and fro Harbor Freight "all the time" something ridiculous like this. The saying goes, "avoid anything with a motor or too good to be true from Harbor Freight".

The only thing I need to crack down now is the lottery system Home Depot is playing with their customers with multiple SKU's for this workbench. I need the 7440946R, not the older so-called inferior ****.

Would greatly appreciate some pictures of the interior of the revised model---7440946R

Thanks! :)

Just got mine unboxed yesterday, and love it.

Online, I saw the different SKU's, but they all pointed to the same location in store, so I guess they are considered interchangeable in their system?

I can't believe you can get this much quality, for $199. Mine feels very solidly built, none of the usual sloppy QA, I associate with consumer grade, Chinesium tooling, AKA HF. I.e. no bad welds, or overspray.

This is my 1st tool chest/cabinet purchase in more than 10 years, and I am very very happy with it. The inclusion of the drawer liner, and SS bolts is particularly thoughtful.

The only point I can think of, is to make sure not to over-torque the handle & caster bolts. A few of the nut-serts felt like maybe I was overcoming their mountings.

Awesome turbopun, do you recommend additional washers to purchased? Or should the included hardware be more than adequate?

Unfortunately it looks like the SKU is the same for both units. If you see a model number listed somewhere, the 7440946R is the one with 100lb slides and 1200lb overall rating. If you got model HOTC4609B11M, then you've got 75lb slides and a 1000lb overall rating based on the website. Looks to me that they're interchanging the two units though as when I check nearby stores, both items have the same quantity available at other stores. I can't see them having 13 each of both models at one of my nearby stores.

Make sure to look at the physical box--reading every word before placing it in your cart. The box clearly states 100lbs per drawer and this darn thing is literally heavy. Caution advised ;)

I strongly suggest you do not wait for Christmas, because these workbenches are seasonal and are likely not going to be around in each and every HD after the holiday season. You can open the box, inspect the drawers, locking mechanism, and ball-bearing slides, keys, liners, and so on -- then put it back in the box and wait 'till Christmas to really reap the benefits. ;)

Yes its hefty heavy.. I ordered mine. Still sitting in customer service at HD. Bad weather here and need one strong man to unload. In worst case I will have to buy a ramp to slide the box down with handle from flatbed off my truck

I had to use a dolly, blanket, pillow, and gravity to unload this for me, it was well-worth the try

I picked up the floor model today (model 7440946R). It seems very well made and had just a few scuffs that don't bother me. One store employee said I could order one and their system showed some coming in 12/6. Another employee said that because they were a hot buy, i couldn't order one at the $199 price. I didn't want to lose out so I took the floor model.
