& TIMDP, nothing wrong with four mics for $5 a pop. Looks like an easy clean up job to me.

The real **** is that they had a lot of stuff priced higher, if you can call it high priced. Like Kennedy boxes in mint shape for $30. Or air driven production vices for $10 a pop. The highest priced item was a 1" Plomb ratchet set in the box for $100. Just didn't have the cash to keep going.

Bought a 140 pound tub of tools for $60. Sorting it out now. Brands so far Action, Barcalo, Bonney, Craftsman, Durochrome, Easco, Fleet, Husky, Indestro, Klein, Mac, Matco, Proto, S-K, Snap On, Thorsen, Williams, Wizard, Wright and more!

OK time for the update!

Pic 1: Action 3/8" ratchet, 2 Barcalo wrenches, Blackhawk wrench and small puller that is probably identical to the OTC one I am looking for, Bonney wrenches, sockets and punch.

Pic 2: All Craftsman, on the left is =V= without part number stuff including metric DBE wrenches, then the later stuff on the right starting with that DOE wrench.

Pic 3: Durochrome socket and wrench, 3 Easco large metric combo wrenches (27, 29 and 32 MM) Husky wrench, sockets and a sweet RHFT 1/2" ratchet, Fleet wrench, Indestro wrench and our sockets, Kraeuter chisel, Mac tools including a long 1/2" and 3/8" extension, GM door hinge "Z" wrench, Torx sockets and other goodies.

Pic 5: Plomb wrench on far left, then S-K wrenches, sockets and an ugly 1/4" drive ratchet that has a sweet action. Then Snap On tools - slide hammer with two tips, screwdrivers, screw extractors in the red case, air hammer chisel, sockets, wrenches, door handle clip remover and a 3/8 extension. And last in this picture is Thorsen sockets, wrench, 3/8" breaker bar and a 1/2" open gear 1/2" ratchet.

Its not a garage sale find, but i had to run into tractor supply to get a few things and found a few decent deals. The best one, I picked up 3 of these garden hoses, brand new for $4.59ea. Amazon has them listed for 28.00! I should have bought all of them and flipped a few or gifted them for Christmas lol

My CL find last night and picked uptthis morning. Craftsman (King Seeley) floor standing drill press. Model 103 0304. I don't think it has the original motor but it runs beautifully. Chicom vise included.
It's been painted grey/green but I have detected bronze underneath. Best part is just $30. I need to find a chuck key for it but I can use it as is.

That is the Pre-war version rolled out just before we entered WWII and sales to civilians (possibly production) stopped until after the war.

Yes. The little I have found so far says early 40s so that makes sense.

Not sure what power bronze is but I have since found more layers below the bronze. So I think it has been painted more than once.

In any case it is a user not a collectable so ago is secondary to me. I also realized that the motor was a separate purchase so there is no "correct" motor just ago appropriate. I have another motor I can use if needed.

- "Power Bronze" is the name of the gold/bronze color Craftsman used in the late 50's.
- I'm not sure what they called the blue that they used in the late 30's and pre-war 40's, but the closests rattle can I've found is Valspar #85205 Classic Royal Blue.
- In the late 40's/early 50's there was a grayish Blue that I don't know a match for.
- Just before the Power Bronze they used a blueish Gray.
- I think the original color for that model DP was the grayish Blue.

Seth Thomas clock from the 20s. Has all the parts, but is totally disassembled. It's a long-term project, to say the least.

Just picked up a few goodies today. Best scores being a Wright 2400 1/4 rat, Wright 4453 1/2 to 3/8 reducer, a Goodell Pratt 6" machinist hook rule in an unusual size.

Last but not least for cman fans... Craftsman 55712 ratcheting chain wrench in original plastic pouch. 12" has the rp handle. =v= code patent 2944452. Would this be from the 70s?

Here are some more pics. The Wright 2400 is super tiny. Compared to a SK 40970. Head size at least it can fit under a dime. It is 1/4" longer than the SK. A little coarser action than the SK I count around 45 clicks in the Wright. It looks like it's never been used but there is a lot of chrome chipped off the drive. This model is discontinued.

The Goodell - Pratt hook rule is not a standard size, in between the two common pocket rule sizes. In pretty good shape for being 80+ yrs old.

Nice find on the chain wrench w/ original pouch.
Since there is no model number stamped on the tool, it would be pre-1974.

One sale this morning, nothing to show for it but I did get stopped by a lady on the way out that recognized me as the "tool guy" and wanted my number. She said she has a box of tools and wants help pricing for her upcoming sale, the lady running this sale overheard her and asked for my info as well so I may get some presale pricing work this fall.

A rare Thursday sale for me this morning. I couldn't get there at the opening and showed up 1hr late. No big deal, I wasn't expecting this one to have anything interesting anyway. Most of the tools looked like they came out of a Fuller (Japan) starter set. Most of the rest came from China.

A couple weeks ago I stopped at an unadvertised G-sale and stumbled on a lot of two Stihl pro chainsaws and we agreed on $15. He claims a tree fell on the 044 (it's really an 046 but looks more like a D9 ran over it.) There's not much left that's salvagable.

However saw #2 was a Stihl MS361 that looked almost new. He claimed it blew a "head gasket" (chainsaw don't have headgaskets!!). It turns out it needed a brake handle, a top end (old cylinder was cracked probably from another tree encounter) and an anti-vib fitting. The parts cost around $70 and now it runs and looks like new.

How high is that base? I have been looking for one, think it would be great to "roll" over my Craftsman Crown drill press base to hold all the bits and stuff.

Just loving that Craftsman set and box.
Those old sets and boxes in that condition are hard to find. The blue wrinkle finish has become my favorite and I wish they would bring it back. Nice find!!!
