I'd like to get into the led bulbs but I invested too much in the cfl bulbs and have to use those up first. So far I'm only putting led bulbs outdoors due to winter colder weather. Lot of cfl bulbs to use up indoors and those last quite a long time. I may be moving on to the next type of bulb by the time I'm done with cfls and skip right past leds.
It doesn't matter if the CFLs cost you $1 or $1000. You are probably throwing away money every month you keep them. The only thing that matters is how long the LED replacement takes to pay for itself*.
Now is a great time to be buying LEDs. They have been around long enough that there are lots of clearance deals like a few posts back. Chances are bulbs at those price points will pay for themselves in months, not years.
*footnote* You may also care about the quality of the light, but chances are the LEDs will have better quality light than the CFLs. Oh and the LEDs also have to last long enough to pay for themselves and continue saving you money, so check reviews and pass on ones with reports of failures.
