Well guys, looks like a lot of good buying this weekend. I decided to flip the role for a bit and sell a bunch of my junk at the flea market all weekend. Believe me when I say I got rid of a lot I had piled up.

All I can say is it's funny being on the other side of the transaction out there. Dealing with the crowd is ROUGH! I did buy 8 Craftsman ratchets for $30 and flipped 6 of them while I was there.

My neighboring vendor threw me this 4" adjustable wrench for watching his space. Then when I went to use the bathroom he sold one of my $10 items for $4 . What a nice guy! I think he was hung over from Saturday night, said he spent $300 on a woman he met in a bar . He offered me the difference, but I was doing good so I let it slide even though he had no business selling my stuff.

Here it is, a local XCELITE piece:

attachment.php

3baygarage,

Nice pick-up on the Xcelite and a 4" one to boot . I have a couple of older Orchard Park Xcelite adjustables and those are really smooth and tight. I don't see too many around though.

I took a quick stroll through the Walden Flea outdoor area on Saturday at about 2:00 pm but came away empty handed. Hopefully things pick up shortly with the estate and garage sales.

May I add a belated, "You ****!"?
Thou suckest mightily, indeed.

Thank you kind sir. And thanks to everyone else for the shared wisdom. Without you guys, I might have passed all of these things up.

After I clean, sort, and organize everything (almost done), repaint the KRA (partially primed), and make a butcher block top and "accessories" for the Kennedy (getting there), maybe I'll take some pictures for the 'show us your toolbox' thread. 95% of it will be filled with garage sale/flea market finds. :)

Did anyone in Nor-Cal/Sacramento area hit the estate sale this morning? There were two vintage Fords there, one was an all-original 1935 Ford pickup in restored condition.
I went to this car-guy's garage diggers/estate sale and did ok.

No luck lately with Garage sales so I went to a pawn shop today and they had three bins full of sockets, screwdrivers, and wrenches .. The great part? ALL of them on clearance for ONE DOLLAR EACH! :shocking:

Only got this Stanley socket screwdriver today, it's scratch-less. Seems unused? even came with a two sided flat head bit. :dunno:

I'll be back tomorrow when I have time to plunder through the wrenches and sockets!

Nice finds Low buck! I like the ****** jack; what brand is it and the sockets?

The ****** jack mfg is unknown, but the bottle jack/ram on it looks just like the Blackhawk jack I picked up at the same place... so could be a Blackhawk. I couldn't find any ID plate on it. The floor/service jack is a Fleet model and both jacks still hold pressure! I got a good deal on them.
The sockets are a mix of Proto and Williams.
UPDATE: did some searching and found that my ****** jack is a Blackhawk T-1B!

Nice. My XCELITE collection is pretty darn small.
Too bad I didn't see you, I think I'd recognize you.
Bet you probably stopped by or passed me at some point. I can't wait for things to pick up elsewhere too, but there were a mess of tools out there at least early Sat..

I needed a 3/4 inch ratchet and this one popped up on Craigs with a few sockets and wrenches. not sure if i made a good buy at $75 because I might not use it much, but it had the cool factor to it. i bought it from the grandson of the original owner and can't find a name on it. anybody have one or care to guess?

oh yea and hopefully it will work because didn't have a big enough nut handy to test it out when i bought it.

I stopped by an estate sale today, and the estate sale guy said you should have gotten here earlier, all of the good stuff is gone:shocking:. Oh well.

I've never heard of ABC or KAL, but all the other Japanese stuff I have is good or better.

A couple of Blue Line wrenches, and like several other items they are engraved.

Some Snap-on (my first), and look the previous owner made me a cute little 5/16" offset wrench:wtf:.

I just got these because I thought they were interesting. Does anyone know anything about them? They are blank on the other side.

Craftsman

Another just for the interest. Do you think my Land Cruiser will mind me using this wrench on it?

Only missing four bits.

The little screw driver is for my wife. She has a small collection of mini-tools. It is a proto with mfd. 9671 on it. Is this a date? Does anyone know how old it is if not?

Know anything about Wright?

Paid $25+ tax, and a few will actually see plenty of use.

Know anything about Wright?

The 9671 is the stock number for Proto for that tool. It doesn't look that old, a couple decades at most.

Wright makes excellent industrial-quality tools. Very tough, when I see them at flea markets I buy every Wright tool I can find for a good price.

Petveedub, those stamped wrenches are probably either Globe Master, or Oxwall, which specialized in the least expensive ( and often the lowest quality) tools both made in the USA in their own plant, or made overseas in both Germany and Japan in the early post war years through the 60's

Taumac, that box, looking like new, for EIGHT bucks? No typo?

LOL, no typo. I said it to good to be true. I texted and said still available and double checked price. I grabbed it once I got off work with friend cause I thought fishy. Went there handed her 8 buck and threw it in truck and ran. There's only few paint flaws but and surface rust in places. Humidity in FL seems to do that to boxes even if garage kept. Its date coded 9/94. uploadfromtaptalk1397694274918.jpg

I know it was missing the top lock but just realized the locking rod is missing. Oh well.

 Seriously, that is what I thought. I hope he had the decency to at least give them a $10. Geeze. Deal of a lifetime right there.

Aw, total rip off. I'd try to take it back if I was you. :lol_hitti

Hell, I paid asking price. I don't know what was going on at that house but she was surly selling a lot of tools. I asked but the tools where gone she said. I looked around and that was about last tool related item around. I have a locksmith in town maybe one day I run by and see if have a lock and rods for that. If not I think I can get it from craftsman if I choose to.

Picked this up last weekend at a garage sale for $20. Almost a Full set of Blackhawk wrenches. Pop rivet gun and rivets, vise grips, punches, an antique hand drill, swiss army knife with the toothpick and tweasers still there! Tons of other good stuff. I didn't know what all was in there until just now. Feel pretty good about 20!

All I saw was Blackhawk wrenches and vise grips so that justified the 20 to me!

Good job jake, I was hoping you wouldn't refrain. That is a nice box for the money, not to mention the other items. Welcome to the "I own a battle scarred vise club" they may not be pretty, but they work.

And uhm, so about that catalog. Any cool box pictures or specs? :D

zkling - Your PM folder is full, so I can't PM you to let you know that I have the catalogs scanned. Clear some space and we can talk.

Outlawmws - The files are too large to post on GJ (the combined zip file is 132MB, the limit is 146KB). Using a lower resolution to make the files smaller makes it hard to read the fine print, and doesn't make a crisp image. Any ideas of how I can share the files with the rest of the members without opening an account with a file sharing service ? (not my thing).
