Picked up this top and bottom set for $30 off a Craigslist ad. The top box is a RemLine and the bottom is a 1972 Craftsman. The Craftsman is missing some slide clips and the panel that goes behind the door (the door is in there). The RemLine was just missing the keys.

That is awesome!! I've been trying to find something similar on CL but have had zero luck. Nice find....restoration?
. I may tell him I want dibs on the top box if he ever sells it. great finds all!!!
Mike,
Your chisels appear to be CutEasy chisels. Not alot of info out there but found a pic of the logo on an Ebay listing:
Also great find on the R.J. auger bits.Look like great shape and hopefully you got a good price. They used to fetch $100+ on Ebay.I haven't kept up with pricing since I got a set 10 years ago and haven't stumbled upon any.
hi all, i just found this thread. i almost fell over when i seen mike post re: auger bits. i was coming home from the store and followed a yard sale sign. at first sight it didn't look all that great but i stopped anyway. picked up a set of russel jennings. the gentleman was kinda firm on 25.00 so i grabbed a few chisles, some hinges and a nesting screwdriver and got the bundle for the 25. i picked up that other box awhile back
Not a garage sale find, but rather a freebie from my BIL.

Brian,
I have a set of Cleveland Twist Drill Co reamers in a wooden box that I would like to definitively date. I'd link the photos here right now if I could, but I recently inadvertently zapped a whole folder of photos. I'll PM you soon.
Alinc100, LesserSon:
Alinc100 was glad to get your pic of that logo on the chisel, as it shows better the words of Cut Easy and the snake on it.
LesserSon:
That info on CutEasy being a registered trademark (June 27 1906) of Smith Bros Hardware Co, of Columbus Ohio makes sense, given we live about 25 miles from Columbus.
In another forum, had found this info on Cut Easy as well.
Jim asked about a Cut Easy chisel. The DAT isn't clear about it. W.
Bingham & Co. of Cleveland, OH, was a hardware dealer who worked
-1841-1946-. The bused a Cut Easy brand name on augers, but not sure
about chisels. Smith Bros. Hdw. Co., Columbus, OH, marked axes with the
brand name Cut Easy; again, not sure if they marked chisels. Sort of
makes me wonder if some maker in OH might have been supplying local
hardware stores with Cut Easy tools?
Thanks again for the help.

Ah, finally found the thread I was remembering: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5576597&postcount=1
So they made pliers, too.
hi mike,Cf mtn:
I still use auger bits with a brace but most of my bits are one's I've picked up over the years at garage sales including some partial bits by Russell Jennings.
So when spotted the 3 tier oak box with a complete set and didn't have to do anything other than clean off some dust from the box, decided it was worth getting.
BTW, when checking info on the 100 series, found that Russell Jennings also sold a 3 tier box set in the 101 series. Difference being that the 101 threads are coarser than the 100 series.
So, looks like I'll be keeping my eye open on getting a 101 series as well!!!

hi mike,
i don't do alot of woodworking, no imagination. i couldn't leave that box behind because i thought it matched the one i had at home. i turned out it is slightly different. the other i found at a sale, poor thing was just laying there, wasn't till i brought it home did i find out that it was quite old.
Cf mtn:
I try and do at least one item per year with just hand tools.
The one I'm most proud of was a Warder Mitchell & Co. of Springfield, Ohio cider press.
Pic 1 shows how the cider press minus the cast iron looked when started, while 2nd pic was how it looked when finished with mostly all new replacement wood.
It was my Dad's and it went back to him when finished.
Mike
Thanks. I'll snap some new photos soon.I'd be happy to identify and photograph the appropriate page.
+1! I passed up a press in sad shape a few weeks ago and looking at this one I am wishing I hadn't.That is a nice press!!! Good job.

great job with the press. that's what i meant when i said i lacked the mind/eye. would've never dreamed pic 1 was pic 2Cf mtn:

Picked up a cabinet for $5.
Now if I can only locate a drawer to replace the missing one. I'm going to use it to store more tools (have two more of these plus a double bay snap on chest but seems there is never enough room to store all my tools)

Craftsman Drill CaseSome recent finds at an estate sale. Got a load of nice vintage tools and a cool old Coleman lamp and lantern ( I collect old Coleman stuff)

Hi txbruno and welcome to the GJ Forum!
I also am into old Coleman stuff...lanterns for the most part.
Are you a member over at http://www.colemancollectorsforum.com?
Great site, suggest joining if you're not there already - great group over there, just like here at GJ.
That red lantern looks like a 200A to me. Not sure on the lamp.

I have a lot of history over at that site. Was a very active member there then got banned a few years back, started another small forum for a chat room. The lamp is a 152 and after clean up I discovered a rather large pinhole in the top of the fount.
If you are interested I can share more of my Coleman collection, it is has grown into a quite large collection.
Bagged Besides missing the stop what condition is the Stephen's? Is there any markings on the top of the slide?
Yes please share. I always look out for the Coleman items but have not come across anything real good in awhile. My last good score was a gold bond 200A in the box about 3 years ago.
