Probably my last score of the year, partially a LARGE score!

That Williams wrench measures out to 16" long, so yea, that was my large score photo

Not a bad haul for $30. Anyone recognize this script?

Rick - The clamp is a Stearns. I've picked up and restored a few of them.
For some reason, the logo often ends up mashed. It may have been a bad mold, but I see a lot of them like that.

The picture is of clamps I've picked up a YS's and FM's and restored. There are Stearn, Hargrave, Cincinatti Tool, and a few others. All with the winged screw.

 Never can have too many clamps.

That's just the winged clamps. I have another row on the other side of the shop with standard slide bar screws as well. Oh, and I almost forgot the milk carton full of 4" spring clamps. And the pile of pipe clamps in the corner. And ..................

Damn, now I'm jonesin' for clamp score but there aren't any Estate Sales listed for the weekend yet. :pimpflash :willy_nil

Rick, Nice end of the year score!

Mud, phone wire punch downs. Used in the central junction areas I'm sure, but also in larger company installations. I've got a board in my garage since I went a bit crazy wiring my hose about 18-19 years ago.

No more bent or twisted yokes either !

I picked up a bent 4" Wilton a while ago. I didn't notice until after I cleaned it and lubed it and was putting it on the rack. I think that one is going to take some heat to get it back into proper form.

BJ42, Is it a std weight clamp or one of the extra heavy or bridge clamps? a std 4" clamp can be straightened cold easily. The one I did sat was 5" and still did it cold.

I hate when that happens I accidentally bought a old cracked one a month ago.

It's one of the standard ones. Still pretty stout. I think it's one of the small ones in this pic (fuzzy due to scratches on my phone camera. Damn). In fact, the 6" may be easier to tweak than the 4"-ers.

Any of those can be straightened cold as describe above; been there, done that.

It DOES require a well anchored vise however...

Thank you! Not sure it is something I will ever use.

I will be breaking out my Harris today to punch down a new Cat-5 jack at my workbench. I have a jury rigged pair of Cat-5 patch cords with a mini-switch joining them to reach my workbench.

The only reason I'm fixing it is that I need the switch elsewhere.

Cheers

Jim

Picked up a KD 1/2 socket set last weekend. Don't need it, but for $15 I couldn't pass it up. May be a Christmas present for someone next year. 7/16 to 1-1/4 SAE.

Beat - At the end of 2013, it was decided that the person that had the best haul in 2013 should start the 2014 thread. By consensus (of those still following the thread at that time) the honor was given to Outlaw. The tradition was revived for the 2015 thread (by a few insomniacs who posted) and Nine (in absentia) was elected to start the new thread on New Year's Eve.

Actually I think suggested it should be among the top 5 or 10 for post count, and voted on. I didn't realize it would be a draft! So this year I "nominated" Nine...

I don't think the same guy should serve two years running, so don't get any ideas... :pimpflash

Went to look at a filing cabinet today, guy had a bunch of tools he was looking to sell. Walked away with this stuff for $63. The Macsimizer set is missing the big Philips, but the tips on the drivers are all in very good shape, and the orange snap on screwdriver trips itself into neutral, I have to look into that, maybe just old grease? The ratchets are 1/4 in. snap on and Napa. Not a killer deal, but I'm happy with it.

So, got a text from a random phone number this morning:
"do you buy old socket sets? I have a whole toolbox full"
Sure do! Send me some pics! Few hours go buy, I get two blurry photos of a bunch of sockets, what appears to be a SK rat, and big pipe wrenches... I ask what brands are in there:
"S-K Wayne Made in USA"
They accept my offer for $30 and I shoot down after work...

Was barely any SK Wayne's, but uh, I'll take it ;)

Basically better photos of the ones I got... Now, whats in it...

SK and Proto Rats's, two large pipe wrenches, Proto Speeder, =V= Breaker, =V= and Giller extensions...

A whole Kraeuter DBE offset wrench set, some Barcalo, Giller breaker...

Well, there were a few S-K Wayne's, but twice as many Snap-On's, mainly universal 3/8" sockets! A whole bunch of older Husky and P&C, almost an entire =V= set with holder, two Bonney's, some more Giller, a few Fleet... I'm liking these random text messages ;)

Oh! and a New Britain ratcheting adapter too!

Good haul Rick!

My last find of the year:

K.R. Wilson piston ring extractor
Bonney flip socket
Snap On socket
Wood gouge
Armstrong Armaloy 1/4 spinner with female square in handle

Paid under 10 bucks for them.

Give it to you're dad when it's done. You'll .........

1 - score points with the ol' man
2 - be able to use when you need it, in his shop
3 - free up space in your shop for more goodies
