First up for my garage sale score today, NOS Binks oil spray gun, NOS HF spray gun, used Sata Jet 90(story of it in a minute), OTC puller in the ziplock, NOS cheapo heavy duty corner clamp, NOS *********** Mitutoyo mic. 429c00677ebf4a4c10c3f33dd6a5ca0a.jpg

I filled a 5 gallon bucket with tools, then I saw a cardboard box with 3 spray guns in it, the HF and the Sata above, along with a brand spanking new in box Sata Jet 90. I scooped up the entire box with the three guns and a few odds in it and added it to my pile. When it came time to check out, the seller stopped and said, "wait, I bought my dad(who's estate he just inherited) a Sata for xmas back in blah, blah, blah(all I could hear was him picking the NOS Sata out of my pile) and unfortunately it is not for sale".... Saddened, I negotiated a price on the remaining box and bucket of tools, he didn't even take one look in the bucket before we settled on a price and I was out of there! Bucket pics next.

And now for the bucket contents. Sorry for the sideways pic, you'll see a cool ornate desk lamp, two unmarked(cheap looking) body dollies, cheap radius gage set(better than the one I didn't have before), joiner gage(?), dial indicator, Craftsman pliers and two ratchets, Williams breaker bar, unknown strut spring compressor, NOS AC Delco Switch, cardboard container has never been breached, I though that was pretty sweet. The bag with the red sticker on the left is a brand new Napa 1/4 air ratchet, right next to it is a brand new old stock Craftsman Professional crown top 0-1" mic with the box and literature next to it. Snap On and Starrett 6" rulers, new box of 16ga 2" trim nails, Proto socket, Hurst Shifter handle, weld fillet gage set, Warren fireman axe head, four/6 NOS Mitutoyo outside mic set, big bags of Rolocs, Starrett level ruler, tape measure and dial indicator and either a General or Century dial indicator thingy iirc.

Hit several sales yesterday but only one had anything for me.

My favorite thing is the Camilus Vietnam era pilots survival knife dated 5-67.
Other things are steel wool, Pro 409 cleaner, 3 in 1 oil from Ben Franklins LOL, Grime Boss wipes, Rayovac vintage Sportsman flashlight, Kraeuter needle nose pliers, Proto water pump pliers and a Wright 3/8" long extension.

Spent $9 total.

Awesome knife BB!

dngrmse, you would not believe how much stuff was NOS, most of it was hf, northern tool quality **** but there was a few nice things. I first found the box for the lil Craftsman mic with the papers inside but no mic, my heart sank then as I was focusing on the items on the shelf, there it sat waiting for me to find it. I spent way too much time on the other side of the shelf in that room checking out the Offenhauser ****, there was two guys come and go on the other side while I was there and several before us. I'm dying to know what I missed and what is still there. Merc just hit me up and said he passed back by there on the way home(jerk :p) and scored even more. I'll be back over there for sure, you would not believe the accumulation.

Had a good couple days here, yesterday I had some business in Eugene, so swung by the Restore and a used tool shop that just opened. Picked up all this for $26 total:

MAC Sabina clutch driver, misc. tommy bar and a Wright 3/8" deep from the restore, and Snap On socket spinner, Proto LA 1/4" extention, Vogel (Proto) double head ratchet and Herbrand 3/4". Unfortunatly, I opened up the Vogel to find this inside:

Got any salsa for those chips? Have to keep my eyes open for something that will work...
Today I went to a Barn sale, that was on the second day, so they were calling everything half off. I spotted this in a corner marked $50:

And though, Well, for $25 that could be a cheap heritage era TS, but when I looked closer I spotted a joiner on the other side of the table:

And the motor? Pretty old looking Craftsman:

Offered him $20, and he loaded into my truck.

