^WOW you got some good deals! Especially the Thumlers Tumbler!
Im not sure what those small cast iron pans are really for. I have one as well and the best I can figure is it's a cigar ashtray. Mine has 2 "spouts" one on each side that would fit a cigar nicely.

Outlaw- you'd be proud, I used your approach today.
On the way to the flea I passed a yard sale sign. I didn't want to turn back but reluctantly did. The sale was all women's/girly stuff and I asked if there were any tools. The mother says "Yeah, we have a work bench in the shed with a VISE GRIP on it" . So I was like okay, I'll take a look. Nice work bench with electrical outlet but for $10 she was happy to let the vise go. Also she took my number for when they go through other tools.

Funny thing though, to get in/out of the yard I had to do the limbo under this wooden pole with women's clothes hanging on hangers. I cleared it on the way in, but on the way out... the vise cleared it, my head cleared it, my coat's hood unfortunately......

I wound up with a makeshift clothes rack across my shoulders and clothes and belts all over the ground, but best of all I caught a nice white sweater in my greasy vise hand! :willy_nil

I said now she probably won't call me again but she was cool about it. She gave me a cool brand new tote bag with pockets from the free pile too.
New flea market bag!!!!! :)

This dog does tricks too: It rolls over,

and can drop the jaws at your feet.

Husky 3/8 ratchet, snap on sockets, and Arctic Cat wrench from the flea for $6

Slow day today due to rain, as I find most of the good deals outside. But, I went inside and found a 3 1/2" Wilton vise for $35. It's in good shape so I suppose it was a good deal.

Jaws are in pretty decent shape, but I'm trying to find another set just in case they're even harder to find in the future. No luck so far. Only numbers I see on this thing are "110002" and "111017".

This has been $2 week for me!

Got this Canon A410 digital camera at the Wednesday flea market for $2 but I had to buy 2 SD cards for $11.88 at WallyWorld. (I had a USB cable already that worked for downloading pics)

Takes great pics....(the pics of the casters below was taken with it)
It has a cool macro feature....

20150425_171641.jpg 20150425_171709.jpg 20150425_171632.jpg

Then on Thursday morning I stopped at a yard sale (old house slam full of mostly junk) and got this whole box of casters....6 air ******* (3 male-3 female IM style)....and 2 metal base thingys with spun aluminum caps all for $2 bucks
(didn't need any SD cards for them :lol_hitti)

IMG_0004.jpg IMG_0006.JPG

IMG_0007.JPG IMG_0008.JPG

Anyone have an ideal what the metal thingys are?

Hmm, I replied once but it must have gone to never land...

3Bay:  I had the twin to that vise. last iteration it was on a stand being used for small welding projects... I gave it to a buddy a couple of years ago. When you go back next, look for the pipe jaws. there should be a hole or two for a pin on the jaw supports.

Olson you ****!!! Super jelly, ballpark figure for the lot?

That traffic light is really cool, all you need now is an arduino and some sensors! Hook it up to a breathalyzer or a proximity sensor for garage parking. Nice score.

Had the girlfriend with me today, so not a lot of hopping around to preplanned stops, but today was a big community sale in the historic part of the city. Basically parked in the middle and walked the blocks. Very little stuff of interest. Gf got a jewelry box to distress or customize or whatever, a bolt of fleece fabric to make a chalk bag for climbing, a couple Disneyland pins (she's a fanatic) and a little SpongeBob tin backpack thing to put crafting supplies in. I Got an ar15 assembly and service manual, some CDs, and the day was made not totally a bust by a pile of punches and cold chisels I grabbed for 5$. Two are plomb, one mayhew, and another from Chicago and some with no markings. Worth it to me just for the little round-O plomb centerpunch that says "L.A. CAL"

Tomorrow is Disneyland first thing in the morning so no more opportunities for me this wkend :/

Does an auction count on this thread? Maybe I paid to much but for $28 total...one lot was the ball hammers and the other was the tool bag with the rest of the tools...there were a few other tools but only showing what seemed like the cream of the crop.

We are pretty easy on here geekinsyde, this the catch-all for garage and estate sales, auctions, craigslist, Ebay, other online bargains like Epsteins, even a clearance special like the $300 Craftsman 40" Griplatch single drawer mid box I got for less than $100 at Sears. It should be tool related but cool stuff you find at a garage sale is fine even if it is guns or knives or sports or camping or other guy stuff. And of course you can always mention the item you found at a garage sale for SWMBO so she's happy and let's you go to more garage sales!

