I've been cleaning/sorting items from one yard sale on Fri/Sat and still not done.

Here is the next batch.

Pic 1--Found a Parker 88. It was missing pipe jaw inserts, swivel base and had a split/crack on the end section of sliding bar. What remained still cleaned up nice and it now operates well. Could see it still being used with a mortise on top and a center threaded bar with washers/wing nut to secure it at bottom.

Pic 2-- Reeves Speed Control Motor Mount Base

Pic 3--Randall & Co. of Cincinnati OH Vintage Machinist Vise with 7-3/4" Jaws and a hand crank that looks a lot like a ship captains wheel.

Pic 4 & 5--Unmarked Vtg Sharpening Stone Crank Table Bench Mounting Clamp. I'm not real certain how the attached metal should be positioned to help with the sharpening, but maybe some pieces are missing off it.

Pic 6 & 7--P.S.&W No. 795 Tin Smith Sheet Metal Hand Seamer, Bender or Hand Brake

Con't in next post.

Con't on from Previous Post

Pic 1-3--As looking around at this sale, saw what I believe is only the top portion of a clamp. Normally wouldn't pick up, but one of the batch wired together, was marked E. H. Sheldon Chicago and Pat Pend on back. I have a couple of E. H. Sheldon WW vises, so though I should pick them up.

Pic 4-7--W C. Toles #45--Could see the dog and dog tightening clmap was AWOL. But didn't see till got it home that it was missing the nut/cover as seen missing on the bottom in pic #6. Pic 7 isn't my W. C. Toles, but shows the missing cover.

Just a few more things to get pictured and posted, so may be another day or so to finish them all up from the one sale.

I'm thinking because of the shape of the grindstone in 4&5 that it could be for sharpening sickle bar mower knives.

Without that bronze nut and the cover, I'm afraid you are out of luck on getting that vise to tighten up. What a bummer.

I bought a lot of items from this one estate yard sale. Fellow who passed had a great eye for nice old items and he fixed some, but he ran out of time on others.

Guess that's a reminder to all of us!!!

May hang on to it for now in hopes another parts one comes up that could get it back and operating again.

I got this super rare 12 piece metric hornet set yesterday for $3. I think it is missing two sockets a 10mm at least but there are two 9mm so i guess that happened during production? it goes from 6mm to 22mm and they are usa made. If anyone wants better pics i can take more. Here is a thread about hornet tools since there is basically no info on the set. It is apparently as budget brand Williams made for a sort period of time.

I don't have tie to post pics but I picked up a wilton vise, Snap-on extension and fold up hex key set, a 3/8-3/4 set of Blackhawk stubby ratcheting wrenches, a CM awl, a cornwell socket, a Snap-On wrench and two model kits for the grand total of $18.

Your vise reminds me a lot of the Columbina 9R vise I bought that had a heavily worn bronze nut in it. It turned out that the Milwaukee/Morgan Tool Company still makes a similar vise and the bronze nuts for their vise hit on my Columbian. I'm attaching some pics of that vise and a PDF of Milwaukee's parts list. No guarantee that they would fit your vise, but on the chance they did, it looks like you would need part no. 23 and 25.

To the mods, sorry for posting non tool related stuff. Feel free to delete these shirt posts if needed, just not sure if there really is a place here to post this besides here. Ahhhh

So I did some digging and I found this online

http://radvintage.shopgate.com/item/35313238

It is the only place I found it or even an image of it. Scoured the web. Mine is different though, it also has graphics on the back. The one posted in the link does not. Could anyone direct me to maybe a forum that is more suited for this stuff or knows anything about this area? I'll be happy to go private.

Also, noticed variations in the design, such as their background is black and the shooting star and paint is different.....

Limi, if it's a cool we want to see it! I learn about stuff other than tools from this thread!

Cool find on the Hornet. I pick them up when I see them around. Usually just pieces.

I never have either. I met the guy to buy a sk socket set that turned out to be just the box and ratchet were sk. He had this hornet socket set so I bought it along with the sk ratchet and box.

Here is the sk set. I was so happy when I saw this set listed on Craigslist for cheap. I was disappointed tho when I got there and only the box and ratchet were sk. I still picked it up. Btw sorry guys for all the sideways pics. My Dropbox is full so until I clean it out just have to use my phone which for some reason always posts the pics sideways.

