I'm guessing the 80th anniversary set came and went, as I was unabel to find it on their website.
It did, Outlaw, and no anniversary set that I know of. Maybe they never found a source for the vintage cases!

And now I guess I'll have to open every dang blue/black eyeglass case I ever see from now on... :willy_nil
Oh man, too funny. I've lost count! And they were all just empty eyeglass cases, of course!

I love Chapman sets and use them all the time.
I was very impressed with the design and the construction.

Pic 7 Body hammer set. All Snap On and Blue Point except one Bonney which I found out after.
Here's the difference between 3bay and me. He comes home with a whole set; I come home with one BF-611 dinging hammer (1951 date code)!

From my haul last week:

20170324_122032_resized_zps1knylchu.jpg

What are the date codes? And are the handles embossed like this?

20170324_171412_zpspxoieg8t.jpg

The part # sort of looked military-ish.

# A-293001

Good instincts. That number is an Ordnance Dept drawing number, which doubled as a stock number. And the prefix is based on the size of the drawing. Tiny parts are always A numbers, bigger parts B numbers, etc.

I'm not familiar with that particular tool (or any tools in that or any other armored vehicle toolkits), but it's pretty neat with the knurled handle and the cross bar hole.

Williams Vulcan hook
I have a Williams Vulcan threaded eyebolt collection going.

Opening weekend at the local flea market. Pretty much just looking it all over and picking only small-time bargains. Screwdrivers by Stanley, North Bros ratcheting, Bon-E-Con, local advertising; Bonney brake spring tool, Lindstrom Sweden round-nose pliers (first I've seen that really don't have any teeth & hoping they won't mar soft metal), JPDanielson pliers, 9" Ford wrench (MDF I think), #4 CTO tap wrench, hollow brass-handled drill with a few bits in it, pruners, brace bits, Kearney&Foot safety file, Mossberg 19/32 hex socket (somehow failed to pick up a Mossberg 23/32 square socket), 9/16 New Britain hex drive socket, Disston jab saw handle.
$13 total.

I ran back to estate sale I hit yesterday with a promise of 'more tools'. Pretty much a bust, grabbed a toolbox tray (hope it fits a box I have that is missing one) grabbed three wall or ceiling mounted pulleys, a sandvik handsaw ($1), and a baseball mitt (I have 4 boys, an extra mitt is always handy).

Total spent $8

Lugz I will take a look tomorrow for some dates on the hammers. Neat handle, I didn't notice on these but have the feeling that is earlier.

Thanks for the info on that kit tool. I wonder who the maker was. Hard to say. Could be any of the old brands I suppose.

4 boys ?? :wtf:

No wonder you look for excuses to get out of the house. :willy_nil :lol_hitti

There is a lot of truth to this statement. I go to these sales telling my wife that I'm building tool kits for each of them. Kind of mostly true...sometimes.

Also got this box of taps and dies yesterday. Had to do a bit of surgery, the right side panel and 2 of the drawers were broken. Took it to the hardware store where I have use of the bench, clamps, etc. The owner is going make me a replacement front for the top right drawer and then I will be back in business!

One estate sale today, but got there late after spending the morning replacing my water heater....

They had some old "built in" cabinets from something like a Craftsman house that were cool, but no space for those! Other than that, totally picked over except for this:

attachment.php

I also had a Freecycle pickup for a 15 foot RV awning. Incomplete, no support poles, but I want it for my hot tub and will use it for a privacy curtain on the long side.

Oh man that box is cool Jeff, that gets my vote for fan favorite of the week for sure!

I think I agree, that is the cool find of the week! VERY cool Box! well found Jeff!!

See if you can find some OLD wood somewhere to keep the replacement parts close!

That has patina similar to an old chest I got a year or so ago. I like it!

Had a good couple a days, starting with an estate sale on Fri:

Couple Stanley screwdriver racks, Snap On awl, Williams combo, couple sets of leads for my Simpson, socket boxes, some misc sockets, putty knife, a chisle and the cool find, an unused set of vintage Outers Gunslick stock refinishing in original tin. $15 total.
Sat another estate sale, that had been picked over pretty good and a trip to a use tool shop:

Set of Shimano high flange 333's, some combo wrenches (Williams and Proto) misc sockets, a Chapman set, hex keys and a cool old Hoppes no. 9 bottle.
Sun was a indoor swap, that was a total bust, and then back to the Fri estate sale for 1/2 off day:

Some misc but the highlights are the Hiawatha reel and the Dazor 1101. $11.

According to the TM 9-1727B, your jet wrench is part of a Carter carburetor repair kit that came in a leatherette roll-up. I know that Snap-On provided Carter repair kits in roll-ups and small cases. (EDIT: So did Kent-Moore, especially special service tools.) I'll try to do some cross-checking on all the part numbers in that kit (looks like A293001 through A293013) in my references.

The round nose pliers are for putting a loop in wires that are connected to the screw terminals of light switches and outlets.

First decent flea for me this year. Lots of vendors and lots of stuff.
I found a whole bunch of vintage hand tools. Brands are Tiger Tools, Bonney, Duro, Easco, Thorsen, Craftsman, P&C, Vanadium Tool Co. Snap-On, Wizzard, Cornwell, Powr-Kraft and a small anvil hardy.

Here's all the hand tools... almost.

attachment.php

A nice little haul of 1/2in and 1/4in drive ratchets. The 1/2in guys are Penncraft, SK made Tiger Tools, Bonney, Bonney, and Duro. The 1/4in are Easco and JC Penny.

attachment.php

I've been struggling for some storage space lately, so I picked up this 6 pack of Safe-T-Stak bins. Missing one drawer.

attachment.php

And finally, I just couldn't leave it behind. But this cherry 3/4in drive Craftsman (K) set followed me home as well. :willy_nil

Lots of goodies--lots not pictured as I've already listed some finds on the 'bay. The Famco 0 was a score for $22 as was the new Makita with battery for only $60.. Great to have a backup for my Makita that's been going strong for 7 years. The Nupla hammer is odd--huge head on the dinky fiberglass hammer. The wrenches mostly came from the first Flea of the year-good old Craftsman, Bonney and Herbrand Tappets, Snappy refrigeration wrenches which I may keep-proto obstruction wrench and some other odds..

Got this for $30. Works but needs bearings on the motor and maybe one of the pulleys. One of the oil plugs on the motor is missing and oil just pours out. Still think I got a great deal. It doesn't bog down while grinding.
