This was the first sale. Some things were overpriced such as the auger bits which were $30 a set. Also the craftsman boxes were $15 a little much for me. Some guy took all the good adjustable wrenches and pliers seconds before me i was not happy.

1. Very long waterloo box $10
2. Eklind long hex keys $3 each, sort $1 each, fold up $1
3. old ratchet unknown maker $2, Eklind T key's 50 cents each, fold up $1
4. cheap vise grips pliers 25 cents, craftsman usa made vise grips $5, petersen locking pliers $3
5. big clamp $5, misc usa craftsman and other clamps 50 cents to $3.

Total spent $40.75

I wish i would of got that craftsman tap and die set for $35. I was thinking about it but then some guy took it.

If I need to think about a item I either put my hand on it while I ponder, or pick it up until I decide. It usually doesn't go into my bag until I've made up my mind. Occasionally I'll put something back and regret it later, but that's all part of the game. I may run into another one at another sale someday.

This was the retired mechanics sale. I screwed up and should of bought the 59 piece craftsman tap and die set for $35. He also had a vintage craftsman two piece tool chest filled with tools that said make offer and i got real excited but then he told me someone bought it already.

2. no name vise clamps, craftsman vise grip pliers, channellock pliers, 2 Duluth pliers
3. speeder, v series craftman 1/4 ratchet, ford wrench, proto wrench head, hex key folder, flex head sockets 2 snap-on, 2 sk, 1 craftsman, 1 misc.

Got the whole lot for $20.

Yeah i should of. I don't think he even wanted it too much but then another buyer said that is a good buy i would buy it if i didn't already have one and that sold him. I seen the same set selling for $100 plus $35 shipping.

Mom showed up unexpectedly this morning and and we went to see my daughter, I ran out of the house without my phone so when I got home a minute ago, I had several missed calls/texts from Mr_P as he was passing through here around the same time. Long story short, look what I scored and didn't even go sailing! Mr_P hooked me up bigtyme, gift on the door steps when I got home!!
There is what looks like a NOS Hummingbird, a sight level and my favorite, a stack of old school Parts Supply Catalogs from the 60-70's in like new condition!! I'll take some inside shots later, there are some hot models in the ads and lots of funny cartoons.

Joe stopped by my place this afternoon and we did a little trading. I'll let him tell you what he went home with, if he chooses. But I got me a new (to me) Greenerd No.2 arbor press. It has a few issues, but then again so does everything else in my shop. So it should feel right at home.

Sometimes referred to as a "Tanker Style" gas can. It's definitely just another style of carry can for gas. Various companies made them. It looks in pretty good shape. If you also have the nozzle it could be semi-valuable to the right collector.

a few small items from a well picked over moving sale. Most were found at bottom of boxes, etc. The taps and dies were clean, the rest were grimy and a little rusty, but cleaned up pretty good. All for $10

- some misc taps and dies
- Starrett machinist clamp no 161-c.
- 3 calipers, largest is Lufkin, then Union, and the small one is B&S tool, Prov RI. I assume is Brown and Sharpe.
- and the pamphlet, includes how to read Starrett calipers, verniers, micrometers, etc.

This weekend is the annual town-wide yard sale...which I will miss because I'll be in the woods with the Boy Scouts. But, one location opened up early tonight as a fundraiser for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Ten bucks got you early access, a half cup of wine, and hors d'oeuvres. I call that a date!

SWMBO and I walked through the place in a half hour. Mostly clothes, books, knick knacks. She found some fabrics for sewing projects. I found a big-ish Eagle oil can in the FREE box and a pair of cooking thermometers for a buck. They'll stay in the toolbox, in case I need 'em in the garage.

Heres how my sale weekend started and wed on the way home from the other side of florida, pawn shop, Proto 3/8" drive torque wrench, $20.

Then lunch time today, drove across town for a estate sale.

Then a late in the day add for a Sat sale, had a couple of photos of actual tools and of about 30 totes, LOTS of tools it said. Also said to email with any questions. So I did, she called back and said I was welcome to come look tonight so I headed over at 7:00.
Had a tons of tools, mostly HF, all kinds of hardware, and totes that yet to be unpacked. So I got work work. Pick a small pile of decent stuff, CM metric tap set, CM tap holder, box of larger drill bits, blue point and Dewitt vice grips, a Trinco blast nozzle that will fit nicley with my new blast cabinet. Just as I was giving up on one particular tote, out came a so screwdriver, thought I had cleaned it out, a Wera driver.
Next box a 4 pc so pick set with three pieces, a bessy clamp,SK rat, Jacobs Chuck.

Sorry for **** pics, it was raining and needed to get inside.

Not a special haul, but it was fun. As I was going through totes, I picked up a set of sockets, guy said was his pile. OK. He pointed out four totes, said there's tools in this, that one, and so on, that he just went through them. He was filling up a tote of his own. So I went around the pile and started looking through the totes that he was working his way through. I don't like sloppy seconds.
Picked up a box of inserts for the lathe. Just need to buy some holders now.

Community-wide yard sale this morning. More than half Onesies, but just as my interest was expiring, a $1ea table with tools! This is now likely to be my oldest steel tool: a J.Mappin&Co / Sheffield backsaw. Split nuts, beech handle. This was made in England circa1840 or earlier. That's the year Henry Disston started business in Philadelphia.

gonmad- I think for $10 you did very good. Most Truecraft Japan tools were always decent quality for being older imports.
