May as well throw the eBay haul up as it was delivered this week, so technically current. Not exactly a steal but everything cleaned up well and there were a few extra pieces included that weren't pictured. Love those little green metal boxes.

Went down to Louisiana with my girlfriend, now fiancé, to visit her family. I always bring cash with me incase I run into some good deals. Well I ran into two deals I couldn't pass up....

Each box was a separate deal. I had them both delivered to the relatives house we were staying at. This was last weekend that I got these. Since we didn't bring a trailer, I borrowed one of the relatives trailer to haul them back. They are coming up for Christmas and will bring the trailer back.

The green box was basically flawless. The red was very nice as well.

I won't say what I paid for them but, I sold the green box by itself this morning for $1000 more than I paid for both of them.....

Green box headed to a new home, Merry Christmas.

.

Last nite's weekly auction with my adult son. Good times for sure. I Santa'd a few pieces to my son from this box and a nice gun case he wanted. Remainders pictured of this $40 lot. I'm pretty happy with the pile.

There was a lot of tools and testers for an electrician there. The Occidental leather goods were fine. One was new with tags. I always wish I had a time machine, right after many lots just finish one bid higher than my last bid. I should have bid harder.

I got 3 of these wire rolls for $7. Just cuz I thought they were too cheap.
4d9dadb81fb9eb35836ee3de5011e5d4.jpg
. maybe the wire rolls are the first thing I feel like selling, eBay about $30 each I see today. Then maybe the misses may lighten up on me. Or maybe she won't.

Merry Christmas to all of you.

Nice finds - that wire is used for burglar alarm installs - very basic stuff but can really be used for anything. Some good tools also!

I went to restore today and found more tools then I had seen in a long time.
Two craftsman ratchets, A PLVMB 3/8 rachet, it is all frozen up. But very clean. a 1/4 in Thorsen, a 1/4 s&k a 1/4 wright and a unknow blue handled 1/4 drive ratchet. I don't see many 1/4 drive ratchets so I purchased all of them. Just under 22.00 with tax.

ALL: i picked this up and posted it over on the metal cabinets thread in Vintage section a while back and didn't hear much about it. any chance any of you might own one of these or maybe tell me where it might have come from or been made for. i bet it weighs close to 300 pounds and seriously built like a TANK. i'm guessing government or maybe a ship's tool box, but really have no clue.

here's the link to the metal cabinet thread in case any of you want to post some of your cool finds over there too.

It looks like there is a hitch on it. I'm reminded of flight line equipment when I see that.

No sales this week end, but hit the antique shops again and found a few things.
6" Cresent Crestalloy

13/16 PowrKraft combo wrench

KR Wilson BV21 V105 early Ford steering wheel puller. model T and A up through 1940 good says.

Also got several Plomb DBE and Combos in from Ebay to add to the slowly growing Plomb collection.

Stopped at a little store on the way to the casino and found a couple wooden handled screw drivers and an Unbrako Key fold no.2

Oh and my 1/2" drive Artisan ratchet came in to keep my 3/8" company. Now I just need a 1/4" !!!

He sole one kept one and MADE $1K... What'a not suckage about THAT?

I can't wait for the Tyngsboro one to reopen after the holiday! They got in a TON of 3M electrical stuff. I bought some Friday but I am going back for the rest.:bounce:

Waggoner - YOU ****!

He shouldn't have to. If he bought two, and sold one for a thousand bucks more than he paid for both of them, that's suckage, prima facie.

BTW, nice grab in the ratchets. My local ReStore was closed today.

Whose territory you poaching in Waggoner72 LOL? North, central or south Louisiana?

Thanks y'all. We were near Baton Rouge area. One box actually came from south mississippi and they brought it an hour and half to me where we were.
Yes basically but the other box will be for sale shortly.

Little funny, the local snap on man sent me a message and asked where I was getting all these boxes.... if only he saw inside my garage....

I got a few boxes of miscellaneous tools at an online auction. Amid the more interesting stuff I found these Plomb crowfoot line wrenches. I could not find out much about them, but they may be cadmium plated and perhaps date from the war years. I believe they are not too common.

I've been trying to meet up with the seller of this vise for a few weeks, finally did it today. A 4" Heinnich quick set/release for my drill press. I just love how these operate. The PO made a new set of jaws with a lip to hold material well above the slide bars. Paid $ 55.

I really press today to find a sale with zero success . Then someone answered a cl ad I have out to find junk and I went to check out what the ol'timer had. He had some 1960's Snap-on tool boxes that were pretty beat up and he wanted 500 for all 3 pieces. I didn't bite on that but between the 2 shops and 5 other tool boxes and numerous wall hangers I was able to fill a couple of old Craftsman tool boxes he had with some decent stuff . Every thing came to 40 bucks , boxes included. One box is a saw box but I thought the shape was cool so it followed me home. Here's the list I put in the boxes...

