I picked a KAL USA 3/8 ratchet today for $1. I got a 8' fiberglass ladder and a toolbox with tools in it for FREE! Most of the tools are cheap ones but there a few Craftsman and Stanley screwdrivers in it. But free is free.

I know some people like the "after" story. I thought about keeping the parts cabinet which turned out to be made by Hobart. In the end I decided I had too much stuff and not enough money for my 1968 Ford Torino GT convertible project so I put it on Craigslist for $150. Was offered $75 for it but declined, told them $100 was minimum I would take. So it was on Craigslist for a while then yesterday a guy called wanting it BAD, he was 4 hours away north of Dallas. So today he came and picked it up, paid my full asking of $150! I asked him why he wanted it so bad and he said his buddy had the EXACT same one for his gun supplies and loading equipment and it worked really great so he started looking for one and was happy to get an identical one!
Nice! All's well that ends well.

Some Lista'y goodness this evening! $25 workbench drawer.

It is about 8" tall, 20 some inches wide and around 28" deep, much larger then I was expecting.

Some nice finds here lately- Here's a couple items I picked up- first is a kick press from CL- I have no use for it, but it sure does look cool in the garage! (paid $45)
I may re-purpose the base at some time down the road.

20170401_154656_zpscv36pqkm.jpg

Next are a couple of tiny hammers all that was left on the 2nd day of an estate sale- somehow they always follow me home.

I have that small hammer. Was the first tool I ever got around 3-4 years old.

Been so busy lately I haven't had time to drop by here and see all of everyone's new goodies. I did find time to go visit my folks a couple weekends ago and hit some estate sales while I was there. I brought home my usual ridiculous haul, but it's hard to argue because when I tallied it all up I was only in all this stuff about $230. The wooden machinists chest in the picture is excluded from that price, I'll do a separate post on it by itself (it was full of tools).
Full disclosure, some of you will remember a few of these items from a previous post a few weeks back where I got a block grinder, 2 columbian vises, and some odds and ends for $15 - I lumped those items in this picture also to send it to another friend, but I did include that $15 in the $230 total.
Some of the highlights:
Compressor/hose/airgun
Two 1/2HP block grinders
Columbian 503 vise
10" Craftsman Wood vise
Wilton 8 643-1/2 bench vise
PowrKraft drill index
5 carry boxes, 3 Cman, Powrkraft, and an unnamed 3rd (cost $0.50)
Tons of taps/dies
5 different Akro-Mils storage bin boxes
Craftsman hatchet

More to come when I find time to dig through this more and post pictures!

You ****! I don't seem to make it down to NO too much unless it's a specific piece of machinery, but there are definitely better deals to be had than in these parts. Glad to see you posting again, and hope you got my CM lathe's twin rolling for you.

BA (BAD ***): you're going to need to build a bigger garage or rent some storage if you keep bringing home hauls like that.

ALL: i'm not sure i needed these, but I now own 3 more of these Oak flat file cabinets.

Got 4 metal drawer (cabinets? ). Local eye doctor remodeled and these were the drawer units holding custom desks up or something like that.

Found them on facebook for sale (only thing that boondoggle is good for)

10 bucks a peice. I got 4. They had 7, will get other 3 if they don't sell and they will give me a deal. They fit great on my assembly table where i was gonna build drawers anyways.

Drives, those oak flat files are sweet. I've been keeping my eyes open for something similar for map storage. I think the ones I have found so far have gold lined drawers.

I must admit that none of my big hauls come in this area. I go visit my folks and poach their territory - that's where all the "picking" is good!
I finally got the lathe up and running a couple months back, still little details to be ironed out but that's with everything! I put some pics in my albums of how it sits now. Unfortunately my phone erased all the pics I had of me fixing it over the last year. Thanks to you I was able to figure out that the cabinet had been DESTROYED at some point. Cut it up, squared it up, welded it all back and now it's good.

I finally got smart - I buy a few things I don't need with the intent of reselling. This supports my habit!

Got this stuff at a thrift shop in so. Florida.

New Belgium Brewing Co tin sign, very appropriate design for a shop, I'd say, as I have a couple of really-good bikes, and motorcycles too

Milwaukee 6146-30 4-1/2" grinder

Craftsman 1/2" drive 44975

tin tray for a toolbox, I was hoping it would fit my steel Craftsman twin latch top-handle box, but it's about 1/2 " too long

partially-used masonry cutoff blade, two large dia. SS hose clamps

and the piece that paid for the entire buy, a 5" (127 MM) Lenox Bi-Metal hole saw, it looks unused, as the teeth still have paint. Seventy-nine bucks on Amazon.

I gave him $50, and didn't even try to barter him down. Last week I also bought this gun safe from the same place, an Outdoor World 14 long gun capacity unit, $250. Perfect condition, sells for $530: http://www.basspro.com/RedHead-FireResistant-14Gun-Safe/product/1602111743/

Hi, I'm new here. You all find some great deals on cool stuff.

I just joined and also just bought a new house (garage is smaller, but attached now with a clean slate!)

This is my first Craigslist find this year. It's an older Delta drill press. Just needs a new switch and wiring. Cost $35 and about 40 minutes round trip.

The second picture shows it next to my to Craigslist finds from last year. Sorry about the boxes in front of the lathe. My plan is to refinish the press and mill once I have time (and verify function of the mill).

I'm guessing that's a Delta DP220 from probably the 1940's. Look underneath the table, and tell us what the date is cast into the underside.

I just sold one in great shape, and functional, including the cast belt cover which as you have found, is often missing. Others will be able to inform you as to what pulley you have, slow or fast.

