Mavawreck, awesome hatchet. I tend to grab them when I find them cheap. They have a fun medieval feel.

Hit 2 sales today. A garage sale run by two old ladies. I picked up a tag for $2.00 - pic below.

The second sale was a washout - nothing I needed and prices too high.

You guys are doing pretty good for the "off" season!

Rained hard, so zero TOO',s but one of two estate sales got me this for $3.

Smallest Gas (Utica) and battery (Blue Bird) pliers I've seen, Pexto 6" lineman's, Crescent tool (Jamestown)slip joint Pliers, and the dykes tricked me: I saw three interconnected diamonds and grabbed them. after cleaning there were "K"'s inside each diamond! :wtf: Made in Japan, so not associated with the Klan!. a 1" Adjustable clamp and 1" & 2" Bink & Cotton clamps, 1/2" 1/2" 8 pt SK socket, and a craftsman swivel 9/16:

Hit two sales today on the affluent side of town. One was an estate that was right on Lake St.Clair and the property bordered the house/grounds of Edsel & Elenanor Ford.
Spent less than a $100 and ended up with what I believe to be some rare/unique Plomb/Ranger AT items. spanner wrenches, extensions, combo wrenches etc. along with some SK sockets, Bonney extension,Craftsman sockets etc and a big piece of brass/bronze decoration.

Second sale had a few tools and after some digging came up with these:
PowrKraft metric socket set, looks complete, some interesting pliers, channelocks,Vaco screwdrivers ,Armstrong wrenches. This sale was a little easier on the wallet at under $50.

Thanks msgtsmithret, I picked it up at an estate sale of an old man who worked at Sears for a number of years. Are you retired from the service?

I think this will be a final installment from my adventure in the neighbors garage. Most of the big tools are gone and the stalls have been sifted through fairly throughly....or so I thought. Here is most of today's haul:rocker:

The iPad takes big pictures so I'll do this one by one and try to name off what's in each

C D Johanssen comparator
Stanley Magna-light with 3 articulating arms. It's dirty but really cool
Pratt and Whitney tool in the box. No idea what it is or does
Do-All optical flat
Assorted indicators, most don't work and are for parts. There is at least 50 of them in the bags and box

CE Johanssen comparator. The other one is in the first picture
Large Plomb lawsuit wrench
Proto soft face hammer inserts, new in the box
2 speed dials. Not sure if these are off a milling table or something else
Bag of starrett no.C359 vernier protractors heads. Might be for parts and I won't know until I go through them one by one

BC: sorry to hear your hunting over at the neighbor's house and garage is at it's end, but looks like you found some interesting things again. whether you got it for free or gave a nice donation to the widow you probably saved a lot of cool stuff for you or whoever can use those things.

She's made quite a bit from the machinery that was sold off before I ever arrived so I'm not too worried. All pricing was done by a trusted auctioneer and a friend of the deceased. They are just trying to get to rid of the loose stuff on the floor and cabinets

my 1st thought was it was an old dentists piece.

So my only find for today was at a local scrapyard that actually sells stuff which is a score in itself. Wilton Wood working vise, pretty good shape, looks to be original paint. Figured i couldn't go wrong for a 9 dollar wilton.

He's not done. He's just trying to convince himself not to go back and search for all the goodies he missed. He'll fail. He'll keep going back until the walls are scrubbed clean.

He'll be haunted by that "just one more thing" that he passed on. It will swim in his nightmares until he can't take it anymore and will be arrested at 3am rooting around in the garage like a lunatic stalker talking to himself about finding "my precious".

Mark my words, we haven't seen the last post from that treasure trove yet.

That's exactly what it is. A wishbone armed articulating dental drill mostly used for hobby work but I guess I could start a dentist practice out of the garage.

Yeah, you are probably right. I really have hit bedrock there and I don't think there is anything left to mine out in the garage

The house is another matter though:D. Lots of goodies inside like old model trains, vintage cowboy boots and other cool items. She's just focusing on one area at a time.

Great stuff (as usual). I peaked at your high-res pics. Very clear. Easy on the eyes.

I lost my camera in my garage a few months ago; it was not very good so..... I'm in need of a new camera. If I might ask, what did you use to take the pics?

And every so often at sales I find the guys old **** stash and yesterday was one of those days. These were stashed up high on a cabinet and look to be from the late 60s early 70s. Forgo buying tools that week if he paid $25 for these. $25 could have bought some nice tools back then. Didn't pay for these the Lady at the sale wanted them gone.

Marty, that B&C clamp is HUGE. I don't think I've seen one that big that wasn't a bridge clamp. What is it, 14 inches? Maybe 16?

Only seen hard **** at one estate sale. (Not counting *******/Penthouse. That's too mainstream)