Whitney Jr. punch - complete.
2 craftsman ball peen hammers , including one of the smallest ball peens I have ever had. It still had partial 1930 -1940's logo on the handle :rocker:
3 bottle nose hammers all different sizes for different pin sizes. -2 are marked US
Coal hammer
old metal scale tray for nails and such I recon. I'm gona use it for sorting hardware
Hargrave wing nut C-clamp
Brown & Sharp mic
Queen Steel 98 boot knife
2 new hammer handles
db axe marked US 88
1/2" craftsman -VV- series ratchet
Proto 3/8 ratchet
Wards 1/2 ratchet - Indestro made these I think
Diamond auto wrench
Bunch of adjustable wrench... 1- 12" proto, 1- 10" Diamond , 2- 8" Proto, Klein, 6 -6" 1- Snap-on, 1- Williams, 2- crescent, 2- craftsman
6" Penens pipe wrench
and one whatsit???

Hi Top, Nice finds! I love finding Whitney Jr's with all the dies and punches intact! is the gage stop and key in the box also? That's an older one, the "newer" versions have plastic coated handles. I think I now have enough so I can have one setup for each size die.

Not sure on the "whatzit" maybe for wheel weights? :dunno:

I was thinking a wheel weight tool as well but the rear piece spins like it's on a bearing and can't figure out the purpose of that. That's a negative on the key... :(

Found out... Not a tool at all but it's the bale hook from a knotter assy on an IH baler or binder

Here is an odd one. I picked up some Craftsman calipers as part of a lot of old tools at auction. When I turned them over they had "England" stamped on the reverse. I had no idea Sears ever sourced anything from England.

Has anyone else ever seen anything like this?

Jreb: i've got a few English made Craftsman tools and can't recall off hand which ones, but i also didn't know they had a source there until i found mine. nice looking Plvmb crow feet. BEE CAREFUL cleaning Beryllium tools if that's what they are cause the dust can be toxic and cause cancer if you happen to hit them on a grinder or wire brush.

Waggoneer: you are the HIGH END METAL CABINET GURU. nice finds AGAIN. if you have time you are welcome to post up your growing Vidmar and other metal cabinets on the metal cabinet thread to make those members that look at that thread more jealous. sounds like you had a nice trip and a good Christmas. also since you were in an area that just flooded a few months ago any evidence of flood damage to any of those boxes? here's the link for the metal cabinet thread in case you hadn't seen it yet.

Those "bottle nose hammers" appear to be hot punches. There's also a hot chisel there. All anvil tools.

They were $250 each plus delivery. They both came on nice casters, but I'm removing them. I'm probably going to keep the blue one since I already have enough shallow drawers.

Would love to have the other one depending on your location. I'm in central Arkansas.

Great finds, I always love working delivery into a deal.
It gives me a special kind of feeling knowing I stole something, while laying in bed in my pjs waiting on the delivery. :)

You ****!

Thank you sir! I take pride in all my boxes. I'm currently working on moving all my tools and boxes into one shop and I'll get some good pictures and post them there.

Nope, no evidence of flood damage to the boxes, they both were like new. Just a couple people hard up for some Christmas money.

Waggoner72...

Nice cabinets, and a great price! Jealous that you had such luck poaching in my area. What method did you use to find those, if you don't mind me asking (i.e. CraigsList, eBay, garage sale, etc)? Lots of good storage there.

I have former clients in Cabot and Jacksonville, and have been to both...though it's been a few years. I don't get much North of Shreveport for business these days, aside from a random training in downtown Little Rock every few years.

I can't give out too much information but I'll say you are on the right track.
I like your word, "poaching" lol. It really was all luck. I tried it few weeks ago when we were in Tulsa Oklahoma with no success.
Nice to hear, I stay in Cabot but I'm in Little Rock almost daily.

Thank you Pete bottlenose or hammer punches is what I always call them . But I'm not sure what you're referring to as a hot chisel?

Woo Hoo !
We're getting there. Just 3 more pages to tie the 2014 thread record !

I was going to check out a last minute listing for an estate sale on Monday, but then I took a look at my bank account and decided it would be better if I stayed in bed that day. The sale was in BlueBomber's neighborhood, so a long drive for me anyway.

I may have to pass on an auction on Saturday as well. :dunno:

Instead, I consoled myself by paying too much on eBay for the last socket I need to complete my Cman 3/4dr set. We'll see if it shows up before the year ends.