This last weekend I went to a court mandated hoarders estate abatement tool and vehicle sale, I went to look at some presses and tow behind gas powered cement mixers but came home with this instead for $3K. First one there! 2002 tacoma 1 owner 120k miles, has all the service records, manual ****** 5 speed, 2.4l 4 cylinder. It was more brown when i got it and was extremely filthy inside and out. I didnt care because it runs perfect and was well maintained. Cleaned up very well.
There was so much good stuff there as far as tools, but i had no more funds to spend!!! there were 2 polaris quads, ARE and Leer camper shells, stihl chainsaws, stihl weed eaters, tons of SO and Mac hand tools. newer running Boat motors, 2008 tacoma, jack hammers, every type of power tool imaginable.

I scored this Jensen Tool Kit in an EBTH auction. Can anyone identify which Jensen kit this one is? It appears to be unused and has some NOS tools that haven't been made for a number of years, and all tools were made in the USA.

I hit a flea market today.

Anybody have any idea who made the 5/16” combination OE / 6-point box end wrench? The shape of the panel looks familiar, but I have never seen these markings before. “ALL AMERICAN MADE”?

The extra heavy duty “perfect handle” screwdriver actually is a true H.D. Smith Co. “PERFECT HANDLE” screwdriver…

Good eye for value. Looks to be in great shape. Cheap money for a vehicle that will last a long time.

How did you happen to hear about this type of sale?

Mike, that trolley is probably discontinued but you can probably find an equivelent here: https://store.daifukuwebb.com/store/Hand-pushed-trolleys-C20.aspx

What size I beam does it fit? (I have a couple similar but probably smaller trolleys for one of my chain falls)

Nice find on the sharpener, whats the COO?

And I'd bet the locks are keeping the table from turning?

Outlawmws:

Jervis B. Webb Detroit #2530 Trolley fits a 4 inch I beam. Have that size in basement, which is where this hand pushed trolley now resides.

On the Pittsburgh Erie Cutlery Sharpener it appears was made by their Saw Corporation in Pittsburgh PA and was pat'd pending at the time this one was made (1949 era). GE Motor and you can set the angle settings for polishing, roughing, finishing knives or cleavers.

Brown & Sharpe 10" Rotary Table was rusted when got it and missing the handle, but it cleaned up pretty well. I've never had one, so if you can tell me what to do in order to unlock the locks, I'll give it a try and see if that would then allow things to move around on it.

NJ Marty:

At sale where I got the John Deere yard stick a few years back, I also picked up an old oil pump can with John Deere on one side and the same dealership name on other that is also on the yard stick.

Current owner of that dealership called when I listed that old oil pump can and said they had tried to keep a collection of everything with their dealership name on it over the years, but that my oil can pump wasn't in their collection.

Oil can pump is now in their collection and I use the yard stick many times in my CL postings.

Private, don't recall seeing a wrench stamped All American Made before, but neat find. That slant panel is like some wrenches from American Forge, Penncraft, and Sparta.
Thanks for the tips, 3bay. I'm wondering if this isn't older than those mfgring outfits though. It's alloy steel with no plating. ???

I don't even collect combination wrenches, but the size, the 6-point end, and the marking were too hard to resist. Compared to "MADE IN U.S.A.", which was originally merely functional (i.e., to meet Country of Origin standards) and only later also became a proclamation of patriotic pride, "ALL AMERICAN MADE" definitely has more of a political statement to it! That's what caught my eye.

Well, getting my truck ready for its annual inspection just kicked my credit card's ****.
Just spent nearly a Grover Cleveland for tires, alignment, and a fuel sensor. As well as a few other minor issues. Toyota parts ain't cheap.

WARNING - I'm about to tell a lie.
For the foreseeable future, I'm out. No more sales until I pay my bills down.
(My skin is already starting to itch, and I think I'm developing a facial tic)
I don't think I'm going to make it.

I'll still be hanging out in the thread, and cheering you guys on, but it will be like asking the crackhead to keep an eye on the pharmacy. :shocking:

Maybe I can get my fix by getting you all to spend your money instead.

Run it past MShaw, on both the DBE and DOE threads he has said he worked at New Britain when they were making Penncraft and Husky branded wrenches matching that panel design.

That wrench does look like a New Britain product to me, maybe it missed the plating step. Looks an awful lot like the Sparta etc. raised panels.
