You guys are making some really nice scores this weekend! I'm still fighting the doldrums here, (probably because a lot of people took the week of the 4th off...)

I went back out for a few late posted sale,s and only the estate sale (which I could NOT find yesterday...) had anything worth grabbing, and even that was minimal.

Wood Box, glass pestle, Art book of Gauguin paintings, and a Stanley ice pick which interestingly has the Awl grip? Odd... Six bucks all

Twas really dead here. Only found two keepers. An M12 Hacksall kit. They agreed on $7:

This is the first time I've seen a CM RHFT ratchet with flex head. $15 and the seller wouldn't budge but I took it anyway:

I also saw a 600 lb Peter Wright anvil in really great shape with all the accessories. Only a mere $3k :(

What's the make/model numbers on the ignition wrenches? And ditto for the lady's foot pry bar?

The ignition wrenches are Cornwell along with most everything in the red case. And the model numbers are IW-21 thru IW-7. The pry bar is blue point #1650

Pretty sure the resale on the round head flex ratchet will give you a few bucks to spend later.

So I got up and was out the door at six for the Northwests Largest Garage sale, about an hour and a half away, getting there a little before it opens. Wandering around I found a few things:
20180707_154306.jpg
Proto driver, Goodell Pratt surface gauge, driver holder, Proto monkey wrench and a small Proto box (held a condenser but was originally for 8 5210's)
20180707_154317.jpg
A couple sisters were disposing of grandpas stuff, no fixed prices just whatever you offer. I gave $10. And yes, that is a Gillette razor.

I was willing to pony up $50 for this as it was complete. Not all are the original bits, but they were still good bits.
Then I went to a tool estate sale, ran into Rileysan there and we picked what we liked
20180707_154440.jpg
I love bakelite multimeters so a Calrad in case, a bicycle wrench and a P&C speeder. $9 for everything.
The final stop was showing on CL a pretty ratty sale, my favorite kind. But when I drove out there it was a pretty ritzy area. Not to fear it was the one. I picked up the following for $40 as he sold it as a set
20180707_152928.jpg
Large pre-pebble, pebbles, some misc. 3/4 sockets and a Craftsman ratcheting wrench.
20180707_152938.jpg
Plomb 3/4 ratchet, extension and Ell.
20180707_152944.jpg
Plomb 3/4 sockets from 1" to 2 1/2"
Spent everything in my wallet.

Slow week of hunting....but I did get in a Snap on ratcheting screwdriver from an OfferUp ad for $30 shipped
20180705_123809.jpg 20180705_123815.jpg

When I got it, it was locked up (ad didn't mention that :wtf:) but I took it apart and cleaned everything real good (old dried up grease had it frozen) lubed it with Super Lube and she works great....just needed the spa treatment...
20180705_144554.jpg 20180705_144604.jpg

My small (but growing) collection ....
20180705_144739.jpg 20180705_144747.jpg

Here's the pic from the OfferUp ad....none of the bits are Snap on....

While cleaning the ratcheting screwdriver I used my Mac MR5 ratchet and I figgured I'd give it some TLC....
20180705_170806.jpg 20180705_170815.jpg

In the process of taking it apart I managed to drop the small spring and steel ball on the floor :shocking:.....I found the ball but the spring totally disappeared.....I was frantically trying to think of what or where I'd find another spring when I remembered I have a small drawer of misc ratchet repair parts that I saved from when I was a Matco distributor :bounce:
20180705_180028.jpg

Does anyone know why there are three small marks on the ratchet body under the switching lever???? Date code???
20180705_181103.jpg

Anyways what I really wanted to tell you guys about is, I also found in my little stash.....11 tools that help hold the ball and spring in place for re-assembly.....and all this time I've been fighting with little screwdrivers and such  Totally forgot I had these things.....
20180705_191010.jpg 20180705_191110.jpg 20180705_191228.jpg

P.S. - Davefr You ****.....that is all

2. Vintage Screw Driver "Yankee" No. 130 A, North Bros., Mfg. Co.

WOW! I should have followed you to that estate sale. Then again, I wouldn't want to jeopardize our friendship over a few Plomb sockets. Well done - You ****!

Picked these up at the flea market today. Snap on, Truth, P&C, Matco and Proto. Got a Proto oil sender socket too that didn't make the picture for some reason

No sales found, maybe the heat changed some minds. Went to Pick-A-Part instead, was not able to pull anything, but took some needed measurements and no worthwhile parts to flip.

We are out at the lake. My daughter pulls in and says she needs to borrow a socket to replace a taillight. Thinking this is a little odd, but know better than to question her. She is a very independent young lady. Ask her what size and she is unsure, so we will check it out tomorrow as it is getting late.
Next day the females want to go to a bake sale and church garage sale. Thought I would tag along for the bakery goodies and check out any tools etc that might be at least entertaining. As I had guessed most of the tools were ****. My daughter finds a small metal case and inside to my amazement is a I believe a full range of sockets etc. Thinking more off shore junk, check it out and it is a Indestro S 85035 kit that appears to be fairly complete. She asks for $2 as both her and my wife conviently to bring any money. Funny how that works. I think that $2 will likely not be enough, the pricing guy hearing me says if it would have been me a fiver was in order, but since it was my daughter $2 would be fine.

This is the result of 2 estate sales over the past 2 weeks. Everything cost me 250. If anyone has an older Craftsman catalog, I need to know what sockets I am missing.

...he says ever so casually.

That's a Snap/on-made C-Series set! :shocking: One week after you find the Hazet set? :wtf: You are walking under a luck star, my friend!!! :)
I need to start following him around. There has been a few times when I have found something so rare I get sweety palms but never in back to back weeks.

The Craftsman set cost 10 dollars. A few pics missed the cut. The Blackhawk is 3/4, the SO is 1/2 and the Wright is 3/8.

I certainly did not do as good as some of you this weekend, but the weather was amazing and I had fun. I am just realizing their may be nothing in my post that is directly tool related but I hope you let it slide.

A first for me was a friday night tailgate auction. I picked up a box of 10 glass bricks for $5. These are great for display bases for vintage tools. I will be attending more of these auctions.

A local auction company was cleaning out their warehouse and had a $5 a box sale. Sadly, there were no tools that fit into any of my categories, but you should have seen the feeding frenzy.

A yard sale yeilded a trash can full of vintage table lamps. Well if converted bowling pins can be considered vintage table lamps. I think they have potential.

Finallly, I saw an ad for 50% off at a local estate sale. When we got there, it was actually 75% off and very lightly attended. So I bought a vintage industrial Singer sewing machine out of a tailor shop for $17.50. My original plan was to use the base for my Craftsman metal lathe, but I am starting to go soft and may find a way to keep it together. I has a really cool clutch to engage the motor. I sent the info to a gal I know who is into sailing and has asked me to be on the lookout for something that could handle canvas and sailcloth. She can determine if it might be up to the task or not.

After being totally shut out at the Tahoe flea yesterday, today was a slight improvement. I picked up some Blackhawk sockets for Tin Medic but I now feel that they would be like sending coal to Newcastle. The first shot is everything, the second is the Blackhawk. Next are some P&C and a Bonney socket. The next two are Craftsman and Snap-on. The last two are a Champion deArment hammer with Southern Pacific markings and some S-K ratchets.