Plus I REALLY don't want separate threads for the others, I like it in one place!

And $28 is a good price for all those hammers and the 2 Snap On Ratcheting screwdrivers, nice score!

Sweet! I couldn't believe all the hammers...you could never have enough, right! And honestly was bidding on the tool bag to throw the hammers in so I didn't have to carry them around the auction awkwardly so didn't even know what was buried in the bottom of that bag...which was the snap ons, channel locks and the MAC tools wrench!

It wasn't a steal on my stuff but I think it was a decent deal. The plomb items ran me about $180 and spent about $100 for the remainder. Thanks pioneer power swap meet. Nothing like the thrill of the hunt. Added some ratchets to the ratchet collect.
Current ratchet count 121

Hit a yard sale yesterday as the woman was putting stuff away. I asked how much for the Skil router table with 1 HP Cman router attached and she said $1. I already have one but too good to pass up. The large snow shovel was also a $1.

Estate Auction sale yesterday - 40 year JD mechanic, bachelor who was cutting a tree, fell from the ladder and died . . . lots of Snap On tools, this guy and the Snap On Salesman were VERY well acquainted. . . .

Anyway, got his tool chests - Both boxes are traditional Snap On Red

Bottom Box is 75th Anniversary KRL 1001 dual bank box, very decent shape, but greasy and oily as one expects a daily mechanic's chest to be

Top box is a KRL1201APBO, double bank box, looks nearly new, I didn't check date on it, but no scratches on it, looks like he took delivery & started using it just before his accident.

Total price on both boxes? . . . . . . $3,000.00 had them for $2,500, but guy at end of trailer jumped in and threw in a few bids - I don't think he knew what he was going to do with them if he won (look on his face), but still got a good deal.

Maybe a few pics tonight once I get them unloaded off the trailer.

I certainly would have purchased that lot just for the ratcheting drivers.

Picked up a Dayton/Speedaire vacuum pump today for $30 and got a TIF 5000 halogen leak detector thrown in. Pump works great but needs a good cleanup.
No idea if the leak detector works or if it will even detect modern refrigerants. It looks very old.

Jeff - You're late ! I expected to see a comment from you hours ago.

I've been wanting one of those signs for a while now, even a trashed one. To honor my grandfather's 37 years with Bell Labs (the bell-jar clock they gave him for retirement wouldn't survive living in my shop). All of the ones I saw before today were hideously expensive ($25 -$75) by my standards. When the guy said he only wanted $5, I dumped all my change on the ground trying to get my money clip out of my pocket.

Yeah, I didn't care either, I don't have one near me, (HF)
Actually, I Could have, Should have, Would have, got them at Ace hardware, for a few bucks, after I used the $5.00 off coupon they had, But I forgot to print another one.
And forgot I wanted a pair of strippers when I was there yesterday.
I did get 2 pair of the vise grips, and 2, 6" quick clamps, at Ace, came out to $4.41 each with tax.
And used 1 of the -$5.00 coupons, for garage door spray lube, for about 25 cents after coupon.
I was OK with the Price though (strippers), seeings we don't have one here.

Was hanging out with a friend heading to a bar and saw a bunch of furniture with a free sign on it. Popped a quick u-ey to check them out. Furniture wasn't anything special but spotted these guys sitting behind them. Asked if they were free as well and the lady said "yep just want them gone." Said a big thanks and threw them in the back. I've been wanting a few of these for awhile now so its a score in my book!

(flipping back through the pages see lots of nice stuff this past weekend. Plomb! I love that bell sign, and can't ever go wrong with a stoplight. They always remind me of the show Silver Spoons.)

Cool drawers, there was one like that bottom one at a sale the other day but it was a single drawer. Tall and skinny like that but didn't have the pull handle vertical. You scored!

A guy I've bought from before called me. He finally fully cleaned out his dad's house. I got everything here for 70. Highlights: stone chisels, no name drill press, keyless chuck - seller says his dad nade it in high school. No name anywhere. Cool keyless chuck. Stainless post? Huge die set, in a custom box. Drill press light, casters, red ceramic light. Some kind if vise by AG Bradley. Old wooden boxes, hammers and some axes including a Plomb victory. All good stuff.

Drill press intrigues me . Very, very clean and original.

Stone chisels were a whim pick up. No idea if anyone collects these.
