I am not a snap on guy in the least but my snap on #2 Phillips I got with my ratcheting screwdriver really grips the screws well. So well in fact that it usually gets stuck in them. For impact bits I use milwaukee.
For regular bits it's hard to beat these for the price.

I've had pretty good luck with Milwaukee for impact bits.
They don't.
Snap On 1/4" insert bits are made by Zeyphyr.
Yep, that's it.
I may swing by the HD today and get some of the Milwaukee ones and call it good possibly the makita gold
I usually get my bits from the Snap-On guy. His first reaction is to had me the anti cam out bits and I tell him "no, I want the other ones" The other bits are a little more blunt on the tip and seem to fit deeper into the screw. They also last a lot longer. I'll buy all that he has on the truck at the time.
If your still useing philips screws where you could be useing torx your living in the stone age my friend. Try torx drive. Hardly ever break (even the free ones u get with the box of screws) almost never strip out and they dont have as much of a habbit of trying to walk off the screw head.I mostly use with my kobalt impact driver but wouldn't be opposed to having some to use by hand as well. I went through 4 kobalt bits this past weekend altho I can't rule out the junk screws I bought I use as a bandaid on the horse stables in the corral since we had a home appraiser come by and lots of the boards were falling down. I don't even have horses so it's really just taking up space I'd really like to demo it and put a metal carport or something I could actually use. That's another project tho! Anyways steer clear of the grey "outdoor wood screws" from Lowe's. On stuff that matters I opt for the star bit screws. Altho I may be in the market for a nail gun soon!

Get ones that are impact rated. Most of mine are DeWalt. I have 3 or 4 different lengths.
I like Bosch. They have the drive grip on them. Severe me well for many years. Part number P2115TCB.
