ALL: I picked up a few nuts and bolts this week, but I really wanted the Rotobin so it was a lot of work, but it's mine now.

also picked up a little vise too.

cheers and hope you all have a great day

That vise looks like a beast. How much was it?

Before I forget to do this...

I will be abroad from August 7 through August 23 with limited to no access, and then an old Army buddy and his wife will be staying with us for a week immediately after that. And tomorrow is going to be crazy with last minute packing etc. So I am effectively off the net until September. No biggie. Just didn't want anyone to wonder if I got hit by a bus. I trust you will all continue to play nice and if anything actually goes kablooey in my absence, there are enough former hosts and old hands around to cover for me.

:thumbup: on the 5000, I have one in the MBR, connected to a Sansui timer so its also my alarm clock. That gets sound from a Laser disk/CD player that auto starts on power up.

Haven't had an opportunity to try an 800. 22 watts is actually a nice size for background to medium volumes, although with efficient speakers it can get very loud. I have a 551 @ 16 WPC and its great for my office adn two smaller speakers setup at ear height. the office next door could not hear my music.

Nice finds everyone!

On Friday, my usual morning was canceled, so I went to an ES a bit out of my way, spending $38 there:
jzzus.jpg

Cornwell socket box, RHFT Craftsman and in/lb torque wrench
fnv05w.jpg

Blue Point Metric T&D set, almost complete!, BP left hand drill bits, Williams 3/4 universal (that is how dirty most thing there were) and a Craftsman =V= ratcheting adaptor.
jzapz.jpg

Misc. Craftsman metric sockets, Herbrand and Hazet wrenches.
Sat I hit a few GS with little to show for it, and then hit the scrap yard.
qrd91u.jpg

The Duro ratchet and long C box were from the GS at a buck each, but the rest is from the scrap yard. An almost complete Craftsman =V= socket set, some other misc sockets, Yankee push drill bits in wood case, and the best of all, Plomb screw extractors, never used! All that cost me $14.

I am a old fart newbie. Kinda got away from wrenching as cars these days are no longer DIY. I am working on filling in holes so I can start wrenching in style on my 1960 Bugeye. Or that is the rational. I needed a 1-5/16" socket and now the illness has spread. Went to my second flea market looking for things I don't need and managed a $5 Craftsman tool box. In it were a few items I don't have in my set. But this is an illness. For $5 it is cheap entertainment. My box was full of dirt and rust and **** but it cleaned up fair and had about 40 Asian items plus below.

The Made in the USA stuff.
Proto slip jaw pliers. Who would have thunk?
New Britain Screwdriver.
Craftsman V 1/2" drive 1-1/16, 15/16, 7/8, 3/4, 5/8, 7/16 and 3/8" drive 19mm. Seems like the old Craftsman did not have part numbers but the later stuff does?

A very new USA Craftsman 3/8" wood chisel.
SK Torque wrenches....cheap but made in the USA. Unclear if they would be usable accuracy wise. Grab bag of Stanley, Thorsen, Easco, Master Mechanic stuff.
SK 3/8" drive metric 7, 8, 9, 12, 13mm sockets and a 13/16 spark plug socket. I have SK but no metric....I don't think I will start and stay Craftsman metric sockets.

Is there a "swap" thread on this forum? Or do you just chuck your USA mfg miscellaneous into a box and sort periodically?

Hit the small flea and an Estate sale where everything was laid outside on tables in the backyard right outside the small shop. I'm guessing so lots of people could get to the stuff as only a couple could fit into the small shop at a time. What they didn't take into account was it was 105, which translates to about 1000 degrees in Texas heat. Every metal tool out there in the sun was too hot to even pick up! WAs kind of funny to watch people pick stuff up... for a second. I had brought gloves as I always do. Anyways here's my hauls for the weekend. Some neat stuff.

I'm behind a couple of weeks on posting so there will be a couple of posts worth of sales. I'm into everything for around 400. The MAC box is for a 1/4 drive set, it's empty. The sockets are SO, MAC, Cornwell, SK, Bonney and assorted other US brands. All the specialty tools came from the same sale.

We love pics. A lot of specialty tools. The orange handled Cornwell picks are made in Germany. A nice collection of various ratchets. A Hazet grouping from a VW guy.

Wow! You **** just for finding that ratcheting adapter!

Did the Wizard set come from Clarence? I gotta get out that way again soon.

Continuing to build my woodworking collection, picked up this JET jointer at an estate auction this past weekend.

Got it for $45 + 10% auction fee made it under $50! There were a bunch of people there running up the prices for some of the dewalt and craftsman stuff, but there wasnt much attention on this one! It has one rusty spot in the bottom corner of the stand, but it runs great... going to clean it up and order some new knives for it.

First of all, excuse my tardiness in welcoming you to the thread, durant. Until it caught on fire one day!, I drove an Austin-Healey 3000 for awhile back in my teens. Looking forward to hearing more about your Sprite in the coming months. As for swaps, mainly the latter, but a few good eggs have gotten swap threads started from time to time here on GJ. Most trades are just catch-as-catch-can in reply or via PM, but guys do list things in WTT thread in the classifieds, too. Scroll down when you're on the main page.

Yeah buddy. That Hornet set - color-themed with the brand name - is cool! (Did you see the funny Vulcan sticker I posted on the Williams thread?)

HAHA. Thanks, guys.

LUG: while we were all hoping you'd make it a YEAR without BALING...[ ]...safe travels and hope you find a few things while you are abroad that you can stuff in your suitcase and tell us about when you return.
:wtf: I dunno, Drives, but if I didn't know any better this kinda sorta sounds like you didn't have much faith in me making it the entire year!

I don't know how much free time I will have for roaming any bazaars. My daughter plays college basketball and her team is playing 4 games in 10 days in Europe. The rest of the time is meted out to the minute by TGWMBO (the Travel Guide Who Must Be Obeyed).
