Reminds me of the old saying about "bring enough gun."
I guess topop didn't bring enough lunch.

For chicom replacements?![]()
Picked up a Metabo WE14-150 Quick (601451420) for $40

Actually they are still made in USA... Both in the sets & individual...
(Happened to be at sears today and while looking at stuff I remembered to check.)
I thought I'd share this pic that EOC Jason made up in another thread. This so applies to me at some estate sales I've been to.
I've been to some where they encourage you to set your pile down so you can keep shopping. I've just seen too many people help themselves to someone's pile.

On Saturday, I squatted down next to an older guy, he was digging in one bin and I started in the bin next to it, and he started barking at me that he was "here"... I just gave him a look that said "Are you Effing Stupid?", There were 6-8 bins in the "area"; he's working all of them?![]()
No sales yet, but picked up this KRA-59B off CL last week.
Look almost identical to my CL find from a few months ago, found the bottom 352 for $35 at an estate sale. then the top on cl for $100 the next day. Now Im filling it up!

Now for the whole purpose of my trip was these super nice Craftsman Professional metric set of wrenches (Made by SK)...
Also got a bunch of other USA Craftman combo wrenches & sockets...
$70 out the door for the lot.
Great score on the SK wrenches, Jason! Bonus points for picking up some extra goodies on the trip. And thanks that I didn't have to send my operatives out of Fayetteville.![]()
We when to go estate sales, my 77yr old neighbor will dig in every nook and cranny in the garage (after going through all the stuff they set up in the middle with prices). He will look in coffee cans, old boxes, behind the old boxes, etc, etc... Finds some awesome stuff though that so many other people missed.

Don't forget to look UP as well.
I've found some good stuff hiding in the rafters and between floor joists, not to mention the dark holes on top of foundation sills.
Oh yeah, when they are open I definitely do... But most garages here are sheet-rocked. I go everywhere, even looking around under decks. If there is anything that he's taught me is to leave no stone unturned! Even if something looks like a pile of trash in the corner, I'll go through it... Costs nothing but a minute of time.
Sounds like your neighbor is pretty cool. Should get him on here!I'll give you a YOU **** for that one! Looks like a 6"? Nothing better than metabo![]()
Sometime I walk away with good stuff because nobody wants to bend down, move stuff, or get dirty.
I saw some tools on Craig's List last night, and skipped dinner to check it out.
This guy had a whole garage full of Father-in-law's tools, who passed away. I cherry picked a few items, but could have bought more. I just hate to end up with stuff I don't need, because I'm not into buying and selling. I just use my tools.
So for $55, here's what I got (see photos):

They had this nice set of 3/8" SK sockets, deep & regular, SAE & metric, don't even look used.

Jason you might try Cripe Distributing for that missing 3/4 Armstrong. So I just couldn't get those Armstrong wrenches out of my head. I went back to the pawn shop and there they were... Guy was like, "I think these have been sitting quite a while." and gave me a good price on them, $40 out the door. The only one that looks used is the 1" where someone was beating on it. They rest just have residue from being bundled in electrical tape.
Also saw some crows foot wrenches zip-tied in a big bundle, took a quick glance and saw NAPA USA and Wright. They were marked $15, but he took $10.
Of course I get home and the Armstrong set is missing a 3/4". No biggie, I'll find one, can't complain for the price!
Crows feet were a mixed bag. I almost have a complete SAE set with the napa's, just the 7/8" is missing but there is a Wright in that size. Then just some miscellanous metric sizes in Napa, wright, and a matco.
Then I stopped by a different pawn shop. They had this nice set of 3/8" SK sockets, deep & regular, SAE & metric, don't even look used... Was tempted to buy, but price was a little high. Still considering... They've sat there for like six months, I don't think they will go anywhere.

Once in a while you can steal them on eBay for <$100, most in the $125 range.

When I was a kid, my grandmother would drag me to junk shops. This was before they went upscale and added the "que" to the name. I'd be looking under the tables and she was always poking me and telling me to always look up. Now I can't help myself. I've been conditioned.![]()
Bora- I'll give a YOU ****!. That looks like a beautiful cabinet. Nice haul.
