In a side work shop of mine, I use doors on top of saw horses for my storage tables.
I need something with a drawer to hold tech material and found a steel 2 drawer 60''x 32 desk.
Moved the s/h out of the way ,put the door back on top. Not a bad deal for 11 bucks.

Went out on Friday to some state sales the first one i wanted to go to was one that advertised a corvette with hand tools for sale but no pics of the tools! Got there and everything was still there i spotted two Kennedy boxes for sale at $10 each a grabbed them right away before anyone else got them. one was empty and one had some sanding discs i thought i did very good on these! They also had a box of around 8 pliers marked 50 cents each so i grabbed them all all mostly usa made! They had a very old ac grinder marked $10 but the cord was bad and didn't fell like trying to fix it so i passed!

Not much at the next sale mostly just misc hardware and bolts but i spotted a box with 3 grease guns and a about 35 saw blades hanging on the wall but no prices on anything. Went in and he said $20 for everything which i didn't want to pay so i said how much for just the blades he said $10 but i bought everything for $15 which i thought was a steal. These saw blades new sell between $4 to over $10 a piece so a little over 25 cents each was a great deal.

Me and Bluebomber have the "no garage sale blues" since I am taking a break myself. Need to get stuff organized around here and sell of the excess.

The flea market was garbage again boys. Too cold an windy.

Hit up an estate sale yesterday. For $9 got a Craftsman oil head QR ratchet, reamer, some misc. bits, a Craftsman punch, and an old unusual chisel.

Also a nice Wilton 5" Shop King. Offering it for sale so won't say what the price was, but sure did not get this one for a song.

Ok Guys, who made this chisel? I feel as though I remember a discussion on this logo.

three disston saws( one has property or Pennsylvania railroad company engraved on it)

Madison069:

I was up early and saw your post on GJ of you being first in line at a sale this morning.

Good buy on the Craftsman vise.

However, that #16 Disston with the Pennsylvania RR marking, is a dandy.

Did look up to see how old a #16 Disston saw would be and the new version was reported to be done between 1880-1928 and no old version of the #16 has been reported to have been found. Here is link to where I got above info.

I picked up a new in packaging Snap-on four way angle wrench set from the local for sale pages, I was the first caller yesterday after the ad went up and the seller was kind enough to hold them for me until I could pick them up after work today. I've been tempted to pull the trigger several times on e-bay for twice what I paid for these. $75.

Signal - That box was made by Waterloo near the end of the quality era. On the top box you should find a date in the bottom of the top section, on the left side, near the front. On the bottom box the date should be on the front of the bottom rail, about 7" in from the right.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I checked the codes, exactly where you said they'd be. The top box is 5-80 and the bottom is 4-80. I'm willing to bet they've been together since sold new. I thought they were from the '80's, but I didn't think they'd be older than I was.

I went to a big car show/auction/ swap meet today. Picked up my fist Craftsman 3/8 RHFT today for $8. Definitely impressed with how smooth it is. Also met Tom Wopat from the Dukes of Hazard; really nice guy...

First time I could post in this thread - and first day of going to the garage sales this year!

Wow, 63 pages of posts already! You guys are killing it!

Here's the saves today, everything was $11 together

pic 1:
large Armstrong DOE wrench
2 Craftsman USA wrenches
2 Craftsman screwdrivers
Armstrong 1/2-drive impact socket
Channellock needle-nose pliers
interesting combo wrench made by Briles Mfg, called a PawLock. Kinda looks like it was an early ratcheting wrench idea

pic 2:
everything else, large lifting shackle, pins, drill and machining bits, terminal ends, large cotter pins, files, hex wrenches, and three new sets of Klein-Line plier handles

Here are my finds from the last week.
Got the drill bits holders from a Estate sale today. Went by Friday, too many in line and had to get to work and today was the only day I could make it and they were still there waiting on me, picked up both for $11. Picked the pliers and sharpener attachment at a random sale.
03cecf48b84fbd064308e732fa502e89.jpg

A couple clamps and nice mix of crimp terminals.

From a shop closing, a 6" Metabo $20, a large folding square.

And last but the most fun, my finds from the Florida Flywheelers flea market. Enjoyed the company of Taumac and Craptain there.
A around 40 oz Blackhawk ball pein, my second Craftsman adjustable file handle, never used, and a couple other tool handles.

Wandered around today and stopped at a FM. Picked up a Craftsman Crown Top logo 4 drawer parts bin. They only had one left and said they had several and this was the last one. $5.00

I cleaned the drawers up quickly and took some pics. Not sure what I'm gonna put in it but it's cute if nothing else.

Cheers

Jim

First flea market trip all year, and I came away with my first Reed vise. It's just a 3", but pretty sturdy at a touch over 30 lbs. It looks like the green paint may be original-(maybe someone can tell me?) I hope so, because I have some Rusto Hunt Club Green which looks like a pretty good match. Nothing much wrong with it- just needs a trip through the electro-bath, paint and lube. The handles aren't even bent!

Some great finds this weekend. Nice job all!

My only find was from one of my favorite thrift stores on Saturday. I made it in with only a few mins before closing. I wouldn't normally look twice at a plastic tackle/tool box, but I saw the price tag and thought better of ignoring it. It was heavy - really heavy!

I opened it, took a brief look, then headed for the cash register. $32.95

Pic 1: the box.

Pics 2-5: Pix of the stuff while still inside the box.

Pic 6: Craftsman -v- and -g- 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive SAE (through 1 1/8") & metric (through 32mm), shallow & deep socket sets (including 6pt and 12pt). Just missing a couple of sockets. Craftsman SAE & metric combination ignition wrench sets, a few Craftsman and Challenger metric combination wrenches, Craftsman Allen wrench set, Craftsman crow's foot wrenches, oil filter wrench, Stanley utility knife, misc Chinese wrenches & screwdrivers, bullet level air chuck.

Pic 7:Snap-on ratcheting screwdriver, Craftsman 1/4 drive ratchet and breaker bar, Craftsman & Japanese 3/8 drive ratchets, Challenger 3/8 breaker bar, Craftsman 1/2 drive ratchet and breaker bar, Craftsman 3/8 and 1/2 drive extensions, challenger 3/8 drive 12" extension, challenger 3/8 drive u-joint extension.

Not a single DBE wrench - damn!

Brian

That's a nice haul there Riley! I would find it hard to pass up even though I'm selling off my leftover sockets right now. Just don't have the room!!

I have that same box. I bought it new in the late 80's or early 90's, but can't remember where. It was sold as a toolbox. Not long after buying it, I removed the trays and used it for logging chains. It's still being used that way.

Ohio Forge stainless multi tool
Visegrip, 5WR from DeWitt, NE
Kobalt long nose needle nose pliers
Bluepoint 8" slip joint pliers

Snap-on 35mm 6-point impact socket
Snap-on 1-5/16" 6-point impact socket

Sweet deal r_olson_06, looks like most weren't use that much, if at all. Makes the deal even sweeter. Not sure what you paid but it sounds like YOU ****! :)

Had a good weekend and Monday. Sold a Proto box for a tidy profit and used that money to pick up an eight drawer file cabinet for $50 and four blueprint cabinets for $100. I underestimated how massive the two larger ones were (47"w X 18"h X 35"d), so they will be going to another GJ member (who has more space and I now secretly hate). I'll be keeping the two in the last picture. They're both roughly 40"w X 16"h X 30"d, and have a 6" stand. In the future I'd like to find at least one more to stack on top but I'll use it as a work surface for a small band saw for now.
