I cast my vote for nine too.
Great pick.

Great pick.

Not to break up the vote, my score from CL from this weekend! 10 drawer Montgomery Wards Powr Kraft Tool Box. Couple minor dents to be straightened on the back of the bottom drawers and it could use a good scrubbing otherwise great condition. $60

Not sure if he posted in here but my you **** of the year goes to that guy who bought an old Porsche tool kit for a pittance which he then sold for thousands of dollars on ebay...Alot of good deals this year in this thread. With the year coming to a close, which would you guys consider the "deal of the year"? Any particular one stand above the rest?
I came across a red SK tool box. Its a hand tool box with two drawers. The only marking's I can find on it are Made In USA, S 4-80, and the traditional green letter, SK tools name plate on the front. Iv'e done some basic research on the internet and I cant seem to find anything. I also have a 1/2" and 3/8" Craftsman Stainless ratchet. Iv'e read a little about the craftsman's, but the Snap-On 1/8" drive set iv'e never seen before, and the Snap-On 1/4" ratchet MV 71 seem's to be military issued? And i'm curious of its age! Any information would be deeply appreciated!
The bottom one is a Carpenter's Box. The cutout is so a Square can stick out of the top.
That's pretty cool. I was wondering what that was there for. Thanks for the info.
Got these tonight. The bottom one is 30" wide, the top one... I can't remember.
$10, picked them on from someone on one of those Facebook yard sale pages.
Ended up actually giving the guy $20. When I picked them up, he took the $10 and helped me load them up, but mentioned how his wife posted them on there without asking him for a price first. He had offered them to a buddy for $25 and then his wife sold them for $10. Lol. He was appreciative that I offered up the extra $10 without him asking, and I was still glad I got them for that price. Now I can cram all of those craftsman tools that I don't use in them.

Mudman, that thick ax head may have been for splitting kindling out of firewood. any markings on it? what does the eye look like? (hard to tell if it were factory or hand made... I've seen both)
Nice finds!
That is the mark of the Atha Tool Company which was eventually acquried by Stanley in the 1913. Production of Atha-marked tools continued for several decades after the Stanley acquisition. They made top-quality striking tools.
Mudman,
Judging from the slim handle, I think that hammer may be a mason's hammer for splitting stones after they have been scored.

Most of the mass is towards the rear of the hammer. Not sure if that sways you as to what it is. I don't envision doing any masonry work but I will try it on fire wood to make kindling. It does have a chip out if it which I would think would be more likely with stone work that splitting wood. Both suggestions seem feasible.
$30 at two second hand stores. Badger and Kidde 20lb Fire extinguishers fully charged and recently inspected. Fiskars scissors, Cman USA nut driver set, staples, faucet repair kit(USA), Mustang grill symbol, Swingline stapler, unknown ball pein, larger hammer shaped like an axe but seems to thick to be an axe, Century (west Germany) lineman pliers, Stanley USA hand plane and a tube repair kit. Pretty happy since I wanted some decent extinguishers for the garage.
Before all you guys on the other coast, (or wherever else you live) sign off foreve.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
