Nobody mentioned I had not posted pictures of the Craftsman box LOL. Here it is!

Pic 1: The Craftsman 9 drawer roller cabinet. I haven't checked the date yet.
Pic 2: Small odds and ends, parking tokens, old matchbooks, a few C-clamps and a cool little 1970 Westinghouse note book. If I wait until 2026 I can use the notebook calendar again!
Pic 3: Various Craftsman screwdrivers, some are older Vanadium ones. On the right are a couple of Stanley utility knives, Craftsman and other brands punches and chisels and other odds and ends.
Pic 4: A bunch of Craftsman =V= sockets, Craftsman files and a few other pieces. The torque wrench is a Crown label 1/2"D.
Pic 5: A bunch of caulking chisels including several Plomb's, modified Vise Grips, wire hose clamp pliers and various other bits. I don't remember what is in that roll up pouch LOL.
Pic 6: Walden nutdriver holder, Bonney refrigeration and distributor wrenches, Williams 1/2"D sockets, brass sprinkler wrench, mini wood plane missing parts, Craftsman allen wrenches and a 3 way utility wrench with no markings.

Any body know what that wood plomb bob looking thing is? No hole for a string.

Pic 7: Outdoor switch box, rivets, bulbs, gluesticks, stack of Norton cutting discs and an older Louisiana license plate.

There's more small stuff I may not bother putting on here.

Yes there were tons of fittings, cylinders, and "power units?" But I did not know the value of them or the right buyers, but if someone can guide me I'll go back and pick them up too. Supposedly he is having a big sale Saturday to sell everything that is left.

Yeah. After all the peace and love you buy the whole thing.

I prayed about the deals that were stowed upon me.

Fowl: some of us actually keep our trailer attached to our rigs just in case a machine shop or good find is on the drive.


Wag: i seem to recall you buying, trying to buy or building a new garage and guessing some of this stuff will fit in their nicely. WELL DONE SIR!! any more pictures of the Wilton C2 to post over on the big vise thread cause other than the Baby it might be my favorite Wilton model?

My trailer usually is attached but my shop was right up the road so it was a quick trip to grab it.


I already have my own shop but yes we have been house hunting and did look at one with an extra shop. We ended up backing off of it since we really don't need that much for our first home.

Started out seeing a CL ad with some nice Sandvik (Sweedish Steel / Made in Holland) Wood Chisels. He also had some old Irwin auger bits for a hand-drill, unfortunately a couple ends were cut off to use with a power drill There was also a 3# hammer & transfer shovel listed so I said I would take those too.

I get there and find out him & the wife are moving into an RV and traveling the country so they are selling everything that won't go with them. He had a nice small Stanley 118 plane, Stanley rasp, a saw, and 6" Ryobi bench grinder with a good buffing wheel on one side.

Gave him $60 for everything, which I think was fair. The chisels are in super nice shape, he only honed the edges when they got dull, they are not half-*** ground or filed. Everything else has a little surface rust but still well taken care of. Didn't really need the grinder but I can set it up as a dedicated cloth buffer.

Went by a local pawn shop, found an Armstrong 1-1/16" Combo wrench that was the same style as the set I have (and probably was actually part of the set I bought a month or so ago from them that went up to 1", lol). Paid like $8 I think for the wrench and little 6mm socket. I dug through a ton of other sockets & wrenches there but came up empty.

Guys, I finally got around to my finds from Friday. Went to 4 sales.

Pic 1- three oldie Cornwell wrenches, note the inconsistencies in stamping and direction. Kind of interesting.

It's all a mix of mostly old USA stuff - Williams,Vulcan, Duro, Crescent, Armstrong, J.P. Danielson BetRGrip, Proto, Snap On Craftsman, and some others. An old Great Neck hammer, Baltimore punch, Ford Pliers in there.

Went hard on the adjustables this week, they were all cheap.

thanks, i'm calling it the "l'il rock crusher" after the famous electric powered larger alemite greaser. all u guys turning up adjustables keep peeled for international harvester 10"& 12" to fill out my collection. preemo trading stuff.

ALL: speaking of something different i've been thinking i needed a VINTAGE FRIDGE and actually started a thread about them a few months ago. well the idea turned into something i actually bought and own now and here's what a 70 ish year old Hotpoint refrigerator looks like that hasn't been abused and it was the only fridge in a household raising 3 boys so they needed to buy a bigger one and sell this one to me.

Cool 1" vintage pipe wrench. Picture 3 shows the logo on the pipe wrench. Never seen that one before.

I don't recall seeing that logo with the "W" inside the arrow, but I'm pretty sure that's a Walworth logo. They're the original patent holders of the Stillson style pipe wrench.

First real sale of the year around here (it was a warm weekend for Feb in PA).
Some highlights, New Blue-Point or Snap-on 25 piece extractor set(box says Blue-Point, directions say Snap-On), over 120 sawzall blades, Tamper resistant bit set, 6 carbide burrs, Huot cobalt drill bit set, 5 step drills, small Blue-point (Irega) adjustable wrench, Starrett punch set, really fine/small sized Blue-Point file set and other stuff. $50 for all of it. I showed up before it started but LOTs of early birds that I know got some good stuff.

I spent Saturday at Florida Flywheelers which has the largest flea market I have ever attended. However for all the delights I bought very little. First purchase was an adjustable reamer that I have been wanting. Followed by an unusual Proto ratchet. At $8 I hopefully didn't overpay for it. Regardless I have cleaned and lubed it for use. Only other buys were sanding discs and belts.
Then finally a restoration project delivered by Cbacres. A number 5 Stanley plane.

Craptain- that ratchet is most likely from a sleeve roller tool for telephone line work. Not sure exactly how they would work but I have one. They came with a Plomb, and then later a Proto ratchet that had a spinning knob on the end. The knob is missing. Either way you have a good ratchet.

Was heading back home in the rain when I got the tool hunting itch after a very long break, So I went to a pawn shop that I’ve had mixed results in, nothing of interest there. Decided to hit the other pawn shop a block down by foot. I have an incomplete spreadsheet inventory... I keep hacking at it and add any new stuff that I've done that category for. but its an uphill battle...

As to worrying about gaps, I'm long past that. I know I have gaps but if I like it and its reasonably priced I'm probably buying it anyway... Every so often a set completes in a model/brand and I've probably already started on set thee, or five, or ten...

I have a list but I try to keep it short. It's just for things to keep an eye out if I can find them cheap. I also keep a list of dupes I have so that if I find an incomplete set at a pawn shops that I can make complete then I can resell.

I've never seen a "Stanley Plane" with the raised "X" on the bottom, it may just have a stanley "lever cap". Would be interesting to find out what it is.

It is a genuine but mistreated Stanley made in England. Apparently the raised webs were a later thing, perhaps to increase rigidity after reducing the thickness of the casting.

I have a spreadsheet I built in Google so I can access it anywhere on any pc or my cell. Its very easy to look and see what I have and dont by the tool part number. I mainly collect Plomb. Shoot me and email Ill send you a copy of it. works great. great haul btw!

Thanks, I have 20 acres not far from here that has no power.. being able to use tools there would be useful. Motor wise it doesn't look to different than a lawnmower so hoping a good cleaning and at least one will fire back up. I like working on small motors so getting them for free was a no brainer.
