I have been trying to figure out how to make an attachment to my 2 post lift to lift items higher than the current arms will allow. The picture is one example of how this would be useful. I would want something that could be easily attached and stored when not in use. Any ideas?. The deer is much easier to handle now.

You need something like an A frame or a gantry that you could easily and safely attach to the arms. Maybe an engine hoist that could be attached. I will be watching thread as I have the same want as you.

Assuming you aren’t lifting a large amount of weight (under 500#?), I would just make a simple mast that slides onto one of the 4 lift arms- or slide two arms of one the posts to the center and capture both arms in a saddle with a vertical mast and a horizontal member at the top to move the load towards center of both posts.... Not sure if this makes any sense? Basically picture the “frame” for a game of “hang man”.....

What if you stacked all of your extensions and bridged them with an appropriate timber? That might gain you 24 inches, especially if you fab a taller extension from lengths of pipe.

I couldn't think of anything that weighed over 500 pounds that I would need to lift. I followed the thread that was started about lift attachments for quite a while but have not seen anything on there. The hang man does make sense I was thinking about going that route and use the hole in the arm of the lift where the pad goes to secure it.
