) and that he knew NOTHING about them, he played some guitar but only acoustic......I told him that I play acoustic also and knew NOTHING about these pedals either (except that they go for a lot of money No. I'm pretty much just flea markets these days. I was doing estate sales not so long ago, but it became more trouble than it was worth, for me, between the midweek ad reading, the calls to try to figure out what's really there, the route planning, the driving, the waiting, etc. Lots of running around and too few results, in my experience. But hey, you keep it at it. Less competition for me!Lugz.
I'm from Neptune. That plane came from sale in Holmdel.
Did you check out that carriage house sale in rumson today.? It was packed when I got there nothing really grab my attention.

Jim, those should pay for a few buying sprees!
And Yes, you DO ****!

I haven't checked any of them out yet to see if they work but I pulled the covers off a few to check the battery......I first one (the tc electronics polytune) I opened the back to find the battery still wrapped in plastic and the screen still has the protective film on it
They all look in like new condition, so I'd be surprised if one of them didn't work!
Thanks for watching.....Now I'm going out and buy some lottery tickets before I lose the golden horseshoe......
The young guy who sold them to me said his buddy in collage gave them to him (He majored in music....Percussion) and that he knew NOTHING about them, he played some guitar but only acoustic......I told him that I play acoustic also and knew NOTHING about these pedals either (except that they go for a lot of money
) He said he'd had them a few years and was glad to get rid of them.....I was glad he got rid of them too!!!
.
I mess with guitar stuff all the time. Looks like a couple hundred bucks in pedals to me. Nice score. You ****!
and I'm seeing used for around $199.....So, went to the reg flea this morning. Really nice out, yet not many vendors or people. Dug around and found a few things at vendors that I had just not really DUG around at before. Found a couple of Bonney drivers. One is a really long thin blade, the other seems to be a more modern test light built into it ?? Had an indention with a fuse inside it looks like and a screw on the handle end... on the way out to the truck I notice a small vendor had set up ion the back side with seemed to be just a buncha odd and eds homwe type stuff. Walked all the way over just in case. As I walk up I see a Craftsman socket set box with leather handle. Open it and most the tools are in it! I ask how much, the girl says $15 and the guy says $25 at the same time... I said Ill go $15... He says sold. Yay! not too bad for the shape it in. Also found an old pair of needle nose Craftsman pliers same place. hit the second flea... and found an old tool box tray filled with old sockets and tools. Asked the guy a price for all of it. $5... SOLD! there were more Craftsman H sockets and -V- sockets, along with some old Blackhawk and indestro and such... Also found a belt measuring stick like we had in our store growing up for $2!! Ended up having the speedster for the Craftsman set. Need to find out what all went in it, looks like a 1/2 and 3/8 set maybe? also missing the female ratchet drive plug.

You guys know I post some LEFT-BEHIND category photos from time to time... Well, I was sorely tempted to buy this TRUE TEMPER TOOLS hardware store display rack this morning, but I didn't. First of all, because it was more than I was willing to spend. But also because it looks like it was for rakes and garden tools and such. If the brackets up top and on the bottom were big enough for an axe handle and head, respectively, and if that space was less than 36" (the length of the axes I collect), or if it would hold shovels, I would've probably sprung for it.
Oh, and you see that hand truck behind it? That's the hand truck I didn't buy a few weeks ago when I bought the West Bend. Same seller with a whole new load of stuff, and some stuff from last week, from the same old hardware store
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Guy wanted $50.I had one of those True Temper stands, bought it for around $5, sold it for around $30.
How do people here generally plan and chose where to go?
I've been just going on CL garage sales, filter down to with 10 mile radius of the area code and look for ones with tools mentioned and see if there is any pictures or anything of interest in the ad.
Seems like pickings are much more slim than they used to be a few years ago around here.

Where do you live ACE? I will regularly drive 45-60 miles for a good looking sale. But I am in the small town area between larger areas.

You REALLY **** on that Craftsman box and sockets RT!!!!!! I mean that sincerely! Great finds!

A one day Estate sale netted some oddities and mini projects for six bucks:
An older GPS that once plugged in and charged, then reset, works fine! some webbing for future projects; The mini Impact he gave to me, and it is a no battery Dewalt that I'm hoping is 12V. If so I'll add a cord to it and use it corded as a mobile tool in may rig! (Does anyone know if there is a Battery tool thread for fixes and mods??) Lastly is a sample of some water main pipe!

Yes it's wood, and yes, its REALLY old! It's already been out of the ground for over 50 years! This was 5 of the 6 bucks.

Thanks I was super excited to see it, any idea how to date that set? C man is not a brand I have learned a lot about yet when it comes to the vintage stuff. But I sure like it! I have also found a deep socket 1/2 set in the box with L handle and a 1/4 set or two as well at the same place.
Thanks EC!
I got a bit more on the history/age of the water-main: Beacon Hill reservoir was a building to store water for part of Boston and was above ground - HUGE masonry walls; >2.5 million gallons capacity!) It was built from 1847 to 1849 when it went into service. it was decommissioned and demolished in 1880.
Form the plaque the main went from the BH reservoir, to the hospital as a feed line (it was about 2" ID) and presumably was put in about the same time frame, so this log section was cut in the late 1840's, dug up in 1967 (excavation for other construction?) so was in the ground for about 120 years, + the 51 since '67, so call it 170 year old wood!
The treatment of the wood is interesting: They core drilled it (that had to be entertaining in the late 1840's!) and burned the outside, presumably to preserve the inside better?![]()
At our local’s training school we have a section of wooden electrical conduit.
