2" jaws, 2" opening, and its an old school stud through the bench swivel! I need to come up with a big wing nut, and a plate better than that cut washer for under the bench, and replace the double nuts some wonk used to get the screw to retract the jaws on opening with something better (I may go with the Spring idea Parker used on the 0000 vise I just sent off) I suspect the screw is a replacement for something that was broken, and certainly the handle is not factory, but everything else says this was lightly used.
and the wire formers (no name) for $3 total;
I'm a sucker for a hunting book I guess... I almost left it though as they started at $3 and i put it back, they countered with $2 and I gave the book a dirty look and they asked what I would offer. I got it for a buck. They weren't happy but hey, that could have turned me down...

are you going to do with a 10" breaker?
) for $2 and two bucks for the drain guards, I already used 1... I'm thinking about using the balls as handle ends for DP's that are missing the ball or handle...Well, after several days of rain, including yesterday when the weather guessers said it wouldn't, and a little more last night, it cleared off and I had one of the best days for yardsailing in weeks!
The Irony, is that other than the Flea market, none of the scheduled stops got me anything! Except for the FM, this was all from Targets Of Opportunity!
TOO #1 no tools but some cool stuff: A rack of Poker chips, that were unusual and cheap, or I'd have left them. $3

A Glass vase for SWMBO. She likes these clear heavy square or rectangular vases for forcing bulbs around Xmas. $2
![]()
TOO #2 and older gent: "This will be my last yardsale! I'm moving!" he was also a WWII Vet. How rare is that anymore? Heck My dad was Korean war vet and he passed in Jan at 83... This gut had to be past 90...
2 Bondhus 1/2" ball hex drivers, a lantern globe, a brass Prop tank plug with a brass chain and ring, and a nos lantern striker. $2

TOO #3, A tiny Machinist vise! $5! For grins I weighed it, and its almost 6-1/2 lbs, so well under the so called buck a lb mar...2" jaws, 2" opening, and its an old school stud through the bench swivel! Markings are: AM Co, Athol Mass. USA on one side, and No. 10 on the other: is AM Athol?

the fleamarket was good to me: first stop was Craftsman Tin snips. Craftsman in outlined block letters... I've no clue on these for age/era...and the wire formers (no name) for $3 total;

Second was the tiny Winnie the Pooh book and I got that because SWMBO likes Pooh, and its title is "WTP and Piglet go Hunting!"I'm a sucker for a hunting book I guess... I almost left it though as they started at $3 and i put it back, they countered with $2 and I gave the book a dirty look and they asked what I would offer. I got it for a buck. They weren't happy but hey, that could have turned me down...
The Bonney DBE was a buck "because it's you; every one else I'd charge $2 for it" Hmmm I'm becoming a known fixture at this FM!
Then I got the Thorsen 77J open gear ratchet, and that 10" SK 1/2" breaker. it also has the square drive in the handle, so I'd have to say this is a 10" extension with breaker capability... becauseare you going to do with a 10" breaker?
![]()

What SK breaker bar?![]()
Ohhhhh, you must mean the 10" SK extension!
Sorry, It's going into my SK box...![]()

I'm also now kicking myself, the guy had 3 of them for $10 each, I only bought 1.
When I asked him for prices he first said $10 on the ratchet, looked at it then said "oh, I thought this was a torque wrench, it's only a ratchet, $5"
Hit my first two garage sales of the year. Spent a big $10.
The two coolest things out of the box. The screw driver is a hand drill pretty much. It has the different sized bits held in the handle, and you just push on it and it drills. I tested it out on my workbench, and it totally works. haha
I did! It was a bit wild this morning wasn't it? I'm actually going back tomorrow in the AM to pick up another saw. I hope it is still there. I don't know where that guy gets stuff, I mean he even had a pile of old boat hardware out there. Started at $15 on the vise but when I started walking off he said $10.00. Its just a little guy but it will be useful in my small basement shop.
.
lights. One new in the box. Both for $1. I'm still attached to the older glass bulb sets and this is the best way to get spare bulbs and strings.

).
but the price was right and look at the base!!
I finally got my dual post Craftsman base and once I flip the lathe, it should be free and maybe even make some change...
Jeff:
Smokeshow: i think you probably paid $10 too much for that Craftsman bottom rolling toolbox, but luckily I'm not far and i can reimburse you the $10 and pick it up so you won't have to clean it or have to mess with it. i had a few friends going to that Portland swap meet and I've never been. how was it because they always say it's a great way to spend a few days?
Great day at the sales today! Snagged a few nice tools for a song.
Pic #1:
3-hole punch by Master Products of Los Angeles, CA. I don't know why I buy these 3-hole punches, I already have 3 of them. But this one was cast steel, and well made, for $2
Pic #2: all for $6

Proto 19/32 combo wrench
Pic #3: all for $8
Proto 5249 3/8-inch ratchet
Craftsman heavy-duty needle-nose pliers
pair of Proto LA sockets, one 3/8-drive deep and other 1/4-drive
Pic #4: all for $5

Ridgid 8-inch pipe wrench
and, best find of the day:
Schick-brand made in USA 12-inch non-sparking adjustable wrench, marked "5120-264-3794-ALBR". I assume the first numbers are the military Field Stock Number (predates the National Stock Number) for this item. Last is ALBR, ALuminum Bronze? Not sure what alloy this is.
Want to make the Schick wrench shine again, but heard that wire brushing BERYLCO (a similar non-sparking alloy) makes Beryllium airborne which is toxic. What alloy is this wrench, and how would you recommend making it shine again without killing me?
