Some interesting pieces in here. Details later.

CONTENTS (Top to bottom, left to right)

- Unknown tool, Sawyer Tool Co / Fitchburg, Mass. U.S.A., dates to 1898 (I never heard of this outfit before!)

- Unmarked ignition screwdrivers

- Wartime Bonney BW8 adjustable crescent wrench

- Two (2) Proto L.A. 6" adjustable crescent wrenches, J.P. Danielson, 1950, 1955

- 8" machinist dividers, Lowentraub Mfgr Co, Newark, N.J., with martial "< U. S.>" mark, MADE IN AMERICA. I'm pretty sure this is WWI or interwar. (Another first!)

- Dwarfie offset DBEs are Plvmb 8161 and an Indestro

- Antique era farm tool is a #3 PLANET JR

- Tin/leather punch is marked "Elizabeth, N.J." on the tang and "A.S.F.&T. CO." on the flip side. I expected it to be a Kraeuter. (Third of three tool makers I had never heard of - all on same day!)

- The midget box has "CHROME ALLOY" sockets with a satin finish base and polished walls. The guy told me he just sold the ratchet 15 minutes before I got there. Needless to say, I was disappointed to hear that. He couldn't remember what it was, but if my memory is correct, I believe this was a Williams line. He sold the rat for $10. The guy could've had the whole kit for $15! Now he orphaned the sockets! Grrrr! Oh well, something to look for.

- Tappet wrenches are both wartime, a Vlchek ALLOY STEEL 92, and a cad-plated Lectrolite marked like I have never seen before.

- DOE's are another Made in England 'Snail' logo and a wartime Herbrand.

- The robust female-female knuckle joint is a Walden-Worcester 1102, also appears to be cad-plated.

I'll be posting more close-ups here and other threads

Lugz,
The midget Chrome Alloy set is probably early S-K stuff sold as Brazil Tools.
I have several 1/2” and some 3/8” drive sockets marked like those.

Today was SWMBO's turn to lead a picking adventure. She's getting ready to expand her office, so we went to the practice of an optometrist who was retiring after 40 years in the same place. This was her expedition--I was along to keep her company on the 45-minute car ride and to tote anything she bought. As we pulled up to the curb this morning, I said "I hope he has a tool box!" SWMBO rolled her eyes and said she expected me to say that.

The retiring doc was a little old man with mostly old equipment, but he did have a few modern items that SWMBO was after. As she was looking over the medical equipment, I peeked into the closet where he serviced glasses and frames. Ho-hum, just some tiny optical pliers, tiny screwdrivers, tiny files and a tiny vise....or should I say a tiny Baby Bullet Wilton vise on a Pow'r Arm mount! :rocker::rocker::rocker:

I casually slid back into the exam room and asked the doc if his frame tools were also for sale. "Yes, it all has to go," he said. So, I made a pile and added it to SWMBO's. She got a good deal on all of the optical equipment, and told me I could just HAVE all the tools!

I brought the car around, she carried stuff out from the exam room to the lobby, and we loaded up from there. On the drive home, I was over the moon! "I got a Bay-bee Bullet!" I kept saying in a sing-song voice. SWMBO shook her head and said she was glad I was happy.

Then, when we got home and started unloading the car.....there was no vise! :scared: SWMBO had forgotten to grab it from the exam room! :willy_nil:willy_nil:willy_nil SWMBO was mortified and called the doc back. He agreed to meet me back at the practice, and I drove the hour and a half round trip back to get the vise. I combined it with what I thought would be a quick stop at Harbor Freight to pick up some tool chests. That's a whole other goat rope that I'll tell on my garage thread. Finally, though, I walked back in and laid my hands on the Baby Bullet and this time brought it home.547b4760b027fdaaa84debe68d929284.jpg1187f1c7cf363696c784f4a3704e37f6.jpgc76e1dc72ed5b615963e686e8b2ff481.jpg07349ec6b3315ea80845ee1577253d9b.jpga9b4f7c63ff336e6511c403e1645b5fe.jpg21be178ce9f264c9e0505c085c2c1afa.jpg581dd34dce4a07fe84c332b13ad21b04.jpg28c2c5b7cfe7e008fc5f681ec560ea71.jpgd5911f882fff51b86733cfce00bc3fd8.jpg

Blue bomber, that was a close one! But of course we have to know what you paid for that baby bullet....

Unfortunately for me, the past 3-4 weeks have either had estate sales an hour away or having very little to no tools. In that time ive only picked up a full 1 gallon of boiled linseed oil for $3 and 2 95% full containers of butcher block wax for $2.

