So I made it to the estate sale I had linked to earlier.My shopping buddy had gotten there early as it was quite close to him and gotten us a place in line at Nos.3&4 .I grabbed Taco bell breakfast and we waited out the opening.Thanks to Adam's examining the pictures as well as an alert GJ'er who had PM'd me We knew it was gonna be a good sale.Hopefully things were priced fairly.
All told we hit 4 sales today and the contents are now sorted by type but not by sale.I spent close to $200 today and got this:
The wrenches.A mix of Craftsman,SK ,Proto,Billings,Williams,Kobalt(which oddly look like SO or Williams part Nos),Plomb and a few others.
The Pliers,Ratchets and Sockets.Utica(Bell system needlenose),Channellock,Craftsman swivel sockets,SK boxes,A Master Mechanic RHFT(assuming its made by Easco),Utica Axle cap pliers,MAC snap ring pliers,palm ratchet,etc.

The rulers,tapes,layout and measuring includes Starrett,Mitutoyo,Craftsman,Brown & Sharp and a folding boxwood ruler from J.Rabone ,Birmingham England.
The drills and bits include Bell System braces,Stanley 41 push drills,a bunch o bits for the push drills,a partially fully Huot drill index,ogee router bits ,a super cool standard drill co index,and a bnib Stanley No271 hand router.

I was more excited about the cornwell angle wrenches. You don't see too much cornwell stuff at sales. There was no way i was leaving the mac ones there for $2 a piece tho.

Very nice score. I will probably never come across another Wilton around here for a good price for awhile. I missed out on a huge wilton vise for $35 last year and i still haven't lived it down.A Wilton baby Bullet with Pow-r- arm!!!

Picked up this sale yesterday. I think they all belonged to a older guy but there son did ebay searches on everything and priced everything at retail selling prices. They had a lot of good stuff like proto swivel sockets but $10 a piece, craftsman flying v 1/2 for $18 but had name engraved over the face, other nice ratchets way overpriced, craftsman worthless speeder $15, Chinese extension set $30, esc. I got these 3 things for $10. I am going to stop by tomorrow to see if they have come to there senses on there prices. But they lady told me they will not go down much and they can sell what is left on ebay. Here is the ad the sale.

I wasn't going to make the trip tot his one but i am glad i did. The lady running the sale did ebay research on all the tools and the prices were insane. Here are some examples $80 for Chinese wrenches, $100 for a antique hand saw, $45 for a no name fold out tool box, esc. She was willing to haggle because it was the second day.
1. Thorsen 1/2 socket set complete with extra thorsen socket sizes and a Williams 1/4 breaker bar. It was $40 before and $25 after bundle deal
2. sk wayne metric socket set missing 14mm socket $25.
3. diamond Duluth pliers thrown in for free

This was a pretty good sale. The lady had stuff priced good for some things and very high for other things.
This set is really cool a napa new britain 3/8 socket set only missing one deep well socket. After a total discount off everything it came to $10

This sale was basically a all tool sale and they were on there second day and doing half off so the good stuff was already gone since i got there later in the day. I got this all for $25 after a extra $6 taken off the half off price.
1. craftsman =v= slider extension, no name ratchet but i think it is indestro, sears japan ratchet, craftsman =v= 1/2 ratchet, craftsman hammer
2. I am not sure what this is? It looks like some sort of torque tool used with sockets. Does anyone have a clue?

CL purchase today after work. Two spotless and rust free oil barrels. I can't believe how clean these were. $15 each. One is already in service as my new, better looking garage trash can and the other will find similar service in my basement.

Great haul, by the way!
I'd say it's exactly as you described it. Looks like a preset torque driver. I found a Ridgid branded one last year used for tightening sprinkler fixtures. The company seems to still be in business under the name Sturtevant Richmont in Carol Stream, Illinois.

CL purchase today after work. Two spotless and rust free oil barrels. I can't believe how clean these were. $15 each. One is already in service as my new, better looking garage trash can and the other will find similar service in my basement.
Those are so cool! Looks like they may have never been used and maybe a employee took a couple home.

Hit a few yard sales on Friday and got just two items.
Pic 1--Set of Craftsman Standard nut driver set minus one.
Pic 2-4--Rockwell RK9000 Jawhorse. Previous owner received it as a gift, but hadn't used it. I'm planning on keeping it for now, as think I see some ways it can help me in the coming months on some projects.

Don't regret that decision. Unless you are really filling out a set of your own, I think $2 each for GS pricing is too high. Go back on 1/2 off day and if they are gone don't worry, another sale is right around the corner.

They were at a estate sale store! There was some other stuff i liked there but didn't want to pay full price so i will go back tomorrow. I am sure some of the stuff will still be there.

Like Malo said, don't regret it. And, don't be afraid the bargain, even in a estate sale store, even on half off day. Personally, I wouldn't go higher than 25 cents per socket in a bundled deal. In other words, put the whole thing on the counter and make a starting offer of $5.

I did try to get them to do $20 for a box today but they said no deals on the first day. I think 25 cents per socket is being cheap! They were mac and they were metric sockets!

2. Craftsman doweling jig! He told me this is used for lining up the holes for drilling in wood! I thought this may come in handy down the road!

Like I said it all depends for me on what the intended use is. If they are good condition and I'm planning to add to my own personal tools then that might be an acceptable price and same or slightly less than new.
But I agree with Blue Bomber if I'm buying for resale purposes I want to pay about 25 cents per. Brand not withstanding, there are millions of sockets out there in the world. Buying high and selling low may be fun but certainly not sustainable.