Going to join in on this thread as it has become a hobby of my to do the same as many others on here. I had alot of stuff last year but never got to join in. I would like to learn more about some of the stuff I pick up as well. Scored on Craigslist yesterday and picked up some vises - 3 of which were advertised the big post vise not but it came home with me. Columbian D431/2M4 , sears craftsman ? , Erie tool works no 1-H pipe vise , Arthur .J.O'leary post vise v-6 70 (5 1/2" jaws and 73lbs) and a Stanley hatchet/hammer no59-140. Total of $120 and the seller had some more stuff I might pick up. Will prob post the vises in the vise thread to get some more info on the post one as I couldn't find too much online about A.J.O'leary.

BMWRD0, he ratchet looks like a re-branded Proto to me. If you have one of the same drive size, I'd pull it apart and see if the parts drop in.

The same looking Herbrand will work too. Challenger too.

It was made by Proto, some of the Vogels are marked with both names. I am looking for another dual head though, 3/8" on one side 1/2" on the other. Herbrand won't work though and Challenger is Proto made so... I probably have a 3/8" piece around somewhere, but already have several pearheads by Proto in rotation.

Yep, Proto made those for Vogel. Swapping guts won't get you the double head 3/8 - 1/2 though...

Not uncommon for those to show up with sheared off teeth. rebuild kits are unobtainium.

IMO your only shot to get it working again is to get a really good welder to build up teeth material with a TIG, and then hand file new teeth profiles.

Mine had one tooth out and I still use it. Multiple teeth missing and that is not an option..

I think the reason you see these with sheared teeth is the handle is the extra long 3/8 pattern handle.

Some more stuff from the back yard I am cleaning up for the neighbor lady. Nothing much but if I didn't sort through the mess this stuff would be in the trash or scrap.

3 each Anderson SB 350 amp connectors, small box of special nuts, Matco tool box badge, rusty little hand vise, bushing drivers?, some kind of puller, Craftsman pole saw with a 1956 patent, plow wrench and a Blue Point drill bit sharpener that appears to be a re-labled General Hardware one.

Picked up a couple of lots today at the sale previously described by Nine. He, my cousin, and I went there first thing in the morning. I was mostly after the motor (New Marathon 1HP 1PH TEFC 1725 RPM) and the Mitutoyo indicator with granite base. I got those and lot of other misc. items for $100. Pretty good deal, but Nine did a lot better.

On the way home I got stuck on an ad hoc work conference call, which I wasn't participating in much, so I decided to play hookey and went back to the sale. I picked up a bunch of cutters, end mills, inserts, reamers, a large bronze plate, etc. I did better on this lot, paying $60.

WP_20170204_18_15_54_Pro.jpg

I had a blast at this sale. This is the same sale I picked up the 1 HP block grinder and metal table from earlier in the week. Seller is a super nice guy and I knew a few people there, some that I had sent the seller's way. As Nine said I'm almost sick to my stomach if there's still this much good stuff left over after a month of people picking it over.

On one hand, I know Nine was going on 1.5 hours of sleep so I would think he'd be asleep right now. On the other hand, the free lunch he mentioned was Taco Bell, so that may be keeping him awake.

Those tacos ran the dog off, she usually lays below my chair...

I had to stay up and check out the pics, couldn't remember what all you got this morning. You scored man, lots of good things in there. I have NEVER seen the Craftsman socket wrenches like that in the wild. The endmills, reamers, thread gage, block of bronze... You **** for sure! IDK if it was the lack of sleep or the scope of the sale but my mind was racing all day thinking about that place. I'm just starting to relax.

Looks like you all are doing great this week! Lots of cool stuff.

I see you LA guys got some good hits.

Bluebolt nice Camillus.

Bmw I agree with Outlaw on the ratchet. I have one with tooth damage too. When doing 1/2" drive work with the long 3/8 body there must have been some issues in the design.

Well, I've been a little busy but yesterday I made a few stops. The flea was a bitter cold wasteland and yielded nothing I couldn't live without.

I made a stop at another monthly flea and not very good. Had just a couple scrappy finds. Some old Plomb cutters made it worth it though.

Then I saw a random family estate sale sign and darted over there. Surprise surprise, the two room house sale was half tools. No furniture. No clothes. Amen!

I just beat a bunch of guys there too, but missed out on a 3/4 socket set I heard.

