SP: i'm not an engine guy per se, but i do like when they work. that said i've heard many good things about old Cummins engines, but comparing yours to the one 1/2 Cup is building (I know his isn't a cummins) yours is not quite as pretty. :D

best of luck and i'll just watch and see what you end up doing.

as far as Honda small or car engines i have nothing but GREAT things to share about them. most if not all of my small engines are Honda and my wife has a CRV and i have a Pilot and my daughter has an Accord that all have over 150,000 miles on them and they all start up and go without to much work.

HOW'S THE SHOULDER? looks like you are getting caught up on the reading and from your long posts it looks like the typing isn't hurting the shoulder either.

cheers

Slim, I usually just sit and read, only sometimes do I respond. Just shy I suppose.
I find other peoples views absolutely fascinating. I would not condemn someone for their view because it is their view, which has been brought about by the environment that they live and have been raised in. Also by things that have happen to them thru life, and I hope to better myself from these things so that I can understand people better. By sharing our views they can sometimes give hope to other people that they are not alone or "different".

e.g. What right minded fool would get on the internet and ramble on to a bunch of unknown people that they will most probably never speak to or meet. WHY. Because we are sharing our thoughts and proud steps of life. "1/2" with his ability to make a simple bench look like a wild creative piece of art, "Buick Farmer" with his skill in developing a fasard of old time, "Your shop" of ever expansion that others only get to dream about. What a great bunch of people ey! ( that last one is for the Canadians and Queenslanders)

SP: if you have the talent to paint something either with a brush or spray paint can bring it on. any pictures of past projects or one(s) you want to do to add a little color to your thread i'm sure others here would appreciate it.

the picture of your view is AWESOME and i thought Montana was BIG SKY country so maybe just north of it sounds like it is too. here's a little view of the PNW from a ferry boat ride we took the other night. and a few pictures of downtown Seattle after we ate dinner on Alki a couple weeks ago.

glad to hear you had some QST and also that the shoulder is feeling better or at least ok now.

cheers

nice find on the cutters and i'm like Lyndon and didn't have a clue that those shapes on wood was made with a drill press and not pressed into the wood.

SP: not sure how wide the power strip is, but one idea for mounting is to get a 1x6 or maybe a 1x8 or 1x10 to mount the power station on so you'll have the wood to screw into the studs. i like all the options that thing has and i haven't seen one of those at our Costco yet so instead of just buying gas and shopping their once or every two months i should start going inside more often. it seems like i can't go in and just buy one or two things though and you might have the same issue trying to get out of there without spending all the cash in your wallet.

good plan for the Cummins engines. did you have to clean off the paint off that cracked weld and weld it back up on your mower deck? did that take long to do because it looked like a difficult spot?

SP: your driveway looks great and interesting that you knew the ants were causing the little ripples in the asphalt too.

you even make funny stories about can stealing thieves in your neighborhood. maybe they thought your place looked better without those sitting in front of it.

have a great weekend and i haven't heard a peep about the shoulder so guessing it's doing great so congrats.

Thanks for detailing that. I'm going to use that info in the future for my Father's plane.

SP: i also like the detailed descriptions you are including with your little plane restoration. i might have 20-50 of these laying around that all need a little spiffing up someday.

i'm just going to take a guess and bet that you are used to the snow and so is your area so you have less idiots driving around on the roads than we do when we get snow. i actually like it when it snows a foot and i get on the roads the second day (or a week later if snow is still around) after the idiots have all crashed or got stuck and are of the roads then.

i really bet with all the cold and snow you get that spring and summer is a welcome friend every year. yes??

now get back in your heated shop and finish that plane that you have all over your bench and you can cure part of your FSD (flat space disease). :D

Seriously..... I mean really SERIOUSLY!!!! 20 - 50?

Man, you need to get that compulsion under control. I worry that I've got one that I cherish but don't use........

I think I can recommend a shrink for that :dunno: (but she's down here - so the travel bill would be horrendous) :willy_nil.

Boy - your FSD disease has a competitor. Does SWMBO know?

Lyndon: i can't afford a garage full of Jags so instead of cash in the bank i like OLD TOOLS. call me crazy and make fun of me if you like, but my little collections of planes doesn't compete with my Clamp, vise, and hand tool collections. just saying

SP: sorry for the diversion now back to that PLANE you were spiffing up so nicely. OK? also how is the shoulder now? i'm betting better than new so dont F up and yank on something you should be using a winch or a fork lift on. not that you need to lose weight, but it would be great if you and a few other members would get your skinny butts over to my (our) GET HEALTHY thread that started off as a weight loss thread. i was doing ok and even though i could probably work it out on my own i admit i could use a little coaching at times and i'm sure others would enjoy the humor you can bring to a thread. here's the link:

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=298568

also since i don't have a garage gallery thread yet (who would want to see a little 10x15 which is my portion of a 2 car garage anyway) i put up pictures of my Pergola i built that i just took apart resanded, re stained and put back up which doesn't compare to your gate, but my wife actually was missing it and thought our front yard looked naked without it.

cheers

That had me giggling like a girl.

Well at least there's only 2 Jags. . . . . . :lol_hitti  :lol_hitti

Sorry Slim for the hijack! Oh, and I can't believe you've got snow already.... :dunno: :dunno: Mind you, you can have it. I like our temperate climate here, even if I sometimes think it's too hot, and sometimes too cold (like 30 degrees F :dunno: :willy_nil )......

It actually got worse before it got better. By the time the system blew through we had almost a foot of snow .... wet, wet, wet snow on the ground. It took down a few power lines and broke a few trees in the process. This is early for snow for us. Usually we don't see much until around the end of October. But it's supposed to go back up to +7 to +8 Celsius by the middle of this week. Snow cover is not good for the lawns whis early as they will get moldy and there will be a lot of kill from that. The best is to see some -10 weather for a week or so before the snow covers it up.

Cheers!!!

Reminds me of the TV series we get from your part of the world called "Highway Thru Hell."
