Not as smoking as some of the deals preceding me, but, I needed a stool for the garage and ended up scoring these for $25 from Kijiji

I've got one of those virtually identical that I picked up from a neighbor's curb drop, when we had our yard sale. they had I think three, but I grabbed the best one. (and got a "what did you do that for? from SWMBO; and a few months later she's like "do you have plans for that stool?..." :spit: )

Wally, what hp is that buffer? Good score!

Nick, no chin hair either! :eyecrazy: :scared:

Outlander, $25 for two sounds like a deal to me!!

Chris got the deal if the weekend IMO, V selector flex head and swivel sockets just to name a couple but everything combined makes it a major win!!

I think you most likely got the best lot. I personally don't like to rush when buying machinist tools. Too many people just thrown them around and I've seen numerous times a off brand mic/indicator/etc in a name brand box. Sounds like a strange situation.

Delta DP 400 with mortising attachment - $25

Floor or bench machine? Was it an estate sale or? Great deal.

Coleman lantern with pyrex globe, looks in good shape just been sitting for a long time.

Nice grab on the Coleman lantern. I believe that is a 220D model. The month and year of manufacture should be stamped on the bottom of the fount. It likely is from the 1950s. If you plan on taking it camping, buy a replacement globe for it and put that away in a safe place. Those old Pyrex globes are worth more than the lantern itself! They usually bring around $30 or more.[/QUOTE]

I plan to clean it up and put it in the popup to go with my stove. It had 220E on it, so probably a little younger. As for the globe I figured it might be worth something as I've never seen pyrex, but it depends on how much a replacement will cost if I will sell it or not! LOL

Scored two lower roll aways this week without even trying :) First one was a pressteel rollaway which is as close to a plvmb tool mobile as I think I will ever able to get. I was in my local building materials recycling place and I saw it. It is really straight and not rusty! When I saw it my heart was racing because I thought it might be a tool mobile but sadly no. I really did not need it but it was in such good shape I couldn't resist. I already have bought the key blanks to it off ebay and they are headed this way. I paid $59 which I thought was decent considering it's age and overall good shape. It appears that its original color is red with grey drawers?? Any body have one like it. I think at some point in time someone painted the front cover black to look like a craftsman box??

Also got this tire gauge from my boss who used to be a tech. Looks decently old !

Also scored this lower craftsman roll away from him too for free. He overloaded it and the bottom drawer is junk but I will find a use for it for storage in the garage! This is the newest rollaway I have and it is so chintzy compared to the older boxes. Kinda sad how the quality has gone down hill :(

i went to a motorcycle swap meet yesterday not looking for tools, but they found me.
one table i saw this incomplete set of SK screwdrivers w/ no price. i asked what he wanted and he asked what id give him. little quick math in my head. there were 7 screw drivers. i said 20 bucks, that's just under 3 bucks each.
he liked that offer and they're mine now.
IMG_4514_zps329b7e28.jpg

then another booth was just tools. i picked a made in USA husky(new britain era?) 3/8 ratchet. a blackhawk adjustable and a blackhawk and proto 3/8 extension. i ashed the man how much. he said 15 for the ratchet and adjustable and i could have the extensions. the proto is going to twertsy.

Estate sale locally yielded some goodies.

Karcher k2400hh - Runs and works perfectly. $80

And the assortment of tools below for $50 total.

Some are cheap tools, but some are rather nice. It's a mix and was worth my money to me at least. Never had a butterfly impact before, curious where it would come into use, but at $5, it was worth picking up.

So as I was taking kiddo to school this morning, a friend of mine who sells at flea markets hit me up.
"Hey, wanna come with me to dig through this warehouse in Philly?"
Sure! What the hell!

after some BS'in, $20 landed me this box:

They literally had totes of tools a pallet high... I quickly skimmed through 1/3 of the skid...

They usually sell at flea markets in the city, and got the majority of the tools for pennies or less, so they were happy with roughly $.50/tool.

That Plomb... I swear I have/had a Hinsdale identical to that. And looks like no other Plomb I've seen. Anyone think Hinsdale made these or did Plomb make the Hinsdales?

Nice finds Rick.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Bog made all of those in addition to their own. Hinsdale, Plomb, Chrome X, Western Giant, not sure what else.

chain pliers for spreading chandelier chain without marring it,outer jaw spreads below fulcrum point closes it ,essential tool for set dresser on film crew.