I left with a load of wrenches, a nice old cantilever box, and some antique planes all for 30 bucks. I got lucky with the planes I think. Can't believe they were still there (nicely hidden under a shelf) and priced 3 bucks apiece. The guy gave me both for 5 though, no negotiating!

No pics to share yet sorry!

Could you send me a pic of those casters when you get them installed? I have an old Delta bandsaw and was unaware of such a thing.

Here is the manual on them jmarkwolf, I was unaware of them until last year. The splayed leg stand sits on the caster pieces and a single bolt goes through each leg to secure them. I'll post pics when I install them, Merc said they physically function but not to today's standards of moving a top heavy machine around. He got a mobile base from Northern Tool that's more stable and offered these to me. I don't move mine a lot so I figure it will be perfect for my needs.

You guys are doing great! - I pretty much got rained out due to the threat of rain (but nothing more than mist...).

I stopped by the HS Flea, which was near empty. an almost full bottle of Wright's Anti-tarnish Silver polish and that was it...

No pics, picked up a 1/3HP round top block grinder on a pedestal. Guess I'll be putting the grinder on eBay in a few days, really only bought it for the pedestal.

You guys are finding some good stuff!

Here's my haul from yesterday's flea excursion.
I netted this POWR-KRAFT table saw, with original motor and stand for ... $5!:rocker: Everything seems to free wheel fine, but the plug has been cut off the cord. We'll see if the motor works.

attachment.php

Then I found this Kennedy machinist chest. Talked him down to $10 from $20... Missing the garage door and the lock, but it cleaned up really well with some WD-40 and all the drawers slide well.

attachment.php

The rest is a myriad of awesomeness. Cleveland Twist drill bit index, 3in Keystone vise, SnapOn, Armstrong, Bonney, Easco, Dunlap, Plomb, Vlchek, Herbrand... Best day at the flea for me so far this year. :3gears:

Cool Drill index stand Username! needs Closeups in the Drill index thread!

Nice find on the table saw. I actually like those mini table saws. I have a small Craftsman and for what I do most of (ripping 1x's) and the occasional small "Miter cut this!" piece, plus some dado cuts, It would work well, so I'm Leaning strongly to selling off the doubled up 10" table saws...

I just added a pic of the drill index to that thread as well.

Outlaw, indeed the rock pick is somewhat out of place but I figure I can use it to take out small dents on trim molding on my restro job (1960 Chevy Truck). The Diamond Wrench is 12" and does open wide.

You guys are scoring all kinds of nice stuff. I spent the weekend working in the family business, laying new flooring in the break room and redoing the exam room lavatory. Nice to compete some projects, but no time for picking--probably a good thing there were no decent sales nearby.

Not a garage sale, but I found this on CL. I did a quick bead blast and respray in the closest I could find to SnapOn extreme Green.

Unfortunately it didn't come with a key. I plan to replace the lock with a K1LA.

Get to your local closing Kmart. Fixtures are for sale. Nationwide? First come first serve. Bypass the call list.

Costco LED light mounted on blue light special. $29 + $25. And the blue light works great too.

Technically the truck is a garage sale item, 2001 with a couple small scratches to fix and only 36000 miles. Weekly estate warehouse auction.

Point is Kmart has some interesting things for sale. Pallet racks and big popcorn machine? Cute bench at the pharmacy?

We had a nice clean local Kmart. I'll miss it. But now I have stuff to remember it. Im not sure why we needed 2 new dollar stores that I never go in. Kmart born in 62. Coincidence.

You have to pay, then they put a sticker on the item with your name and number. They will call later when they don't need the item any longer and you can pick up. Kinda risky.

Most things with wheels cost $50. Not cheap, but very commercial quality.

There are some things they will let you take right now. Hence the light and one rack.

Important to skip the call list binder. My name was there on a few items. But turns out they're just selling the stuff ignoring the list. So I lost the Kmart bench. Only was $15.

If I hadn't popped in, I'd got zero.

Good idea. We have one in the process of closing right now. I think I'll swing by tomorrow.
