Outlaw would not string us along, waiting patiently.
I'l try! This may not all get done tonight!
And thanks guys!
All this is "as found". No real cleanup unless it's to wipe off dust or wet oil/grease. The sellers told me their father was a life long mechanic, on aircraft starting in the navy, then with the airlines. there were tools everywhere, and If I wasn't the first one in there, it was close to it. certainly the usual scalper types had not been through. the "kids" were around my age so I'm guessing the father could have been a Korean war vet, but there was one much older guy. If he was an older brother, the father was a WWII vet.
Claim was he'd been in the house 50 years. it looked like it. the work bench was 8 ft of I think bowling ally lane. Well greased. sitting on top of two tool chests. One hand made from aluminum, the other a three drawer factory, probably 50's.
there were carry boxes everywhere, and another three drawer roller that looked like a Pressteel, but no markings.
First bag up: the "delicate's" went into the medics' bag. No markings, I think it's likely WWII (I think all the bags are WWII)
Wood working: Luffkin 6' folding rule with a brass depth gauge, a TINY Yankee driver, No. 35. -a bit of oil and it worked perfectly (I left several more less interesting drivers and push drills), a small draw knife (the blade is bigger than it looks, its the angle), and a wood spoke shave
Hand Vise (USA), Hand drill, wet stone on a block, raw hide mallet inserts for a LARGE mallet, and a 10" plastic prop.
Hand drill reciprocating saw attachment, Military Sight scope (no magnification), a steel bar, and a steel ball (vice handle materials), Mitotoyo dial calipers (need cleaning), and something for doing Magnafluxing. (need to research this one)
Locks: the two American's use the same key! and a brass lid stay/keeper bar.
The two Torque wrenches: Both Apco Mossberg, one a click stop 1/4" drive the other a dial 3/4" drive 33 inches overall length. Yes the handle is crooked on the big one. The housing is cracked, so a wall hanger, but WHAT a wall hanger!
And not from the bag, the jack. I think this is for maneuvering equipment. No markings but I suspect its about 10-15 ton, and will clear 6-1/2" fully depressed. It at least needs fluid, but I tried lifting on the piston and it has "compression" so it's likely good to go once it gets fluid added.
Working on Bag #2 (4 all told)
