I told him his $750 in loose tools, even with a free toolbox wouldn’t fit in his Prius. Thankfully the tool box also came with a carrying case. I think he did alright for $750, after following him home...now the **** part of it, I had to drive the Prius back to his shop!
Pics 1&2 I was thinking, "That poor guy got ripped, and you're a horrible friend."
Pic 3 I thought, "Ok - job box, maybe there's some gems in the first pics, but still....
Pic 4 "You ****!"
Well played.
I got this stove over the weekend for $10. I have never come across a Thermos stove before, it sure is made well.
The rest of the Pics are from an estate sale in one of the wealthier towns by me. Not a tool, but I've been looking for a decent mid-century desk for a couple years, and I finally saw this one buried in one of those horrible estate sales pics. So I figured I may have a shot at it. I got to the sale about 10 minutes after opening, and fortunatley it was still up for grabs. They had a $100 sticker on it, and they let it go for $75. It will need some refinishing, but overall it's in pretty solid shape.

JMLangford:
That "skewdriver" is a Milwaukee Power Head with the thumb piece missing.

The thumb piece slides onto the raised ridges and keeps the head from twisting.
No, 'the Borg' (i.e., the Plomb/Proto empire...) had dropped the box ends by then. The hanging hole was still reinforced but no longer broached in 1948 (Plomb Catalog No. 4820) and 1949 (Catalog No. 4922-M), but by 1953 (P&C Catalog No. 5300) it was no longer even reinforced.Lugz, No broach on the JPD/Proto?
Nice recovery.....well, when she says look in the shed anyway.
Agreed, especially compared to years gone by.3baygarage said:Lugz, it seems like alot of these stock # tools are turning up here lately.
Looks like a K-22 from about '35 or so. See here.

BB are the horns 120 AC or 12 VDC?
Nice finds!
Other than the Allstate sticker there are no other markings, lettering or anything. Those round "relays" have three terminals, I'll call them A,B and C.
"A" goes to a single horn so each horn has it's own relay. There are no other wires going to the horns so I assume the negative is grounded through the metal framework.
"B" is wired together with a short wire and has a long wire with a large ring terminal going from one terminal. I suspect that is a ground wire.
"C" terminals both have a long wire that probably went to power.
Suggestions anybody?
i'd guess 6 volt. try 6 volt 1st and if good and loud stay with it so u don't burn it up using 12 volt. don't ask how i know...
I hadn't even thought of it being 6 volt.
I don't have any source of 6 volt power. Now what?
Garage Journal just called to say I was PROBABLY going to be named garage sale shopper of the year but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!
