Dave I think I will be also. I took one drawer out to see what's going to work the best to clean it up. The upper lip on every drawer has a film of what looks like bondo dust or primer over spray or both... Any thoughts?

I'd try wiping it with paint thinner first. Then, if that doesn't do it, I'd use coleman fuel (naptha). Might even try acetone.

If it doesn't come off at that point, I'd use automotive rubbing compound. You could also try bug and tar remover.

I'd try a clay bar first.

CB, that's a two sided ladder, isn't it?

Yes it is, that's what made it appealing to me. My son asked me to keep a eye out for a four foot step, came across this and I just gave him my reg. one. He's younger and heals better than I do.:bounce:

It comes in handy as I uaslky just need 16"-2' step to do most of what I need.

So what you're saying is that your garage sale find is ..... the garage itself !
30x60 - nice. I'd have that baby filled to the brim before the ink was dry on the closing papers. Good luck with the negotiations. Looking forward to seeing the pictures if/when the sale happens.

That's one way to look at it!

Like you said though, it's basically filled up with cars already so we shale see what else I can do!

I know what you men. besides more standard ladders, I have two wood step-ladders (One is being retied to the garden for "decorative use" as its too wobbly, and can't be tightened up) and a three foot ladder with the standard ladder rise, instead of the smaller step-ladder rise. I need to bring that one back from the shed to the garage... I'd love to find a two sided ladder like that at 4 or 5'

Again some bigger stuff gotten at a sale. Its a 12000 lb. alligator junk yard shear powered by a 1955 cat d315 power unit. I bought it at noon, got it running, sold it at 3. Didn't have to haul it and made a decent profit.

I'm selling stuff and keep acquiring things without even leaving the house. Same guy that is buying two saws from me came to pick up them up but could only get one, but gave me this wrench.

Just did a trade off CL for this stout push bumper/winch mount. I've been looking for a decent push bumper after I got my plow installed to fab an off-season use for the push plates. Found this one and traded $50 worth of LED's for it. When I met up with the guy I was looking it over quickly and loaded it up in my truck. I noticed how heavy it and the mounting hardware/brackets was and was impressed. Got home and thought nothing of it. Just did a quick google and found out that it is a WARN Trans4mer winch mount! This is the Gen 1. Probably sold for around $800 total new with the mount kit. Now I am extremely happy about this deal :bounce:

Probably a truck winch of some sort. From Wiki "Garwood Industries continued to build wooden racing boats until 1947. Garwood Industries also built truck bodies and winches that were used extensively by truck manufacturers such as International Harvester, and were an OEM supplier to both the civilian and military market. Many trucks built during World War II came equipped with Garwood bodies and winches. One of the biggest contributions by Garwood Industries was the development of the now-ubiquitous garbage truck, which was originally built and sold under the name Garwood Load Packer."

An update on the brass gun cleaning rods I got last Sat:

I thought I had a steel three piece Marbles cleaning rod and 2 sections of a brass three piece, (no grip section).

After cleanup, I discovered I have a 3 piece BRASS Marbles rod (with tip) :bounce: and the 2 section STEEL rods are missing the grip section!

I put the brass rods up on the wall in my hallway - all brass and wood here!

The new additions are the short pistol rod to the left, and the long 30 cal Marbles rod on top:

what is this? please note not alot capacity on the cable drum.
thanks.

WrenchAt old grain elevators before every one had there own engine to move railcars into place to either load or unload they had these tugers located at the dump pit. The RR would drop the cars in place then pull the engine and other cars that were finished. The operator would drag the cable out to hook to the lead car then winch it into place. While it was unloading the cable was hooked up to the second car . They would repeat these for every car. Not much cable required . Just a car length plus at few wraps. Most elevators have demoed these but a few in my area still have them as backup .

Incredible work by the way!!!

I too am liking that wall Outlaw. Didn't know you fished- my favorite past time. Anyways, I picked up this anvil a while back for a dollar. The hammerhead was part of another small purchase, probably cost me another 50 cents. The handle came off of a small ball peen hammer I paid another $1 for. I sanded the handle, gave it some shape with my refurbed 1940s era belt sander, and stained it.

Sweet grips! Looks like it's super easy to index  I picked a small bench anvil like that as well this fall. It's going to get placed at the opposite end on the bowling alley bench I made this year from the 1887 swivel jaw Parker after it gets cleaned up a bit.
