Not really a garage sale find but a deal sourced through a friend of a friend. 2 Dorman Parts organizers $20 each. Not a screaming deal but I am pretty happy with them.

I'll see your $20 and raise you $5. I've been looking for these around here, but haven't seen them for less than $40.

Hey, did someone say Dorman?

Nice Dorman drawers Jeremy.

I just picked this up about 3 weeks ago with the contents for $5. Not pretty/sorta beat but worth the price I thought.

I was real happy with a middle of the week visit to ReStore. Picked up 4 cool tools that weren't overpriced and were in good condition. First was a pair of fence pliers. Some really early no. 1932 pliers that don't have the size stamped on them and has "Pat. Apl'd For" stamped on the obverse. They work smooth as silk and saw little use, if any. Next was a small 2" C-clamp from Cinncinati Tool, called the Super Jr. I love the macho stamping on the side: "FORGED STEEL, HEAT TREATED, MADE IN U.S.A." Makes me want to go workout at the gym.

Maybe later . . .

Then I found an unknown pair of scissors, a no. 4276 made by Clauss. I've no clue what they are but they look tough enough to cut wire. Last is a WW2 era pair of JP Danielson thin nose 6" pliers that look unused albeit slightly rusty. All for 10 bucks. I had to give up my lunch money but it was worth it

A customer brought me this old SK 1/2" socket set because he knew I collected old tools. What a nice surprise! The set appears to be missing the ratchet (like I care) but is otherwise complete. 1940's I would guess. Inside the box was a PLOMB T- handle my first ever PLOMB tool, and an underline Craftsman 12" extension. Nice way to start the day.

0000 steel wool and WD40

This works well; you can also go at it with a light touch and a fine wire wheel. Use a polishing approach. I do impacts and alleys that way all the time. You can also add a light oil to the process, but be warned, it gets VERY messy...

I saw this toolbox and just had to have it for some odd reason, lol!

img_2424.jpg

img_2425.jpg

Key Included!

img_2426.jpg

Drawers had carpet in them so they were in great shape!
img_2423.jpg

img_2422.jpg

It's stamped 03/70 on the bottom.

I also got these V series large wrench with the deal, 7/8" to 1 1/4" in size, looks to be hardly used and just have toolbox wear!
img_2427.jpg

img_2428.jpg

I gave a c-note for it all! Not too shabby I thought!

Nice scores nine!! I'm digging the grinder pedestal and of course the Gerstner. I had a chance to buy one a few years back filled with tools for $250, but I didn't have enough $$ at the time. I still have nightmares about losing that deal:willy_nil.

Is that Craftsman wrench holder for metric ones? You hooked me up with the SAE one that was listed on ebay last year.

I've only had the chance to buy one Gerster and it was shot, missing a drawer, door, mirror, wrap and it was falling apart so I passed. This one is really nice, only missing the door but I can't use a door on my table anyway and one drawer need a small repair. I am beyond thrilled! This wrench holder is for the SAE.

Great day Nine4!!

Yes, thanks! :rocker:

Nice Cman box. I had the matching top box 2 years ago. I regret selling it to this day.

The guy had the top but he wouldn't sell it. It was in just as good of a shape as this lower. Plus on top of that he had what looked like a complete sk wayne 3/8" drive socket set with wrench and 1/4" drive set for sell, He said he wanted another cnotes for those and I was like, :willy_nil:sad:. I didn't have that kind of cash for the week so I had to leave them behind.

FIL passed away 2.5 years ago, and my MIL asked me to help clean her basement this week. Told me to take whatever I could use. This represents about 1/5 of the tools from her late husband. The rest are going to be sold off or sourced to local craftsman and tradesmen. Must be three generations of tools down there.

Lots and lots of crowntop Craftsman stuff. Lots of it. In new or like-new condition. Some of it never used. Just amazing. He had three daughters, and only one has any interest in tools.

I'll comb through it when I get back to Chicago on Monday.

Madison, I have the same box with the top box. But nothing like the condition of yours. I paid $100 a year or two back with a few worthwhile tools and a bunch more junk in it.
Great score.

Guys,
Need some help. I am not a Craftsman collector. I can identify Craftsman Circle-H and BE tools because they are wartime. But I know nothing about toolboxes. This box looks mid- to late-40's to me, but that's just a SWAG. I've seen a similar box with a leather handle that was definitely 40's. The tools in it are underline-Craft sman Circle-H 40's (which could be misleading if the box was picked up in the 50's.) I remember guys finding boxes like this, if not exactly like this. Hoping someone will know definitively. I plan to clean it up and sell it, but need to know some facts first. Thanks in advance.
