This is my first post in this amazing thread and I must say - you all ****!

Yesterday I purchased this Walker 945 8-ton hydraulic jack at Habitat for humanity's Restore for $3. A couple of weeks ago, I found this antique wooden first aid kit for $5 at a local estate sale. Many more pictures to come!

Edit: Adding a picture of a (NIB) Porter Cable 24" Omnijig (#77240) that I picked up on the last day of a moving sale for $50. I was almost embarrassed to make that offer (he was asking $200) but up to that point, I had previously paid out $150 to him for items on the previous day. I called him knowing that if it didn't sell, he was gunna donate the remaining items to goodwill.

Blue Frog, I love the Little Giant tap and die sets. I have a set of GTDs and they are the best cutting ones I have used.
Essentially, all Little Giant sets are Wells-made. GTD bought them and the "Little Giant" brand, sold the sets as Wells LG for awhile, and then dropped the Wells.

Ah, those were the days, when they put more ingenuity into engineering their cars then their emissions test defeat devices!

Well.... I had been on the hunt for a zero turn mower lately. Ended up buying a a kubota Zg222 48in cut from the dealership used for $3500, 640 hours.
Decent reasonable deal.

A couple days ago another mower popped up, a kubota ZD221, diesel with 440 hours..... These things will last for 3,000 hours easy.
For $2500, a smoking deal. These usually cost about 5-6,000 used, 11k new. I jumped on it, 2 hour drive, got the mower for $2350. Went by Kubota place on way home, spent $150 and did all the maintenance on it, filters, oil, blades, couple odds and ends.
Seems to be how it goes for me. I search and search for something and end up getting 2 or more within a short period of time.
Now I am debating whether to sell one or keep both or what to do.

I'd keep the diesel and sell the gas one. Then use profit for more Snap On Deals.
O by the way YOU ****

Thank you Bobcat. I haven't even posted my most recent snap on deals. Sold a few boxes lately.
I just mowed with the diesel mower for the first time....wow. This thing is fast and has so much power even compared to the other zero turn. They are both rated for 21hp but the diesel never even thought about bogging down. I don't know if it's the new blades or because it's a diesel, but definitely keeping it. Hate to sell the gas one since I still paid a reasonable chunk for it.

Went to one "estate sale" last weekend. Turned out to be rows of tables in the yard full of household junk. The whole yard smelled like cat spray and people were leaving fast as they entered. Except for this very masculine older lesbian couple who were buying them some stuff that day. :(:headscrat:confused:

On my way out I spotted the shears in a cat free zone
I think they are Detroit Shear Co. Patent 1909 - paid $1

Also, from the flea market:
Blue Grass 3/8" Speeder-$3
Napa line disconnect set, opened but probably used once-$0.50

Picked up these ratchets at the market from one vendor-$59

3/8" drive left to right: Williams, Proto, Action, Kraeuter, Williams, Williams, Williams flex head

1/4" New Britain breaker bar,Husky,S-K,Craftsman,No name(Mechanicraft?),XCELITE,Williams

Bottom: Williams 1/2" male by male ext. bar and handle. I needed that extension to complete a ratchet :rocker:
.

This was the real gem. I had no example of an Xcelite ratchet. Looks to have been made by Wright.

Picked up this very well cared for Speedair Compressor off CL for $75. Came with the original manuals too. It's a 2hp 110/220. I guess holding out for a compressor payed off:bounce:

3bay,
If the S-K is black oxide and marked "< S-K > PAT NO. 1981526 40970" on shank, and you don't plan to keep it, I need it. Thanks.

Thanks!

Private, it is. I guess it can't be seen in that photo but there is a chunk missing in the back plate. My plan was to use the selector off another unusable SK parts ratchet I've been hanging onto. I may have another yet if I look around. I'll have to get back to you on that one.

Great find on that compressor. You're going to like it (until you decide you need something bigger:evil:). If you can run it on 220v, go that route, otherwise you'll be popping breakers everytime you go to run it.

I'm surprised with it so far, haven't tripped a breaker yet (cycled it 5 times). Also I now know the power of my craftsman professional composite impact and was:shocking: I won't buy another larger compressor for a bit unless this one can't handle a plasma but I think it will be just fine.

Craftsman instant heat soldering iron. I really needed a new one as mine died. This thing works awesome and gets hot in 3 seconds.

Finally, the stars aligned for me today. I'm about a hour away for work preparing for a new job site today, so of course I looked up what sales were going on in the area. In between two appoints, I was in line for a estate sale that had a anvil under a table in the pics, well, I was first into the garage. Bought the anvil and the Reed vice next to it ( felt like I was orphaning the vice after taking the anvil).
Not sure of the weight, it's pretty pitted. I carried it from the garage to the street and was ready to set it down, 110 lbs..?

Only mark I can see is a Trenton name.

I'll look over better when I get home and will post up more.

At a second sale, small box of soft end and brass hammers, misc.

Craptain, it was in Sarasota.

I was lucky no one in the group was interested, not that they in front of me or anything.

I remember reading here about dropping a ball bearing on a anvil to gauge rebound. I have a 1-1/4" ball bearing, dropped from about 18" above, it had about 75% return.

I'll post up more pics and a video if anyone's interested.

my first garage sale post, a few things to show. I'm not a machinist, just a beginner at basic equipment repair. Main purchase was a SK 3/8 micro adjusting torque wrench, for $20 (no pic). In great shape. Then looked around and found some older stuff. All below for another $20, see pictures.

4-lugged wrench? looked cool, never saw before.
small spokeshave?
Craftsman drill bit case
Millers Falls no 5 drill
Starrett 178a gauge, a little rust
Starrett bevel angle
not sure what the tool with small base is. Any ideas? see 2nd picture.

Yard sales on Thurs 9-25-15.

Pic 1--Pair of Pony #50 3/4" pipe clamps that were previous owner modified to extend them out further and with rubber padding. Wilton #405 clamp and a metal cart with four wheels

Pic 2--A Rex leather riveter #27 and a pair of wooden planes with Ohio Tools Co. marked on one of the planer blades. Underside of the wooden planes is Pic 3

Pic 4 & 5--No markings on spline, blade or medallion of this miter hand saw. Blade Length is 28" Long and 5-7/8" wide. I actually got to garage sale just as the purchaser of the saw was leaving for his truck. Struck up conversation and found he planned to sell it, so told him he might as well sell it to me.

Pic 6 & 7--My cousin Terry came down to show me what he purchased in a garage a few months back....A 1931 restored Pontiac Oakland. He also has an un-restored original 1930 Pontiac Oakland (but not pictured).

Pick up from an on-line auction - haven't seen anything like this before.

Top is 1/4" steel plate - sides are 1/8" steelplate - 8" rollers.

My late father would say that this cart is as ugly as homemade sin.

It's heavy, but easily moved on the large wheels.
