Stopped at a sale on the way back from fishing. Not a whole lot but found this Dake No.0 for $10. Came with the bending setup which is cool. Just needs a custom handle.

10 bucks... ! YOU ****!That's at least a 5 bill set up.

Here's a No. 1 Picked for 30 and restored !

Thanks topop and bagged. I'm thinking of keeping this one. It does have 2 missing teeth on the ram but with the bending jig it doesn't need them. I think I will make some different dies for it to bend larger widths.

Thanks Outlaw, Another tool Ill have add to my list.

Stopped at 10 sales today, everyone of them was picked clean yesterday. You retired guys that can get out on Fridays have all the luck! My only score was a box of all kinds of sandpaper for $2. Anyone wanna see a pic? Didnt think so :(

On the bright side, my 5yr old scored 3 unopened Lego sets for $3.

If you see one of the Eifles, look around for the other jaws. There were 4 different jaws for those IIR.

Sandpaper is good, bought any new lately? I've made 3 - 4 major buys of sandpaper for pennies on the dollar, and keep the bulk of it "filed" in a plastic file box that will take Pendaflex folders. All organized by grit. Having sleeves of up to 100 or more of every imaginable girt of material make it easy...

I agree with Outlaw. All these consumables may look boring at a G-sales but if you buy them retail they cost a lot. You might not get "you *****" except from your wallet. Lots of these things are even in the free piles! (especially at moving sales)

(sandpaper, mineral spirits/acetone, car detailing/cleaning supplies, motor oil, anti-freeze, Coleman fuel, paint remover, propane tanks, etc, etc, etc)

Some really great scores. Unfortunately I didn't fair so well. every vise I found was broken and or welded. I did get to pick a local collector when he asked me to help him with his old Massey wood vise. He wasn't as grateful as I'd hoped but just getting my hands on the old Massey was very cool.

I did manage a Yankee ratcheting brace model 2101 dated 1925, a slab of 9 quarter walnut, an metal 5 gal bucket with a cool handle that reads pat. pend. on the handle with 44 files in it mostly Nicholson flat/mill bastards and an unmarked broad ax with a very nice handle. He stuck me for $30.00 bucks for it all.

Most definitely, yesterday I picked up about 20 pounds of brand new hardware for free still in their bags/boxes/containers. AND I even sorted it all out into my hardware bins this morning.

You guys are smacking it out of the park here.. Too under the weather to go into too much detail, but lots of "atta-boys being earned!

I went out for a short time and a short list and deliberately avoided TOO's as I had to work on the Samurai today early. with my son. Not sure what happened but I've been feeling dizzy and Queasy starting a bit over 1/2 way through (also dropped an 12mm wrench just above my eyes on forehead. (prompting Questions from SWMBO on if I had a concussion... :headscrat ) :dunno:

Feeling a little better after short a nap, but I didn't quite finish the job: I had to stop, leaving the starter and stick shift lever left yet to install...

Anyway, back to my finds:

A $3 set of copper measuring cups. I spent a couple of min with mothers on one to show how they will look cleaned and polished:

attachment.php

And $5 at one of my better Estate sale prows, on day two:
Crestslloy needle nose, (already used then on today's job), Indestro branded Autowrench, Lectrolite Tappet, A Paschall (new Co. to me..) 3104 BP hammer, about 6 oz and a skinny handle (Made in use hen had ID so Idaho?), a North Brothers, Yankee No. 35 ratcheting and automatic Driver. patent dates fron 1897 to 1915 listed..., New looking bag of superior (USA) Metric allens as well as the key set which is probably SAE...

I think I like the Yankee the best in this score.

Not many good yard sales today, lots of Christmas stuff and baby cloth. So this is what I got, My 2nd Wilton vice (any ideal how old it is.) Needs to be degreased.

That Wilton tradesman is probably 1980s- 1990s.
Open it up all the way and look under the slide. There should be a date stamp there.
Nice find!

I guess I got luck on this one , it has no maker on it. It's pretty beat up and I had to fix the guys vise. But I think I left a good impression on the fella so it may pay off later. And like I said. The handle has the coolest grain pattern in it. She's gona be a wall hanger for a while.

Thank you bagged. It is a model 1750. I wire brushed it and found a number which I thought was a year number of 82 but I kept wire brushing it and the number changed to 52. I am posting the pics for every one.

A quick trip to the flea market this morning (before the hoards of chiblings descend on my back yard for my nephew's 2nd b-day party) only yielded one small item.

A 4" (4-1/2) Barcalo adjustable wrench for $2.

What your are looking at is a part number. The date on a Wilton is underneath. Take the handle and unscrew the jaw all the way. Then flip the round slide over and look under.

New dog boots for the duck dog. His little bro is getting the old ones, nothing like being a younger brother! $5.00

Too bad this place wasn't having a "garage" sale. 3 wilton bullets, straight ac welder, ac/dc welder, oxy/acetylene set-up, 3 average size toolboxes, and a huge *** reloading cabinet full of various shot, hulls, primers and powders.

Bill

After installing the starter and Stick to complete the Samurai ****** swap I took it out to two Yar sales:

#1 had some interesting stuff, and for $10 I got a Navy Ship's clock from the USS Okanogan (APA-220) which was an attack transport at the end of WWII, as well as during Korea and Veitnam; I also 5 old books for the ten, 2 of which are antiques.

attachment.php

Seller said he removed the clock in 1973 which ties in with it being decommissioned.

The Books:

Inside the antique books, the Trig book has an original copyright of 1876.

the next guy was all tools or work related, and I got my first Bessey clamp/Vise (not exactly sure what you would class this, as but since it can be mounted, probably a vise...) as well as A Triumph DOE, a real interesting Wizard adjustable wrench (Pat Pending) and set up for 1-4" through 7/8; Probably for square head fasteners, 3 Craftsman Combos 2 Metric 1 SAE "ratcheting" open, yet another Hand vise, and most of a Dunlap hand push drill - still has 2 bits in the handle. $5 all!

The Vise:

Maybe, maybe not. I opened it up thinking it would at least need a soaking in kerosene, and there are iron rust stains on parts of it. everything looks either brass or gold plated? :dunno: I'd think the springs at lest would be spring steel. I'd like to get it operational, but it looks iffy at best. :(

Well here's hoping you can make it work. I paid 3 bucks for the last one, with broken glass and no key. I got the key from Chelsea (still in business) and had the local glazier cut a new glass for it. Ran like a . . .well you know.

I actually went out today! Aside from a bunch of hand tools (at really good prices), I snagged this guy, which needs some work, but is totally cool! Kiddo came with and snagged two dolls and a bracelet for $2 too! My little haggler! lol

That lantern is Nickle plated not chrome. Nice find at $15! Try not to run regular unleaded car gas in it. The additives in modern gas will clog up the generator. If you have to use regular gas, use the cheapest you can find as it will have less additives than the premium blend.

Thanks guys!!

These old Coleman products sure bring back some fond memories where camping was really camping vs. like being in a stall in a parking lot.

Nothing tasted better then rainbow trout caught in the Big Horn Mtns. and cooked on a Coleman stove with a lantern hanging on a tree limb.

Only stopped at one yard sale today. I got a couple of angle grinders and a bunch of misc. I got an old Springfield wrench, I was told it was for big square nuts. After cleaning it up I discovered that it says what it is for right on it. Who made the blue handled ratchet? The name is worn off of it, Only word I can read is Warning. It is 1/4 inch drive
