I have not used the Roloc style abrasive/conditioning pads. As a DIYer,would you recommend 2" or 3" size pads for general home shop/automotive use? Thanks
Everywhere I have worked they supplied the 2" discs. I have found the 3" disc tend to be too big for what I do. I do a lot of small engine and automotive work.
2 in for me. Had 3 in but it basically sat in the toolbox.
was only used on large flat surfaces which rarely occured. So 2 in.will be the best to start off with.
please practice on junk as you can ruin parts easily without knowing it.
Maybe it's because I'm uses to 2", but 3" just s seems big, foreign and weird to me. I consider them a small area cleaner as they are slow as hell doing a large area, so stick with 2" to fit in more areas.
I use both. I rarely purchase new 2" disc as I can always cut down a 3" disc and use it as a 2 inch, plus lots of time there will be plenty of usable surface area on a used 3 inch. I do this with both grinding disc and conditioning disc
