From last week's sale, a couple miter boxes for $11.

The one on the right is a Stanley-Marsh No.100. One of the cast iron saw guide sides is cracked off, worst case is parts.
The one on the left is as of yet unidentified and was thrown in for a buck.

$40, enough for 11 feet of bench or a 5 footer and a 6 footer. Probably going to do a full 11 footer and order the 5 foot lower shelf for it. Will be blasting and painting them, may add a 4" riser too.

Farmer, those should make a heck of a bench!

On the risers, were you thinking on the bottom or the top? If it were me, I think I' do a couple of 2X4 or 6 long ways, and then 2 X 6 stretchers front to back to support the top.

Also gives you a place to attach face boards if you like.

Hmm or you could reverse the order and mount drawers...

Good weather today. The local flea market was packed solid this morning. It took forever to find a parking spot. I ended up spending $22 at several tables (out of about 300 or more vendors).
Here's the take :

Williams (underline logo) 1/2dr sockets
............ ST-1234 1-1/16"
............ ST-1230 15/16"
............ ST-1225 25/32"
Williams (diamond W logo) 1/2dr sockets
............ S-7/8
............ S-13/16
............ S-9/16
............ S-1/2
............ S-7/16
Bonney A28 1/2dr 7/8" socket
Herbrand S-118 1/2dr 9/16" socket
6 - asst. roloc disks
SnapOn F-10-L 3/8dr breaker bar (frozen, rusted, missing chrome) (1953)
Kraeuter #31061 1/4dr 1-1/2" extension
MAC M9CW 12pt 9mm combo wrench
SnapOn XI-1618 DBE 6pt ignition wrench 1/4"-9/32" (1947 ????)

Only bits-n-pieces, but it was a good day nonetheless.

I was thinking nicely finished 4x4's on the bottom of each leg, but am not sure yet. Need to get a top on order or built first, plus pick out a color to paint them.

The one on the left looks to me like a Millers Falls Langdon. The saws look very nice, good horns on the handles. Both Disston?

Both of those are nice scores. too bad the Stanley has damage.

I bought one like the left one several decades ago. I mounted it similar to that one, only I added a cleat on the bottom for clamping into a B&D Workmate. Still use it today. a shark saw makes those a joy to use.

Mine all have Disston saws with cast steel blades. (I'm up to three, but the others don't get used; saving one for my son...)

Score!!!! that's awesome for a c note
everything work?

Yeah, everything important (it's missing a small wiring harness which goes to the headlights, but that's simple stuff to mess with later). The dude selling it posted that it ran and mowed, but had to be started with a screwdriver crossing the wires.

Turns out, he had the Starter solenoid wired wrong. I swapped the wires, and tightened one nut, and bam. It started fine with the key. $0 dollars invested. just elbow grease. :bounce:

Great save Mr. P. I've lost count of the things I've been given that required elbow grease only repairs, or fixed the same for others. If you include the cheap fixes, its even bigger...

Well done!

Chisels (US and Germany) ($1-2/ea)

P1060447.jpg

Dremel kit ($1)

You guys are funny. Nice ratchets Dave!

Went to a different flea market today and did pretty good. Beautiful weather finally. Picked up a bunch of ratchets and other tools. Some cheap, some not. Spent $95.

PICS 1-3- old Stevens Walden socket case. A few Walden sockets and a mix of other USA + Import.
The seller said I wouldn't want it because the broken Allen ratchet but it has a Snap On 10mm on it :). The whole box was $2.

PIC 4 -Bonney 3/8 speeder, Crafsman 1/2 u joint and 1/4 driver. Snap On octo grip driver, unknown parts plane, Cincinnati clamp.

wrenches- Vlchek combo, Mossberg open end, Premier Pope bicyle wrench

PIC 5- Snap On bearing separator and Cornwell Air Chuck ? Handle

PIC 6- 24" broken Craftsman indexing pry bar. It was NFS in the back of the booth because the seller wanted to fix it. I said how much,he said $20. I said how's $10, he said OK YOU DEAL WITH IT. :)

The Stanley -Marsh has an E.C.Atkins &Co. Saw, the Miller has a Disston Canada saw.

I went to the NJ Swap Meet Saturday and picked this up for a dollar. I wanted to repurpose it, but then found out it was worth way more than the dollar I paid for it. It was a GM Tilt Steering Column Spring Installer/Remover Tool.

When the guy said $2 for the big ratchet and $1 for the small ones could spend $4 better. Proto was wrapped in packing tape and the tuff 1 was frozen but all better now.

3/4 on proto, 1/2 on the others. They had a bunch more 1/2 ratchets but you have to draw the line somewhere

You **** for the $20 Blackhawk floor jack with the light, although I'd have been tempted to offer scrap prices for anything on their scrap pile.

Along with all your other hauls, well done!

picked up a few goodies this past week...

Never saw a vise with the underline logo, so had to snag it. Heavy beast, 4 1/2" wide jaws that dont seem removable....

But also missing that bottom chunk "as long as i remember". Guy retired from the machine shop that he got it from years ago, so apparently that broke early in its life.

Edit: According to the patent, that's a Reed manufactured vise, late 30's.

Then, I got this sweet retro... "satchel", as the other half called it all day at the flea market.

...with 24 wrenches in it, lol.