Have not had much time to get out but was able to make a few stops today. Cman pliers and a few Cman metric igy wrenches, USA made taps, Cman chisel, USA made spring ring clamp pliers, wire bender-upper jig and a General 825 drill grinding attachment in the box with original instructions. All in, 14 bucks.

We hit an estate sale that was a little further from home than usual but the selling company generally has low prices. The first shot is everything. The second is the Plomb and Proto Tools. The next is my first SR socket. The next ones are Xcelite, Thorsen and Dunlap, followed by a Klein adjustable. Craftsman is next and the last one is a Snap-on Ferret extension from 1932.

Whoa! That’s what the mysterious “S.R.”s look like? I think there’s a chance that the faint marks on the pitted relic I posted earlier today are the same logo!

Spotted an old Campbell Hausfeld (VT910201AJ) air compressor and picked it up for $50, they were asking $75, widow selling husbands stuff, so she didn't know anything.

I got her to plug it in and it ran smoothly, but it may be much older than I thought, evidently the serial number includes a date code making this a 1984 model! Is that right?

Searching online all the parts seem obsoleted by CH.

And it doesn't seem to have an air filter? That can't be right, anyone familiar with these?

Thanks Outlaw.
I have no use for them.
They were in a bag with the Snap On driver.
Drill bits are all USA.
Pry bar is a little Craftsman crown top.
Neat little Cincinnati clamp.

Did somebody say Crowntop? Need a better picture!

And yes Cleco's and Cleco clamps as well, very handy for sheet meatal work.

For shame!

And yes a Baby Bullet with a Power Arm beats my $10 one LOL. You REALLY ****!

BB you **** on the Baby bullet! but you can't claim it was "free" you paid 2X!

Yep, it cost me about 8 gallons of gas.

Blue bomber, that was a close one! But of course we have to know what you paid for that baby bullet....

See above. Gasoline plus extra windshield time.

I guess it was Baby Bullet Month! :)

And I thought March was for moustaches...

You **** Bomber! No points off for forgetting your new baby at the doctor’s office.

Best comment re: this pick!!

Nice find on the Wilton BB... That's too funny you left it there and had to go back!

Funny is one word for it...

How could you have forgotten that vise or even let it out of your a hands!
For shame!

And yes a Baby Bullet with a Power Arm beats my $10 one LOL. You REALLY ****!

So BB got a BB last week and the other BB got a BB this week LOL.

Believe me, I will always double check my favorite picking partner from now on!

Thanks for all the accolades, gents. There's a part of me that wants to cash in and then there's the collector in me that's proud to have one in my garage. I think I'll hang on to it for a while.

Been buying, just not had time to post up. Man, you guys are finding some nice stuff.

Here’s my latest add for the shop off OfferUp. A 1,000 lb hydraulic platform lift. Will use it for mowers, atvs or what ever I don’t feel like bending over to work on.

I posted more info on it on my shop thread.

The Vidmar shelf cabinet that’s sitting on it is a recent CL buy, I just now picked up in Tally this weekend.

Next up is another old built like a tank office chair. Bought this from a member in Tally.

Love how solid these old thing were built.
The shaft is a solid piece of steel and machined to fit the sockets, no pos sheet metal fittings.

A few signs of garage sale life after a long hibernation.

Like new Fein Multimaster kit and a used Metabo angle grinder - $15 for the pair.

P1090373.jpg

Felco pruner $1 and a like new Bose Bluetooth noise reduction headphone $5.

P1090374.jpg

Lot of 60+ artist brushes + misc - $15.

P1090368.jpg

Vintage desktop Vornado fan in the scarce salmon pink/green color scheme - $50.

P1090376.jpg

You **** on the cost of the grinder alone.:lol_hitti

killer score on that lift table. I have a slightly bigger one, 1500 lbs rated in my garage. I put mine on metal castors, man is it nice to be able to move it all around the garage!

It's been a slow couple of weekends for sales around here. I did manage to pick up this crown top box for 4 bucks. Hopefully this weekend will be good. My town is having its annual "city wide garage sale."

Small haul, Weird day with the sellers.

One guy got upset as I was looking though a box of Leather working tools/supplies and insisted I stop and "put everything back! it all goes together!" Dang.. is it a full moon?

Another guy wanted $500 for an old Sansui receiver, knobs falling off, one missing, clearly not used in decades... Clearly had NO CLUE what it was...

Other sellers were just strange. :wtf:
I've had similar experiences at a swap meet I sometimes go to with my dad. Some are strange, some are mean, and some are just drunk.
