Quick update on missing drawer liners........went back to the store I bought these from and they were supper nice about the issue. They said that their system has two model #'s under the same sku and the ones I got did not come with the liners. They had none of the updated cabinets so they offered enough of the drawer liner material sold separately to take care of all four cabinets. Could only find 2 of the 8 rolls that I will need even though the inventory system showed 13 in stock so they gave me the 2 they had and will have the other 6 in a few days.

Even though I have to cut for each drawer, since I had all four cabinets unpacked and it would be a huge hassle to re pack and exchange, this was an exceptible option. First rate customer service as usual!:)
That was nice of them to take care of it like that.
one time they had a 2 light florescent light fixture, think it was abt. $25.00.
But it was all banged up.
I asked for a discount, the fellow at the CS desk had to get the guy from the dept.He was on older ornery fellow, said NO! REGULAR PRICE!
He wouldn't budge, so I asked this lady that was like supervisor at the registers, She was real nice, gave it to me for $10.00, right away.
I had to take it apart at home to straighten it.

I took the drawers out of mine to move it up to my second floor (home office) and think I remember seeing just four wood screws in each of the corners up through the sheet metal top.

Mine wasn't attached at all, tilted it up to attach the casters and it fell off.

Just to be clear, so this tool box / bench, is a regular item in Black Friday sales at $199, and if you want one the rest of the year, it's always $299?

I wasn't in a position to buy during BF sales, but am now ... but cannot bring myself to spend $299 on a $199 tool box.

Thanks

They usually go on sale after Christmas and clearance out around March/April. That was the pattern the last couple years for this and the 52" boxes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see if you're able to get the display model significantly cheaper especially within the next several weeks. Establish a good relationship with the manger, your mileage may vary :D

Nice, I will go this week.

If no deal that way, I'll wait out a few months. I'd rather pony up for the 44'' HF box closer to $400 than pay $299 for a box ''everyone'' else paid $199 for ...

Thanks

I bought one of these last fall when they went on sale and I have to say its a pretty solid rolling tool box. I think I am about to the point where I am going to go ahead and spend the money to get one of the large 52" double stack units for around 600 bucks and then take this box and move most of my smaller hand tools to that box and use this one for long or weird sized storage items, as well as mount a 6 inch vice to the top. The only catch 22 is most most of the drawers except the top and two bottoms ones are a little shallow. When I first got it a buddy of mine was critical that the top drawer only opened up about half way, and up until a month ago I thought that was a fact and was OK with it but I was watching something on Youtube where the reviewed it and never mentioned it as a draw back. I went out in the garage and fiddle with it some and I guess it turns out that if you do not take the drawer and force it open once, when you first get it, it is so hard to open that most folks think it won't open. I give it a hard pull and it opened all the way up and after that it opens fully with normal effort now, so if you notice the drawer not extending all the way, brace it or lock the wheels and give it a good solid effort to open all the way.

I've been looking at this box (wish I had the $$ around when they were on sale which is what drew me to it). Hope I'll have the $ when they go on sale again. Otherwise I'll save up for a better one or a combo.

Ugh I wanted one last year and didn't end up getting it. Really going to be hard to pass up if I go to the store today.

Bought two over the holiday sale, so ive had them for a few months now and like them.

Certainly not heavy duty, drawers wont close evenly unless you are careful.

But for $200 its definitely a great storage option.

Been thinking about building a Steevo bench with the HF 44's, but was hesitant to pull the trigger at $360 a pop.

Picked up 5 of these this AM; best part was they allowed me to use a 10% off moving coupon so I was out the door with 5 of them for under a grand.

They aren't HF and they aren't red, but life is full of compromises. I'm happy with the quality/value ratio, and besides, I'm not trying to make a living with them.

Going to put them along the side wall of my garage and will have to account for the slope.

I'm using four of them, I dropped the 5th one off at a buddy's house as a surprise; he's been talking about needing to get his tools consolidated and organized for quite a while. The look on his face was worth the 180 bucks; he's a good friend that has gone through hell with alimony, child support, etc. and would never have bought one for himself.

Going to put them along the side wall of my garage and will have to account for the slope; will post pics of the bench build; might be next year, though. Starting to get hot here in AZ, almost time to head back north for the summer...Thinking of something industrial looking...will have to go back through Rivenhhewn's build threads for something to plagiarize.

Picked two up this past Friday. I'm liking them so far. I would definitely get them in the store though. I had to go through 4 different ones and two stores, before I got one that wasn't banged up.

Love the "built in" feeling you did there. Looks like you removed the wheels?

Might need to steal this idea!

Thanks and yes, I did remove the wheels. The racks came from Costco.
