Thanks. Yeah, it was a busy one too. Were you there?
Nice Craftsman Jeff. I forgot, weren't those catalog only?
Not sure...but I do not remember ever seeing them in stores.

Here are some more, it really seems like something was bolted inside. I There are lots of threaded holes around the box. There is and looks like
closer view of the latch![]()
a shot of the bottom with a bunch of threaded holes![]()
inside the box![]()
inside shot of the lid, the lid has hinges which when open allow the lid to slide off the body of the box.![]()
Yeah the cart really moves nicely around the shop/garage. It does a much better job of moving gas bottles than the modern cart I already had. I haven't found much on its age but the burdett company ran from the 1900s to the late 60s. It would be interesting to find out for sure but I have hit a dead end
Yup, I took a lot of metric out of there the first day! Stopped again today for the third time this weekend and he's wheeling and dealing on prices. He'll be open Monday which is his last day.
We are a 24 hr crowd around here. We probably could have found you a sale or two to go to. Of course we would have already cleaned it out !!
Or at least offered to show you the finer points of the Downriver area.Zug Island is beautiful this time of year.

i'm home. heres the pix of the boxes i got last fri.
the MBC is 1961 and has a poor repaint.
the huot i cannot find a date stamp but i believe it's approx the same age.

Alright, First Post in one of my fav. threads.
I was headed out to meet a friend for dinner last night.
Out by the curb next to a free sign::
Kennedy 526-9370 8 drawer
Remline F-5468 7 drawer

THose are some nice boxes!!
I haven't posted any pics from the last few sales but here they are!!
This is last Friday and Saturday, spent $23 on it all

A almost full box of .22 shells, a proto nose plier, some gun cleaning supply, copper bbs, two calculators I thought was cool but one of them doesn't work.
![]()
Proto box that I already cleaned up with no problem, and a proto 1/4" driver with a 7/16" socket. then a drum sander and few little things.
Then this weekend I scored all of this for $60, a little more then I normally pay but I wanted that big channel lock and the 24" snap on extension, 18" Craftsman =V= extension, 1/2" drive snap on breaker bar, some emery cloth, and two hammer, I think one is brass and the other is copper berilum.

And all of this was included,

I'm still going through it, but there was craftsman, New Britain, Sparta, and a bunch of other random brands.
Me and one other guy was at this sale and the guy that was doing the sale said anyone interested in a vise, I said yes! and the guy said the vise is upstairs and the other guy that was there ran up the stairs and started taking the vise off the bench before I got there since I was behind the guy that was running the sale. It was a Wilton bullet and the guy wanted $40 for that and a westinghouse motor turned into a grinder.![]()
OK guy's, this jack Diddly dude gets his first USUCK on his first GS post!
And he didn't even have to get up and get out there.
beatcad, where did you find the date stamp on the mbc box? i have a atzac box that is made by mbc and can not find a date stamp on it. still looking for a right hand cover support for it. jim

Thanks Guys!
Definitely not a hoax, just happened to be in the right place at the right time (honestly if my friend weren't running so late yesterday I probably would have missed out)
I cleaned em up a bit before I took pics- they were dirty.
If I didn't already know better:
A few goodies from a sale a month ago. Went back on last day and the vise was still there. got it for $15. Not as good but the NOS files are my favorite, I have a thing for files and to find Vintage NOS is stunning. I paid under $5 for 14 NOS files.
Picked up this beast last weekend, apparently an older lady had somehow acquired this and used it for sewing work to measure cloth for who knows how long. As pictured I taped it to an 8ft long board for transport.
It is a Starrett C416R-72, graduated in 32nds, 64ths, 50ths and 100ths of an inch, six feet long by 1.5" wide by .1" thick.
Looks like the ends took a bit of damage which is unfortunate, however it is mostly cosmetic. The chrome chipping makes it look bad. The edges of the rule themselves are in fairly good shape.
Brand new on Amazon this steel rule is $818, I got it for a lot less than that.
