On Thurs (8/6/15) hit some yard sales.

Pic 1 is a set of 5 Marples Ridgway Wood Chisels and Made in England

Pic 2 is two Eagle Brass finger pump oilers. One is 4-3/4" T and 2" at base, while other is 5-3/4" T and 2-1/4" at base

Pic 3 is clamps, with one on left having no name found, while middle one is No. 2 Heavy Service Clamp by J. H. Williams. Smallest clamp is a No. 1 by Armstrong

Pic 4 is clamp on light with sticker tag saying Sun Ray New York and Photo Co Inc.

Pic 5 is a Disston Miter or Backsaw

Pic 6 is a missing parts combo wood/metal plane marked HSB & Co Revonoc (Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co). Used to ignore the missing parts planes, till Blue Frog showed me how well a broken Stanley Bedrock could do as a parts donor to help someone else complete a collection.

Pic 7 is a 3-1/2" jaw small vise with exposed screw, but which has a long sliding bar and a nice looking locking swivel handle. Could not find a mfg name or country of origin on it.

Picked these up at habitat for humanity Restote the other day. Craftsman dado blade insert for $2 and a belt/disc sander which is great for parts for $5.

Got 2 1/2 boxes of construction screws and galvanized deck screws for $1 total.

Also got this 6" Eagle oil can for $1. I am not a collector, I plan on using it.

Did not get there early enough to check out this cabinet. It was bigger than I thought it was and too big for my space. Sold for $50. Anyone know what it is?

$5 for each box of stuff. Couple of snap-on pieces, some C-series 1/2 craftsman, Proto long handle and a Proto LA DBE wrench among some other stuff.

$25 and another $10 for the hole shooter. Wrenches are underline C Craftsman, Craftsman socket box is BE with some misc stuff in it (including two Snap-On midget wrenches), bigger box is a Snap-On ratchet with Wards sockets.

Don't normally have time to check out any sales on Friday's but I skipped my lunch hour today, mostly cause I forgot to take it, and left early. Took a little drive out of town to go check out a sale and glad I did. Older gentlemen who's starting to get rid of his tools. Only grabbed a few things but he had a lot of interesting stuff that I don't have the place or money for, including a few cool axes and a few pieces of advertising. Also had the biggest C clamps I've ever seen in the wild. I might pop in tomorrow depending on what I have for time.

Picked up 3 things from him for 20$. Can't find the awesome deals you guys have down in the states, and to be quite honest, I almost felt bad taking this old guys tools.

A complete Gray Canada SAE Combo set and a 8" Craftsman USA adjustable.

The picture shows the Gray combo roll I picked up (bottom) and the one I got from my Grandfather (incomplete, top), same set. The adjustable is also in the picture.



Also got this incomplete Craftsman USA 1/4" set. Missing the ratchet and breaker bar I assume and two sockets. Sockets and extension are all =v= but the swivel adapter is -v-. Two sockets at the top left are one Husky USA and one American Forge, stuff on the right is all Japan.

Got a free weber. Was at the side of the road across the street from my in laws house. It's missing the grill grates. I didn't have time to see what else it needs.

I wheeled it across the street and I'm storing it at the in laws house for now. My wife has a wedding flower business so had to go to make a flower delivery on time. Hoping for some tool finds on the way back.

Estate Auction wins from this past week.

First is a good condition 3 ton floor jack. For $15 I think it was a deal. Pumps up and holds weight.


Next, a Walker Model#2767 floor jack $50 and it works well also. I've been watching for a reasonable price on a Walker for awhile. This one will deserve some cosmetic work to make to look like new again.


Then a blacksmith type vise with the bench top attachment bracket in place. Not sure of the maker yet as its got a lot of grease and grime build up that will need a good scrubbing to get some details. But it was $10.


A pretty new CM 4.5" disc grinder in the original box, $15.


Last, a box of antique toy guns which I'm always a sucker for.

On the way home from work yesterday I stopped at an Estate Auction, Friday evening "pre-sale" and came home with the jackpot of old metal toy trucks and one more old toy gun.


Also, this really nice old lamp shade that will look great outside my garage door someday. Green porcelain on the outside and white underneath both in perfect condition.

Picked up a whole variety of stuff at one sale today, including what was left of a Plomb 1/2" and 3/8" drive sets. Might stop back out there to see if I can find any more Plomb sockets. A large variety of C-man, Proto, Allen, Indesto, Blackhawk, OTC, etc. sockets & misc.

Think I can save the Plomb ratchets?

Went to Cabela's today and took the back roads home. Hit sales in an area I don't visit often. It was a good area.

OEM brake flare kit. Brand new. $5

Dayton 50ft cord reel. $1

Ridgid 18" and 24" pipe wrenches. Teeth are still nice and sharp. $5

Ford wrench, snap on screwdriver, Xacto pliers and a mostly full Huot number drill set. $.25 each.

Wagner 10" cast iron skillet. I've been trying to find one cheap and finally did. $1! It needs major cleaning but will be put back in use.

A pair of wheels/tires that fit my boat trailer. Tires are a bit dry rot but will suffice as spares.

Also saw an a absolutely mint Kennedy top and mid machinists chest set. Not even a speck of dust on them. Unfortunately they were not for sale

Lufkin masonry folding ruler, Craftsman screw-holding driver, battery terminal wrench, a VLCHEK DOE, two Plvmb DBE wrenches, 3 Proto sockets and 1 Proto swivel, small Armstrong ignition wrench, a palm-sized plane (no markings), and a weird metal handle (???) that has a ******** (I know it's not, just similar) on it. Threaded rod coming out of the last piece, like it was a "topper" on something. Any ideas?

Glad I wasn't playing baseball today, or I would have batted 1/13.

A lot of promising sales listings that all fell flat on their face. The one I did score at, I spent a grand total of 2$ after being told that this was the second day and most of the tools had sold yesterday.

The one redeeming thing today is I found my first SK stuff.

This means I have to get busy cleaning that side of the garage and of course it's the side with my workbench and everything else, obviously.

Lots of good scores guys! Well done! , but the Dog Days of summer are on us around here; I had all of 3 planned stops including a HS Flea.

The run was VERY slow, I got a clamp. (I feel like Charlie Brown and "I go a rock"...) That was it for tools! $1

I also got a wall hanging Kerosene lamp missing its very tiny glass chimney, (I may have one somewhere) and a half gallon Kerosene fill can. for $8.

We went back out for another errand and I hit up a local TOO drive by. I almost drove on by, then decided to see what the heck this was.

It's apparently a CMP INDUSTRIES TICONIUM NOBLILIUM DENTAL DRYING OVEN, I'm still looking for specs. Hard to do as the ID plate is mostly gone. I had a hard time even ID'ing it at all, but lucked into a pic of the same oven and got some leads. Pretty sure this is pretty old, one of the clay plates was dated 1978.

I don't think it has kiln temp capability, as while it does have a couple of Fire brick type clay plates in it (pretty sure not stock) it's not lined as most kilns I see are. I'l have to play with it to see how hot it can get. but surely Powder coating could be done. its vented on top, and I think it has a damper control built into the bottom. I suspect the air is drawn from the top, circulate inside the walls and is drawn up from the bottom.

Internal dimensions empty is a 13" cube

The guy wanted it gone and I got it for $5.

DUCT the marking for the block plane should be on the blade. It looks like 102 size. I just scored one yesterday.
