Slim, to me the house is garage related if it's attached or if it's on the same piece of property or if it's on the property where you plan to someday build a garage. Count me interested.Technically it is not garage related, so I'm not sure there would be much interest.
Slim, my brand new childhood home, built in 1952, had steam heating. I was seven and thought the house was going to collapse because of all the loud banging from the system. It took months to fix the problem caused by a faulty "automatic" air bleed valve. Dad bought one new valve and swapped it into one radiator at a time until the banging went away. I see your steam pipes are missing their asbestos pipe wrap. If you didn't remove them, did the previous owner rip them out and save them in a basement closet?the green pipes in the foreground are for the steam heating system.