Hit an estate sale today for a WWII aircraft pilot, the stuff and house went on forever! Spent about $125.

Pic 1, 2, 3: From top left down, Black and Decker empty power tool case, plastic drill bit stand, bolo tie, Gulf charcoal starter, 2 boxes of Sears rivets, Craftsman 4-way wrench, O-ring gauge, 2 Sears made in USA padlocks with a key that works in both, my FAVORITE find of the day, a Craftsman Crown label padlock with 2 Crown label keys, Craftsman Circle H 1/2" speeder.
From the middle down, hardware box, S-K socket set, Cal Van screw extractor pouch, punch block with punch, Proto, Husky and Thorsen sockets.
Right hand side, box of keys, Plumb hatchet head, Snap On 9/32 socket box with a few sockets and ratchet, various screwdrivers including a Proto wood handle one and a Craftsman Vanadium.

Pic 4: Wilton 645 utility vise in good shape.

Pic 5, 6, 7: Aircraft models, WWII airplane magazines, acft wingtips.

Nice catch on the model airplanes, motors and the Indy car. Those are rare finds nowadays.

Thanks. The best motor is a 1941 Super Atom .098 engine that uses a spark plug, not the later glow plug. All the airplane stuff is sold already to a buddy pending pickup.

Some great hauls guys.

bluebolt- nice interesting haul there

rpenterics -A lot of suckage in that vise ! Is that an owner's name added on the jaw or am I missing something?

Spfrzierjr- Welcome, welcome. Nice first post.

Sorry guys. I feel like a bad host. It seems like I am over-posting if I comment too much. I also feel bad when not commenting on EVERYONE'S FINDS because they all deserve a nod. It is nice when non-regulars drop in to make a comment on something that interests them. I try to stick with those things that really get me going.

To make up for my subpar hosting, help yourselves:

A friend had asked me other day to keep an eye out for a Mortiser attachment for his drill press and moritser bits.

Was going through some old tools in a bucket at a sale and there sat a Delta Mortiser and in same bucket, a 5 bit Eagle Tool brand motiser bits.

When handing them off to my friend, he asked me to go through some of his rusty items.

Got the following from him.

Pic 1--Hay bale harpoon carrier at 37-1/2" Tall by 20" wide

Pic 2 & 3--Draw Knife with 16-1/2" between handles and cutting blade 10 inches. Marked with Cincinnati in middle and J. Kolp on one side and Seybold on other

Pic 4--Shingle Nail Ripper 31" L

Pic 5 & 6--Couple of wood and metal pulleys

Pic 7--Speedo Sharpener St. Louis MO, Auger bit, couple of wood handles and piece of hardware off possibly a Hoosier or Sellers cupboard.

Hit a yard sale today and got the following:

Pic 1--Hargrave No. 640C clamp by Cincinnati Tool, Jorgensen #3 wood spin clamp by Adjustable Clamp Co and a Pony 5603 clamp.

Pic 2--Cincinnati Tool Co. 8" clamp No. 540-8, a no name clamp 6" clamp, a Stiletto Co. file and a no name file.

Pic 3-- Pair of small wedges, with only one marked by the H. T. Co., Grip O Vise Cam Locking Vice, 2 USA Made but no company name found on the hand vises.

Pic 4--Pair of USA Made Wire brushes by Osborn, divider by Hilger & Son, while other divider by Blechmann.

Pic 5--Small aluminum woodworking vise with quick release and made by The Elliott Mfg Co of Milford Conn. It does still work.

Pic 6 & 7--Although this miter box stand looks like a Stanley 150, the only markings found on it was "Made in USA". The miter saw on it is an E. C. Atkins & Co from Indianapolis IN.

So I think I did OK today. Got this stuff from a coworker who's husband recently retired. It is a KRA4114 top, KRA4107 bottom, and KRA3830 side cabinet stuffed with tools. A lot of Snapon, Proto, and Blue Point, plus a bunch of precision tools I will prob never touch. All for $250

So far I have only gone through the top box. Most of this will end up on Craigslist to pay for a new band saw...lol I just plan on keeping the boxes and basic hand tools.

Mike, How long is the saw in the miter box? The box looks small for that style/era?

Nice finds all around!

Outlaw:

When measured from one end of spline to other, the Atkins miter saw is around 19-1/2 inches.

The small miter box looks like a Stanley 150 but was only marked as Made in USA. It didn't have a miter saw on it when I was looking at it. So, looked around and found the Atkins miter saw.

So, you may well be right, as they may be mis-matched for each other.

Swingpress:

I hope you have some info on the names found on the draw knife blade.

There has been another draw knife with the combo of Cincinnati and J. Kolp.

What is throwing me is the Seybold name on my draw knife, along with the above two.

Only thing I pulled up while Googling was an E. F. Seybold, but he seemed to be involved in wood hand planes in Cincinnati and couldn't find him involved also in draw knives.

So far I have only gone through the top box. Most of this will end up on Craigslist to pay for a new band saw...lol I just plan on keeping the boxes and basic hand tools.

That one pan is full of Rotabroach/Blair cutters and arbors. Keep them. They are the best tools around for cutting spot welds and cutting nice clean holes in sheet metal. Run them slow so they don't burn up. They're also kind of expensive.

That was my only hesitation to posting this...lol. 100% true though, and in my elated state I don't care how many people call BS...lol.

As for the rotabroach cutters, I have zero use for them as I do mostly woodworking and some light car repair. I have a HF welder that was given to me that I have yet to even touch.

75% of the stuff in these drawers I have not idea about...lol
