No, it's not easy to answer in a few words. There is a very detailed explanation of the entire thing in the first page of the '16 HD thread. Really, go ready that and it will explain everything.

He wasn't being a jerk, he gave you the direction you should go.

Thanks to the clue provided by DanielSimpsonDay, I found the explanation that we need. Read posts #1, 3 and 6 (at least) in the linked thread.

Thanks for the clue.

Thanks to both of you for the info. I figured I was the only one who didn't know so I didn't bother posting that I googled it and got the answer yesterday.

I really do appreciate both of you actually attempting to assist. I'm also the type of person that would have looked it up and posted a link. If a question bothered me enough to want to tell the person to go look it up themselves I would have simply moved on. That doesn't do anyone any good.

HD has that 15-Piece Milwaukee Hole Saw Kit for $30 now, limited in-store availability, YMMV

That's correct

But Home Depot pulled it off their website just now. Its probably still available at your local store at the stated price.

It's been a little over a hour since I came across the deal, but here is the message which pops up on HD's website now,

"The product you are trying to view is not currently available.

If you have any questions, you can reach our web support team by email at [email protected] or by phone at 1-800-430-3376"

The ones that were in the front for the holiday deals? I think they were originally like $40?

Tempting...

Yeah my store had a bunch still in the little area they had with the leftovers... I'll probably check it out today as I'm heading that direction anyhow.

Found these at my local HD last night. Great price if you need a new door mat for the house or shop. YMMV

As a reminder from the 2016 HD thread:

OK, fellas... Here's the problem:

The Home Depot Clearance Threads are REALLY, REALLY popular. To some people, these threads are a great place to scope deals for later profit. I don't really have anything against these people, I just can't relate to them.

To other people, these threads are a great place to troll and make fun of other users for fun. I can't relate to these people either... but on top of that, I don't really want to serve/host these people.

To yet another group of people, these threads are a great place to find deals on stuff they actually need. Now, these are my people. These are the folks I really care about. These are the folks I want to host.

The problem is, I don't have enough time to monitor these threads day in and day out to make sure that this last group of people have a clean enough thread to get what they need - ya know? I set rules and tell people that if they don't have a deal to post, then don't post... But folks either don't see this or ignore it.

I'm hoping that with a new thread, people will see it... and people won't ignore the rules.

So, let's try this again.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A DEAL OR A COMMENT RELATIVE TO A DEAL, DO NOT POST ON THIS THREAD. THIS ISN'T A THREAD FOR YOUR OPINION ON ANYTHING.

Further, if you feel like calling someone a name or just being rude in general... well, please find another forum. You aren't welcome here.

Thanks,

Ryan

I will be closing that thread and posting a link to this thread.

Wow, looking at the contents, that's really nice for $99. The ratchets are 72-tooth quick-realease pearheads and you get a good number of deep sockets in useful sizes.

Is it unusual to see this price for this kit?

I've never seen them that low. It was yellow tagged so I snagged it.

Wow, that's unbelievable. How did it happen?
Umm happy. S every year with husky sets. Every major holiday has some sort of set and a couple months after if it doesn't sell it eventually gets to next to nothing.

Wow, I knew some of the rough outlines of the markdown system, but I didn't realize it would produce things like a $25, 225-piece socket set. That's awesome.

Went by HD today... Most of the Holiday tool stuff was gone, just some flashlights and stud finders... Was hoping to snag those Bosch paddle bits and Milwaukee hole saws cheap but oh well...

On the plus side, in the clearance corner they had the following goodies.

$1.83 - (orig $6.97)EPDM Rubber Strap Jar with Assorted Sizes (5-Pack)

$1.03 - (Orig ~$7?) PB Blaster 11oz Citrus Degreaser. Sorry no URL. Figured for a buck I would give it a whirl, seems to have good reviews so I might grab more next time I'm there if there is any left...

$9.96 - (Orig ~$19) Husky 3/8 Speeder Bar

.01 - (Orig ~$9) Deckmate 1lb box of Green 1-5/8 & 1-1/4 screws! Got 3 boxes total (all there was)!

Funny story on the screws, they were kind of shoved in the back of the clearance shelf, and I've seen them there for a while, figured someone just left them there that didn't want to buy them since there was also no price tag on the rack or on the items. A guy walked by asking if I needed any help and I asked him if he could scan one, he did and it showed up .01 and he said, "Oh these are supposed to be sent back, I can't sell them to you, I should take them." I grabbed them and was like, "Nope, I was never here, you never saw these!" He was cool about it and said, "They probably won't let you take them when they ring up at the register." I said I would take my chances... Went to self-checkout, because they never have any regular registers open except during peak hours. lol

Why on earth they clearanced out deckmate screws, it's not like those ever change and I honestly couldn't tell any difference from the ones in the regular part of the store, probably just a different UPC or something.

Masterbuilt smoker.

Yeah mine has several smokers / BBQ pits marked down about half... I expect them to go a little lower before the spring refresh happens...

Question - I was looking around my HD today, and in a post it mentioned they have computer kiosks / displays for people to use, either by the pro desk, customer service, or other areas in the store. I looked in every department in mine and nowhere did they have monitors that were facing the customer. :( They have nice big touch-screen displays for the employees to use, but I don't want to bug them, especially when trying to find a penny deal. They *do* have self checkout and I notice it had a price-check button, but often the self-checkout has a line because they never have any regular cash registers open. Using the website often just brings up item not found or the non-clearance price. Thoughts / ideas ???

I use the computers in the appliance section. Just wait until no employees are around. I very rarely get any flack for using them.

Hmm... Thanks for the tip! That actually would work out quite well since the clearance shelves are very close to that area! :)

$5 is a really good price. Some stores here have marked them down to $3.33 thoug. I picked up four packs of them yesterday. I doubt they will last long at either price.

Picked up the orange one for $3.33 and the tow strap for $4.03. Was the last ones they had. They had them and some other odds and ends set out on a table with a hand written sign that said "Clearance"

Also, the store had cleared out all of the Christmas stuff and started setting up a new bathroom vanity section in its place with many of the displays having signs that said "Do not touch, the glue is drying" pertaining to the counter tops on the vanities.

They are getting scarce. There is another box of six at the same store. It is in the No Home over stock. I will have to see if it's there the next time I go up that way.

Over the past month the PCA at my store has been inop. All search terms come back with no items found. You can access home depots website though. Same location has also pulled a few outlying department computers as well.

Just curious if anyone else had the same experience before.

I have experienced the problem sometimes but it is usually due to a slow server response. Sometimes moving to a different computer also helps.

Yeah my store had a bunch of HDX straps and bungee's on clearance too, not marked down as much as y'alls so I'm still waiting as they are collecting dust in the clearance section.

I saw they had some electric stapler marked down (located in it's normal location), but not something I need and probably just relevant to that one store. But they've been clearancing out several stapler products lately in that one area.

Ive never seen a computer in the lighting section around here. A few stores do have a PC right by the door to the outdoor section though.

I do get bugged sometimes while in the appliance section but usually tell them im just looking something up real quick and they go away. I even get asked by random people if I work there and can help them with something.
