Sunday I stopped at the local flea market. Picked up a Champion flex ratchet with the bent handle for $2 and the vintage Craftsman 100ft tape measure for $5. In the same picture is the last sale I hit today, $1.25 for the Proto screwdriver, Kraeuter small linesmans pliers and Red Wing shoe oil. I did get to do a dance and run for the bathroom to get all the FIRE ANTS that had crawled up inside my pants on my left leg. Thankfully they only got as high as my knee!

Also picked up at other sales today the Dunlap wood plane in nice shape, Craftsman small puller, vintage Pennsylvania license plate, old Sears hardware, Scotch tape holder with some unknown tools inside and vintage Coca Cola plastic six pack holders for about $30 total.

I included a larger picture of the unknown tools, the longest is about 4" and they all have 123 stamped on them. Anybody have any ideas what they are for?

At a lumber yard going out of business I found a milling machine vise outside on a pallet. Crusty, no handle but works fine. 6" jaw width and 58 pounds. I have not found any markings yet, paid $30.

My scrap guy stopped by a few days ago with range markers from a local golf course that went out of business. 12" x 12" x 4" solid granite with polished tops and bottoms and the range in inset numbers. $75 for 22 blocks. Probably going to sell these.

Cool vise BB, if the bottoms of those markers don't have numbers, you can use one for a makeshift surface plate. May not be accurate enough for NASA but if you are just using it for comparison work, it should do fine. Good score!

The hardened blades are hot riveted flush to the handles. very thin blades and lots of ********** action as the blades have a curve to them, the tips will actually srping the blades open a bit.

Wow, quite a collection Outlaw, and displayed on what appears to be a fabric cutting board. Is working with fabric another talent you've hidden from us?

It'll be a while before I can match that number of large scissors as I only have two now.

Picked up this Wright Line cabinet with roll up door yesterday. I think it's pretty cool. All drawers are smooth and work great. Needs a little love on the lower drawers but I may just take them out to space them for bigger items.
Paid $175.

I hit one ES on the way home from work yesterday and even at the end of day one still found a lot of tools and other interesting items left. A lot of the misc hand tools did not interest me and there were a couple vintage SO items there but pretty high priced.
I did manage to come away with this assortment. Gun rack, 6 point antler mount from 1953, no name brown wrinkle paint tool box with very nice leather handle and key, a couple of Craftsman boxes, one body dolly, a couple padlocks with keys, a Blue Point battery terminal puller, angle gage, and Craftsman 9" square.
5-8 ES 1.jpg5-8 ES 2.jpg

And maybe the best deal of the house was this box of shooting trophies. They were marked $1 each and I agreed to take them all at that price. Turned out after counting there were 29 and the guy running the sale said $25 for them all. I did not argue.

Outlaw, I was wondering if they were for reloading. One of the sales I was at had some reloading equipment, can't remember if it was the one I got these at.

Edit: Some research leads me to believe these are 30-06 reloading dies. Thanks Outlaw!

Nine4, I have some sample pieces of granite countertop that would probably make a better surface plate. I am seeing dollar signs on these LOL.

"Talent" is not what I'd call it! :see: I know WHAT I'm supposed to do most of the time, but doing it WELL is a struggle at time. The mat is simply my photo background for small items for scale. I did work Saturdays at an upholstery shop for 4 years or so for part of high school and after, mostly pick up and delivery, but did other odd choirs at times. I have some upholstery tools and have done a few jobs for myself, and have a couple more pending, including one simple one from today.. (more later)

Scimonetti what did the ammo box set you back? People are getting silly about what they want for those these days...

Bluebolt, found the little brother to yours.

COOL little vise!

Seriously, can't go wrong even it you give it to a friend in need!

And Guts, despite my misgivings and VERY short planned list, I did fairly well today! (A nice change...) :bounce: I'm about to get the pics done...

I think I did OK today.

Just one sale but two visits. I saw the drill press in a photo and went specifically for that. Imagine my surprise to be the ONLY tool buyer. I usually have to fight my way past the FM vendors buying everything. So I immediately secured the dp for$70 and then started a pile which grew and grew. I have not yet listed all I got yet but her are some highlights. Littlestown #52 pipe vise. Various clamps. Can of wood bits including adjustable up t 5". Wrenches galore all US made. Tote full of files. Heat gun. Almost a gallon of boiled linseed oil. Lisle Jeepers Creeper. More wrenches and screwdrivers. Set of 5" casters. Oil cans. A dozen or so taps. Not pictured is portable sewing machine, set of nail punches, human skull, and a bunch of ****** pen and ink pictures. The erotica will not be posted but maybe the skull. Not sure yet. 4cf207f5662e27e301683be9c20b8aab.jpg

Oops. I forgot the meat grinder and wire wheel. Probably much more.

So my final bill was $120. Much was free or bundled so I can't actually price most of the stuff.
Now this guy is a real estate investor and his only interest was clearing the house. We have reached an agreement for me to run or help run future sales for first pick and a percentage. [emoji106]

You guys are scoring great this weekend!!

First stop was a private estate sale. This was a $20 pile. (mostly SO, one SK wrench and some misc. Plomb):

P1050184.jpg

4 assorted SK and CM kits $10:

P1050188.jpg

Some misc for around $20 at another sale. Metal drill index carousel, German tire gauge, Starrett indicator, misc:

Made in England set of measuring squares $5:

P1050187.jpg

At another sale all this came out of a box that said 3 tools for $1. I don't know what all these strange pliers and crimpers do but for $6.50 I'll figure it out later. Included was some Bell System pliers/cutters:

These tools were all separately marked:

Swedish Crimper set $5:

Nothing for me today but a seed spreader for free by the roadside no the way to a garage sale that had nothing but an overpriced 36" pipe wrench.