Lighting Chain? You don't say! I was totally unfamiliar with these. They didn't look bike/drive chain related. Thanks!

Nice haul there Chris. I'm curious, who makes that wrench that looks 1/2" drive end on one side and socket end on the other? What's the size?

Because of snow and a planned outing, I missed the only sale in my area this weekend.
However ........

I had planned on going to a model train show on saturday, but shoveled snow instead. The trip to the show got moved to sunday. While there, I stopped in to a vendor that sells cheap import tools for modeling. I picked up a pair of fine brass brushes (similar to the nylon airbrush cleaning set sold by HF) and a small "made in Pakistan" craft anvil. (pics 1&2)

But that's not why I'm posting -

I had mentioned to joe.striper that I was going to the show, he said that it wasn't too far from him and that he had a surprise package for me that he didn't want to mail. He wouldn't tell me what it was. So we met up in a parking lot (outside Harbor Freight no-less). While he was visiting NJ Marty to drop off a vise we arranged to get to him, Marty gave him this package to give to me as a thank you.

Inside the bag was 3 c-clamps with winged handles (my favorite ).
pic 3 -
an 8" unknown #18
a 10" Cincinnati (Hargrave)
and a 2' quilting clamp

The two large clamps have already been wire wheeled and are sitting in the EvapoRust tub getting cleaned up. Soon they will get paint and will join my growing army. :D

Thank you Marty for your thoughtful gift, and to Joe for hauling them back from NJ.

Haha, I was looking through the recent neat finds and I noticed that Vegaman Dan and rickhigginshtbr (the two posts right before mine) found the exact same ratchet.:lol_hitti

Rick, I always like seeing the weird stuff. Do you know what the (for lack of a better term) "speeder handled box wrench" would have been used for? It looks factory made to me, not custom.

hahaha! Yep, mine is a Penen's, his probably is as well.

You know, I don't know, but it is a Mac S something with a 1/2" 12 pointer on the end...

Rick, Nice finds!

is that a spinner screwdriver, or an obstruction wrench? :wtf;

on the plumb, WF was mostly wartime production, so almost anything could have happened...

Jake, is the little anvil brass, to just plated?

Hmm, where did my new to me ratchet go? It was here just a post ago.

But seriously, that ratchet is a pretty nifty old piece of kit and I already put it to use. Not sure what to do with it long term, but I always enjoy rescuing tools wherever possible.

Second CL score in the past couple of days for me. Wilton 801, key is stamped (1 70). My first big vise, this sum-***** is heavy I need a new bench now! Looks like the quick release handles for the swivel base are missing, as well as the dust cap and pipe jaws. I don't know a whole lot about these things so I have some homework to do, but I am elbows deep into my new block grinder (just picked up the new bearings today as well) so this beauty will have to wait for some attention. Oh yeah, I gave him his asking price of $100. How'd I do?

It's more commonly called a C1. As long as there are no major issues it was OK. The needed parts are going to be $$$.

Well, I'm back at it. Snagged another snap-on box with tools. Here's some pictures. Smaller than what I usually pick up. Paid $650 for it all. Also got a lot of motorcycle parts for my bikes worth a good chunk of change.

Hit the Sunday morning swap meet yesterday:

John Deere metric wrench set, John Deere 1/4 and 3/8 socket set, Genius 484464P Ratchet (really nice, was skeptical at first since I had never seen one but I really really like it) $145 for everything. The wrench set and the socket set are never used. The wrench set still has the John Deere $130 price tag on it.

Then two toolboxes with tools. One was an old rusted out craftsman and the other is an absolutely immaculate Kennedy. Tools inside were two nice older drills, one of them a vintage aluminum Black and Decker 653 Type B. They both work fine. Plus some hammers, wrenches, sockets, etc. Even a Snap On Ratcheting adapter for a breaker bar. $25 for it all.

Next is a really nice Blue Point ball pein that is the exact size I desperately needed. $2. And a Hazet 916 ratchet. It needed a screw but I think I'll just rebuild the whole thing. Where could I get a kit? Also, paid $10.

Next is just a box of miscellaneous I bought. Most of it Proto and Bonney. A lot of it will be on my classifieds thread. Paid $40 for all of it.
