Here are some more, it really seems like something was bolted inside. I There are lots of threaded holes around the box. There is and looks like

inside the box

inside shot of the lid, the lid has hinges which when open allow the lid to slide off the body of the box.

Yeah the cart really moves nicely around the shop/garage. It does a much better job of moving gas bottles than the modern cart I already had. I haven't found much on its age but the burdett company ran from the 1900s to the late 60s. It would be interesting to find out for sure but I have hit a dead end

First Post in 5 or 6 days, I was gone on a Hunting trip! (nice trip but no deer, cause of no rain... (and lots of fires this season)

Yep I agree, Military, possibly Air force, portable equipment box. These make great boxes for this and that. I've several that are in different configurations I use for different purposes.

Well I only had time to skim the last few pages, but WOW, you guys are doing great for this time of the season! Johanson cutoff, A versa vise, swivel head ratchets, the list goes on and on!

Well Done!

Yup, I took a lot of metric out of there the first day! Stopped again today for the third time this weekend and he's wheeling and dealing on prices. He'll be open Monday which is his last day.

Grabbed a bit more, got about $150 here.

Slew of various snap-ring piers of all types (bluepoint, otc, waldens truarc/rotor clip), mix of Cornwell and SK deep sockets, mix of random sockets but all of the impacts are 3/8" Snap-On sets, mix of proto and Cornwell extensions/swivels, Cornwell spinner, 4" utica adjustable, and a snap-on bushing driver set.

THose are some nice boxes!!

I haven't posted any pics from the last few sales but here they are!!

This is last Friday and Saturday, spent $23 on it all

img_3051.jpg

A almost full box of .22 shells, a proto nose plier, some gun cleaning supply, copper bbs, two calculators I thought was cool but one of them doesn't work.

img_3049.jpg

Proto box that I already cleaned up with no problem, and a proto 1/4" driver with a 7/16" socket. then a drum sander and few little things.

Then this weekend I scored all of this for $60, a little more then I normally pay but I wanted that big channel lock and the 24" snap on extension, 18" Craftsman =V= extension, 1/2" drive snap on breaker bar, some emery cloth, and two hammer, I think one is brass and the other is copper berilum.

img_3069.jpg

And all of this was included,
img_3071.jpg

I'm still going through it, but there was craftsman, New Britain, Sparta, and a bunch of other random brands.

Me and one other guy was at this sale and the guy that was doing the sale said anyone interested in a vise, I said yes! and the guy said the vise is upstairs and the other guy that was there ran up the stairs and started taking the vise off the bench before I got there since I was behind the guy that was running the sale. It was a Wilton bullet and the guy wanted $40 for that and a westinghouse motor turned into a grinder.:sad:

That bulk pack of .22 ammo alone was worth the $23. Everything else you got after that was pretty much free!

I agree GP, the bulk pack of .22 was pretty much full still. Looked like they might have pulled 30 or so out of it as it's almost to the top.

The BB will come in handy also as I found out i was out of BB for my air rifle so worked like a charm!

Thanks Guys!
Definitely not a hoax, just happened to be in the right place at the right time (honestly if my friend weren't running so late yesterday I probably would have missed out)
I cleaned em up a bit before I took pics- they were dirty.
If I didn't already know better:

A few goodies from a sale a month ago. Went back on last day and the vise was still there. got it for $15. Not as good but the NOS files are my favorite, I have a thing for files and to find Vintage NOS is stunning. I paid under $5 for 14 NOS files.

Got all of this at a flea market. I need to go alone next time. The family was complaining about me looking for tools. Almost all USA except for some West German Black and Decker sockets.

Not sure what I will do with the 2" combination wrench (Armstrong). Lol, it was too cheap to pass up at $7. I paid $81 for everything. Craftsman, Matco, Mac (lot of the impacts are MAC), Snap On, SK, and Channellock are among the grabs. The two rasps are pretty large as well. I didn't have any six point wrenches prior to this and I picked up 11.

Picked up this beast last weekend, apparently an older lady had somehow acquired this and used it for sewing work to measure cloth for who knows how long. As pictured I taped it to an 8ft long board for transport.

It is a Starrett C416R-72, graduated in 32nds, 64ths, 50ths and 100ths of an inch, six feet long by 1.5" wide by .1" thick.

Looks like the ends took a bit of damage which is unfortunate, however it is mostly cosmetic. The chrome chipping makes it look bad. The edges of the rule themselves are in fairly good shape.

Brand new on Amazon this steel rule is $818, I got it for a lot less than that.

Last weekends sales were slow but fell into the "everythings 50 cents or a dollar" realm.

A bunch of Cincinnati Tool Comapny Junior c-clamps for $1 piece. I know, Cincinnati Tool comapany tools where I live. WTF!! LOLZ.
A nice 25 foot old skool ROE USA made finger return tape measure for $1
A Craftsman USA impact driver for $1 missing the collar and bit drive end, but works perfectly. And uses the typical drive bit holder cap same as any hand impact 1/2" drive.
Gedore Made in German DOE 24/27mm combo for $1. Needs a little love.

For the jeffmoss26, a real Mac Green Stubby and Vaughan TapBoy Chicago USA bottle opener. I can only assume this was part of the Vaughan hammer metal works out of Chi-Town, and as for the Mac stubby, ebay only brings up red. Hmmm.
Both in the 50 cents a piece pile.

I snapped a couple of close ups of the guts of the impact so you can see how the v-cam rides on the set screw as the shaft turns when it is hit.
It's very frankenstein, but works. Worth the $1 price. :)

Hydraulic/mechanical mill vise. 150mm wide, 305mm opening. clamping 44Kn. Very little marks from use, jaws still good. Got it for a good price, still the owner knew it was a valuable item.
Since buying it I repainted it and changed the hydraulic oil.

Cleaned up around the shops and took a trip to the scrap yard to drop off some light iron. First thing I tossed out of the back of the van (a large microwave) almost smashed into the front of this poor guy. Luckily I noticed it at the last second and changed the trajectory. I quickly ran over to the weigh-in lady and asked if they sold stuff from the pile. At 50 cents a pound I became the proud new owner of this Kennedy tool box for $15. It's surprisingly clean inside too!

I wish I could say it's hard to believe that anyone would throw something like that out, but its not.

Way too many stupid people out there who have no idea the true working value of things.

Hit 2 sales today from work.

First was an estate sale that had lot's of tool pics. By noon the cream had been skimmed off and the prices were HIGH. I picked up 4 Williams wrenches for $2.00.

Down the road was a garage sale being run by a little old lady. She had TONS of PRISTINE stuff. Her husband was a union carpenter and passed away a few years ago. He had quality stuff and she it along with the going prices so no great bargains.

I picked up a pack of 10 Starrett RS1218 hacksaw blades for $7.00 and an apparently unused Excellite long #2 Screwdriver for $3.00.