Dave, you scored!!

Pics 2&3 - $30
organizer w/ asst. electrical crimps
Wiss #20 shears
Proto ignition wrench roll kit (13/64" - 1/2")

And nice finds guys! You are still beating the snot out of mine but It improved vastly today compared to past weeks!

I intentionally hit this one first based on pics. Nothing specific, just "this looks promising" It was!

Two Pvmb, a lawsuit Plvmb, the rest are Proto LA except the flat offset DOE, which is USA

attachment.php

Same place, all truck tools: SO 18" extension, Everything below that is SO, the ring pliers are Cornwell, sockets are MAC.

attachment.php

Still the same place; Two Craftsman RHFT (my second 1/4", these seem semi rare...), Long C Combo and Impact, 2 SK ratchets, (lots of ratchets today...) SH socket Herbrand 1/2 drive ratchet head, (I was surprised, this looked very similar to SO, so I just picked it up without looking...) No name Swivel socket (I was expecting Plvmb or similar under the gunge...) and that cute little bent handle OTC speeder. I had to have it... (I like speeders. rarely is it worth my time to drag out the impact stuff...)

attachment.php

Tessa Calipers, made in Switzerland. it was $25 for All the tools in stop 1

attachment.php

and lastly, same stop, I picked up this Plasma ball for a buck. its about 5" or so.

attachment.php

Right next door had a bunch of cool stuff, and mostly cheap! I restrained myself a bot but I did get the stool for $2 and the (Damaged) toy battery powered hot rod for cents fifty. its was made in Japan, I'd expect from the 60's or 70's

Anyone notice the cord on the foot stool? someone added ( i'm sure it was added...) a heating pad! :pimpflash

Du more hand held 1/4" grinder with foot pedal. It needs a bit of wiring work but it should work
Palmgren DP vise with x-axis bracket to move it in and out like a lathe, also made by Palmgren.

The rest of the run:

This stop was a TOO, and the woman that runs it is a witch with a capital B to negotiate with. it's her price or the highway... sometimes she;s reasonable sometimes (rarely) something is a steal, and sometimes she's just ridiculous...

:willy_nil

I found this near complete set of "None Better" (New Britain, right?) 1/2" drive sockets and ratchet:

attachment.php

The sockets are complete from 9/16 to 1-1/4 except for the 7/8, 15/16, and 1-1/8. Ratchet is fully functional but of course could use a cleaning and lube... Sockets were all in one tray mixed in with junk, and the drive tools were a table away.. :dunno:

Also found these; Proto & P&P wrenches, Craftsman ratchet, SK socket, shorty, Extension and DOE wrench and a tiny made in Germany ratcheting screwdriver, and the 1/2 Ratchet has NO markings at all. :dunno: Total bill here was again, $25

attachment.php

The backs of the ratchets:

attachment.php

The Mini ratchet driver has a diamond shape on it with markings inside that I think says:

a
GED
PRODUCT
and other markings outside on all four sides:

attachment.php

Another stop, at a guy I buy from regularly, for $5 Plvmb extension, SO impact, SK and Indestro sockets, Proto socket:

attachment.php

And last, but not least, for SWMBO; (and just in time for Mother's day):

A set of 4 silver plate tea light candle stands.

Just to set things straight about the skull I got today. It is a properly prepared medical training aid and NOT some random human remains.

would not believe what I missed on craigslist, should have saved some pictures,
Gerstner oak box, clean as a whistle, the 20" wide, 16" tall one, $150.00.
He said it sold within a few hours.
I said I somehow don't find that hard to believe.
I called when I was on my way to pick up a cool looking drill press, Picks to follow, as I need help to get it out of the car.
It's a heavy little son of a gun.

Outlaw: those 2 were $1 each. You're right about what people want for them usually though!

The bottom one I have never seen before. It is a thin gauge steel without a top.

Anybody have any ideas?

I have a bunch of them, some I bought and others were free or laying around the garage. I use one at the woodworking bench to temporarily store oily rags before they become bonfire starters. We also keep a small tool set in one that gets strapped by the boat transom. Super handy bulletproof boxes.

Update: fish finder works!

It cleaned up nicely, it obviously wasn't used really as the screen wasn't clouded like all the grayscale ones get. Battery was free from another sale

Scimonetti, The 22 Long Rifle can would have been sealed like a Spam can originally. There would have been a key to open the can attached to the bottom. You probably already know this, but WRA is short for Winchester Repeating Arms Company.

Picked up 2 snowblowers today. $100 for both.
The Toro 724 with no spark. Plug wire pulled out of the coil so it looks like that will need to be replaced.

Then this OLD Airens. Looks like **** but runs like new. Previous owner had used it last winter up until he bought a plow.

Thank you, that makes perfect sense. Didn't know that about the WRA, never really looked into that before.

That spam can came from the CMP which sells retired training rifles and ammo to member personal of the CMP program.

Yeah that one is sort of unique isn't it? and it was made that way factory, not a mod...

Sorry, but that one has found a home, along with my 2 handed wood handled 3/8 drive "Nut driver" handle I found a year or so back. I think those two are the most unusual drive tools I have.
